”Sir Yaalan, reports have come in from the spies we left on the battlefield. To summarize, King Nokin and Chancellor Alonsa were ambushed and killed after attempting to break through an impassable swamp by the Feto River. The Eastern Garuda Principality’s forces, led by Repulus, have retreated, losing over half their troops and returning to Felward Fortress.”
I am in the command room built within the Nirei Grand Fortress, sitting in a chair and listening to Yuri detail the report on the ‘another world monster’ extermination campaign.
”Next, Princess Fabulanova of the Black Dragon Dukedom, along with her husband Clayd, engaged in a fierce battle against a giant jellyfish-like ‘another world monster’ during the Felward Aerial Operation. After a spectacular fight, they managed to destroy them. Command has been taken over by Delprius, who continues to provide aerial support.”
Yuri turns to the next page.
”The latest intelligence indicates that Kent and the Shifa forces are departing from Felward Fortress. The only forces remaining there are the Eastern Garuda Principality troops, depleted from the battle at Feto River.”
”I see. Next, give me a report on the status of the other countries.”
Yuri flips to a new page.
”The Eastern Garuda Principality, governed by Porcha and Bartram, is seeing a decline in public order due to the absence of its military. Tensions with refugees at our border are on the rise. The Black Dragon Dukedom’s Nord, taking advantage of the missing army, is beginning to solidify his power base. The Dracul family, known as vampires, often plots to seize the main house, and it seems Nord is not the first. That nation is ripe for chaos. The True Demon Kingdom is firmly ruled by Chancellor Aldo, with no visible cracks, although some nobles are calling for early retreat, suggesting financial burdens may be its weakness. Lastly, the Margrave South District has shifted to a War-Time State, with a united front led by Chancellor Lila, the bureaucrats, and the peacekeepers Fristoph. However, their fighting strength is nearly depleted. Taking over the country might be easy. These are the current movements of each nation.”
The subordinates listening to Yuri’s report nodded back, each lost in thought.
”Now, it’s about time we made our move. As other kings fall, we’ll leisurely advance along the path carved out by the desperate efforts of Kent and Shifa, preserve our army, and close in on the another world gate (Abyss Gate). We’ll defeat the exhausted forces and force the closure of the another world gate (Abyss Gate) with Kent and his men. After that, it’ll just be a matter of toppling the nations with our power and claiming the Demon Lord’s throne.”
”Ha! We, your loyal subjects, are here to support Sir Yaalan’s path to conquest.”
Mild bowed his head in respect, and the others in the room followed suit, bowing in unison.
”From this moment on, we must urgently gather our forces and first occupy Felward Fortress. Begin preparing the troops for immediate departure.”

As Mild and the others rushed out, the fortress erupted in chaos, filled with the shouts of soldiers. Yaalan beckoned Yuri over, placing her on his lap.
”Yuri, this gives me a chance to defeat Kent and his allies. If we capture Shifa, use the gathered Warlocks, and trap Kent in another world… I’ll be on my way to becoming the Demon Continent’s master. Then, after uniting the Demon Continent, I’ll devour the Empire. Hahaha, my Soul of the Overlord is trembling with joy!”
”If I can serve Sir Yaalan, then I am content~.”
Yuri then gently kissed him.

*Mild’s Perspective
Orders came from Sir Yaalan to advance, and we, as the vanguard of 5 thousand soldiers, were tasked with capturing Felward Fortress. We quickly gathered the troops, finished preparations, and set off with Malte and Dooneys.
The march went smoothly; we encountered some straggling ‘another world monsters’ along the way, but dealt with them without issue, and thanks to the forced march, we arrived near Felward Fortress a few days later. It was nearing dusk.
”Malte, Dooneys. We’ll launch a surprise attack and seize the fortress at once. Our opponents are the wounded Eastern Garuda Principality forces.”
”Well, I don’t mind taking the fortress without much effort, you know?”
”Dooneys, the Eastern Garuda Principality forces have lost their will to fight. So, we’ll launch a surprise attack and break their spirits, then, using Sir Yaalan’s charisma, we’ll incorporate them into our forces. Right, General Mild?”
”Yes, just as Malte says. We can’t afford to waste soldiers. The main force will arrive tomorrow. Let’s take this over. From now on, we are the supply train from Nirei Fortress.”
I selected 5 hundred soldiers, packed the rest into a hundred wagons, and disguised ourselves. Then we headed toward Felward Fort, guarded by the Eastern Garuda Principality. Since my face was known, I assigned a subordinate who looked convincing as the officer for the baggage squad, and I kept my face hidden, marching as a soldier.
The army arrived smoothly at the main gate of Felward Fort, and the guard questioned our purpose of visit.
”From Chancellor Lila of the South District Margrave’s domain, we have urgent instructions to deliver medical supplies to Felward Fort. Our True Demon Dukedom army has taken charge of the transport. We carry high-level healing herbs and medicines for treatment.”
The man chosen as officer was quite a good actor; he delivered the lines as rehearsed. The guards looked slightly wounded, their faces dull and exhausted, showing they were tired, and they let us pass without checking inside the wagons.
…they’re spineless. Well, that makes my job easier.
Inside the fort, with the monsters from the surrounding ‘another world’ wiped out, everyone was completely relaxed. Many sat around without weapons or armor. After confirming half the wagons entered the fort, I drew my sword and shouted out loudly.
”From now on, this Felward Fort is occupied by us, the True Demon Dukedom army! Drop your weapons! We won’t hurt those who surrender! You’ve lost your masters ── you’re like dogs without a leash! To stay alive, you’d better show us your tails!”
At the signal, fully armed soldiers jumped out of the wagons. The soldiers from the Eastern Garuda Principality, caught off guard, panicked. Some immediately threw down their weapons and surrendered, others tried to flee through the gate only to be cut down, and some resisted with spear thrusts. As chaos spread throughout the fort, a young commander in armor, accompanied by a large man wielding a spear, charged in.
”You’re Mild! How dare you carry out such a shameless act as a surprise attack at a time like this! Are you planning to leave a bad name in history?!”
Yuri had told me that the young general was a general named Repulus who was in charge of the eastern Garuda Principality forces.
He’s young… It’s a pity he doesn’t have enough experience in the war… Maybe he just doesn’t have enough experience as a general.
