I grab Valentina by the trembling shoulders and try to talk her into ordering the villagers to evacuate.
According to Clayd’s report, Valentina’s word is absolute here──unless she tells them to move, nobody’s so much as budging.
”…Are you sure you’re not planning to lock us up somewhere under the pretense of ‘protecting us’? Like, ‘Heh, got myself a prime catch. And it’s even a rare endangered species? Man, I am on fire today…’? You’re not that kind of guy, right?”
Valentina’s imagination is clearly running wild in the worst possible direction.
”…I… I don’t think so?”
”Why the pause?! Why are you hesitating?!”
Hey, can you blame me?
When you see a super cute beastgirl, of course you want to try your luck… it’s just a guy thing, isn’t it?
”Kent! We don’t have time to play around! ‘Another world monsters’ attacking from all sides──Black Bullet’s holding the barricade, but they need backup! We’ll handle support. Lana, Talia, and Ms. Annabella will manage the evacuation!”
”R-Right! I’ll jump in as soon as the villagers start moving! Don’t let anything break through!”
Milly and the others raise their hands in response, then scatter to reinforce Black Bullet at the perimeter.
”Valentina! If you hesitate now, everyone here dies! If you’re the chief, then act like it──give the order!”
”…Ughhh! Fine. I’ll put the servant thing on hold, for now. But you’d better believe you’ll get a reward for this──so please, help us!”
”You got it. I’ll save everyone──no holding back.”
Valentina looks like she just swallowed something bitter, wrestling with the decision.
But before long, she steels herself and starts shouting orders for the villagers to get moving.
”Listen up! King Kent has agreed to protect us. Feche, Iola, Shiina, Bera──you’re with King Kent, buy us time ’til everyone’s out. The rest, follow the guides and board the transport baskets──head straight for Felward Fortress!”
Valentina’s voice, clear and commanding, rang out.
No trace of those earlier nerves──now, every order she gave was rock solid.
And then, the 4 Garuda Clan warriors she’d summoned knelt before me.
All 4 wore nothing but furs──just barely enough to cover their chests and, uh, the essentials.
Wild and untamed──yeah, that’s the look they went for.
Oh──oh no.
This is… this is so not good.
If they fight looking like that, I’m doomed──no way I could resist dragging them off to some dark corner and… breeding them silly!
Just knowing they’re Garuda Clan──an endangered species!──is enough to send my inner beast into overdrive.
But then they strut out in fur bikinis, ready for battle, and now my eyes are glued to every one of them!
Still, thanks to that *very thorough* session with Milly on the last expedition, I mostly had my urges under control──barely.
But there’s gonna be backlash.
When this operation’s over, my wives and concubines are in for a *deluge*.
”By Lady Valentina’s command, we follow Sir Kent’s orders.”
The woman in tiger-striped furs glanced up at me, all serious and formal.
All 4 of them──lean, strong, not an ounce of softness except for those curves.
And wow, did those chests move with every breath…
…Sorry, Valentina, but if we don’t hurry up and protect these girls──and start the whole preservation program, pronto──my beast gauge is about to break the damn scale…
”Uh──y-yeah. You’re Feche, right? By the way, any of you got a mate?”
Feche tilts her head, puzzled, like she can’t quite figure out where I’m going with this.
That cute little gesture?
Yeah, my beast meter just spiked again.
”Eh? Oh, no, we don’t. Guardians’ escorts are supposed to be unmarried, so none of us here have partners…”
Single. They’re all single… What is this, the rare character jackpot?
Did I just use up a lifetime of luck?
Four unattached beastgirl beauties, all endangered, right here in front of me… My heart’s about to burst.
Forget dancing──I wanna fly.
”Alright, from now on, you’re under my command to take down the ‘Another World Monsters’. Everyone, are you ready?”
”We’re prepared. Let’s move out.”
”You guys just got locked on by Kent. Expect a call to the bedroom soon. You’ll be sure to get a whole batch of seeds from him. That king over there shares my [red] type, so even if the stock’s a bit thin, you can make it work with enough tries.”
Clayd, who had been watching the proceedings, poured another round of tea, but the 4 of them gulped noisily and their eyes took on the predatory gleam of carnivores.
What’s this? These kids are pretty eager, huh?
Could it be… I’m gonna get the mount position and get squeezed dry…
”Understood. I’ll do my best to receive Sir Kent’s seeds.”
”Oh, yeah. And I’m planning to have you serve at my side as a chamberlain, so make sure to support me with all your might and show your true capabilities.”

And so, along with the 4 beautiful beast girls, they set out to defend the village until the villagers could escape.
