So, that’s how it went. I managed to get the Black Dragon Dukedom’s army mobilized for the ‘another world monster’ hunt.
Ugno is leading them, making sure they hold the rampart we forced onto the north side of Felward Fortress.
Fabulanova and Clayd finished the transport runs.
Now they’re in the sky with the flight squad, covering us from above.
The Garuda Principality sent ten thousand troops to the east.
Nokin’s calling the shots there, with Alonsa, Repulus, Garo, and Geronimo backing him up.
They’re all set behind the eastern ramparts.
Over in Felward Fortress itself, Shifa’s taken command.
Arbalest, Quenelra, Letticia, Julius──their key officers──stand guard right by her side.
The problem Yaalan?
They airdropped all 15 thousand of his men to the great Nirei Fortress.
He’s got his main generals right there: Mild, Malte, Douniz, Claude, Lyla, Rhea, Lynthia.
They’re stacking the rear with a solid backup line and support.
”Looks like we made it in time… We’ve pulled together close to 50 thousand soldiers from all nations. It’s been one month since the barrier broke. We have to wipe out the ‘another world monster’──and fast…”
I hunched down inside the new ramparts.
Out beyond, the ‘another world monster’ horde kept coming──an endless, crawling mass.
Cold sweat ran down my back.

*Iska’s Perspective
”Alright, everyone, we’re pulling back soon! Stay close and follow me!”
The Rootless Weed crew all called out to let me know they heard.
Since we finished the southern campaign and started hunting ‘another world monsters’ at Felward Fortress, we──Rootless Weed──have been hitting top numbers.
Even up there with the best Hunting Groups and Lord Blackdagger’s own squad.
That’s all thanks to my team.
Rosalinda keeps her cool and gives sharp orders; Heta and the rest run decoy attacks, keeping those monsters off my back.
Because of them, I can cut down crowds without getting buried.
Yet, no matter how many dozens, hundreds I slay each day, the numbers never seem to dwindle.
”Iska, leave the rear to me, okay?”
Renge drew her treasured blade, slicing through the ‘another world monster’ creeping up from behind in one clean cut.
She had a particular loathing for these creatures, declaring them inedible and focusing all her efforts on cutting them down the moment she spotted them.
”Renge, got the back. Iska, you make sure we have an escape route.”
”Sure thing. I’ll dash through in a flash. Heta, if you trip like last time, I won’t be able to pick you up, y’know!”
”Shut up. I won’t trip. It was just, y’know, getting the enemy’s attention on me!”
Heta denied it with a red face, remembering how he’d stumbled over a stone while retreating from yesterday’s hunt, nearly getting surrounded by ‘another world monsters.’
”Let’s make sure it doesn’t come to that. Alright everyone, let’s move out!”
Spreading her wings wide, they seemed to have a will of their own, stabbing into the ‘another world monsters’ one after another, causing explosions.
Already deeply affected by the possession status from consuming monster meat, she had grown used to living with a constantly changing body.
Sometimes her consciousness would drift, her memories threatening to scatter, but somehow she managed to hold on, driven by the mission to protect her companions.
Today too, during combat, her awareness threatened to escape several times, but she could steady herself by thinking of her comrades’ faces, Rosalinda among them.
…For everyone, I have to try harder… I want to earn loads of money, live happily with everyone, raise Lord Blackdagger’s child, and when I die, I want everyone to miss their old granny… Definitely, that’s how it’s going to be… So for now, I’ll hunt these ‘another world monsters’ as if my life depends on it.
She kicked away an approaching ‘another world monster,’ stomping its body, causing fluids to spew out, forcing it into inactivity.
”I’m gonna make a huge hole, so don’t get in front of me, okay?”

Fireballs burst to life in both hands.
I hurl them one after another at the ‘another world monster’, cutting off its escape.
BOOM! BOOM!
The blazing orbs hit the ground, flooding everything in blinding light.
The monster vanishes, swallowed up──gone in a whirl of brightness.
”Now! Everyone, run for it! Iska, you too, don’t just stand there──move!”
Rosalinda shouts out, and the whole group tears off at once, sprinting for the makeshift dirt wall thrown up on the east side, their new shelter.
Route Selection Explanation
The following are on track for death: Rootless Weed (Derashine), Heta, Rosalinda, Yaalan, Yuri, Clayd, Fabulanova, Arbalest, Nokin, Alonsa.
We’re looking at an all-out showdown against the ‘another world monster’──this will be the final battle.
The Margrave South District country and other armies take huge losses.
Iska, shattered by the death of friends, loses control, morphing into the beast of apocalypse, storms into the another world gate and the other realm.
Kent and the gang chase after, heading in too.
The plan: destroy the final boss, which is the closure device, and reach the ending.
