The faces of the members, already resolved to risk their lives, were uniformly bright and shining. Rootless Weed, an orphanage, considered its members to be family, and it was tacitly understood that they would resolutely unite and confront anyone who harmed that family.

”Alright, then. Let’s set off some BIG fireworks. Everyone, we’re gonna blast the Hydra with those Beast Monster Hammers you’ve all been holding so dear!”
”””OOOOH!”””
They assembled the Beast Monster Hammers (Rapid Hammers) they carried on their shoulders, setting them to firing status and shouldering them. Once everyone was ready, they fired a barrage of smoke bombs from their magic guns, blinding the Hydra.
”Now, let’s go!”
I also shouldered my Beast Monster Hammer (Rapid Hammer) and jumped into the smoke screen with the other members.

Breaking through the smoke, a multi-pronged attack of bullets, flames, and artillery fire covered the entire area. The members found the remains of a small ‘another world monster’, slipped in to take cover, and aimed their Beast Monster Hammers (Rapid Hammers) at the Hydra. One person fired, aiming for the base of its leg, and hit their target, but it didn’t seem to be a fatal wound due to the distance.
The member who fired was spotted by the Hydra and turned to ash by the flames spewed from its mouth.
”Damn it! Get closer!”
The members hiding in the wreckage also seemed to realize that distance was ineffective, so they crawled out, shouldering their weapons, and pressed closer. Amidst the gunfire and cannon fire, another person took aim and fired their Beast Monster Hammer (Rapid Hammer), but at the same time, they were swallowed by the Hydra’s head and crushed. The final shot they fired in their life hit the base of the neck, successfully piercing the skin.
”It’s working! Fire everything at once!!”
The remaining members aimed for the base of the neck and fired. After firing, they discarded the Beast Monster’s Hammer (Rapid Hammer) and took up their magic guns, pouring all their bullets into the Hydra. When the bullets hit, the Hydra writhed in agony, and began firing indiscriminately, unleashing volleys of bullets, flames, and blasts.
I tried to duck, but it was too late. Just like the others, I was hit, and a large hole opened in my gut, blood gushing out.
”Damn… this is… Renge is gonna be pissed… Sorry, Renge. …Big Sister Rosalinda… sorry… Guess this was too much for me. Figures my bad feelings are right… this time…”
I lost consciousness as I collapsed to the ground.

※Rosalinda’s Perspective
When everyone Heta took with him was killed by the Hydra, the enraged Hydra began indiscriminately destroying the wreckage and the manufacturing plant, and was heading towards us.
”Big Sister Rosalinda, we’ll hold them off here, so go call for reinforcements. We’ll be wiped out if we don’t!”
A member who was relatively lightly injured told me to call for reinforcements, but the other Hunting Groups were taking a break right now, and if I went to call them now, it was certain we’d be annihilated before they arrived. We have to attack now, while the Hydra has lost many heads and its attack power is weakened thanks to Heta’s life-risking Charge.
And even if we retreated, we couldn’t leave the seriously injured behind, so the only option left was to attack.
”Don’t be stupid. Are you going to waste the time Heta and the others earned us! Instead, those of you who can still move, grab the Beast Monster’s Hammer (Rapid Hammer) and attack! We’re so close to taking it down! Let’s avenge our brothers and sisters!”
Normally, I would never say something like that, but the loss of Heta, our oldest member, had me consumed by the desire for revenge.
I’ll kill that damn ‘another world monster’ and offer it to Heta’s grave.
”Big Sister Rosalinda, are you trying to get everyone killed!? Tch, I can’t just let you go alone… Those who can move, grab the Beast Monster’s Hammer (Rapid Hammer). We’re going to smash that big thing!”
The members who got up made the Beast Monster’s Hammer (Rapid Hammer) ready and slung it over their shoulders. I also used the ones that couldn’t fight due to injuries and carried 2 on my shoulders.
”We’re targeting the base of its neck. We’ll close in and strike!”
Like Heta and the others, we fired smoke grenades to block its vision, then one by one, the members carrying the Beast Monster’s Hammer (Rapid Hammer) jumped out of the wreckage and rushed toward the multi-headed dragon (Hydra). As each of them closed in, they fired a shot at the base of its neck, but they were caught, burned to ashes, shot, or blown apart by cannon fire.
”You killed my family, didn’t you!? You damn snake!!! How dare you!!!”
Dodging gunfire, I slipped under the Hydra’s chest, pulling the triggers of the Beast Monster’s Hammer (Rapid Hammer) in both hands. The gas shot out, and the bullets hit the exposed wounds Heta and the others had made, deepening the damage. As the Hydra’s head descended toward my arms, they were gone in an instant.

*Iska’s Perspective
Feeling uneasy, I rushed toward the area near the Abyss Gate where Rosalinda and the others were. There, I found the ground dug up, littered with wreckage. The biggest piece of debris had several of our members lying next to it.
”What happened to Rosalinda and the others? What’s going on?”
One of the members, breathing heavily and on the verge of losing consciousness, whispered quietly. The others’ injuries were too severe, and no healing medicine would work. Their lives were running out.
”Everyone… everyone’s gone… Heta… Rosalinda… the others too… Please, avenge them… I’m… I’m going… so… please, Iska…”
As the strength drained from the child who’d sought revenge, their breath stopped.
It’s a lie… it’s a lie… this can’t be true… I won’t believe it… I won’t believe everyone’s dead….
Closing the eyes of the fallen members, I stifled the tears threatening to overflow and walked toward the *Abyss Gate* where Rosalinda and Heta had likely headed. Immediately, a bizarre scene caught my eye.
Near the crack in time and space, two stakes stood alongside the members’ bodies. On closer inspection, the stakes impaled Rosalinda, missing both arms, and Heta, with his intestines dangling from his abdomen, displayed like trophies.
…W-what… what does this mean… what’s going on….
Beside the stakes, a multi-headed dragon-like creature sat like a gatekeeper, glaring at me. Here, I finally understood what the child had said earlier. The home I was supposed to return to no longer existed in this world. Even if I won this battle and returned to the mansion, the siblings I’d shared meals with were gone forever.
…This… this can’t be… this can’t be….
My heart began to throb violently, and my emotions spiraled out of control. The soul fused with Vanquish, buried deep within me, rose to the surface.
…I’ll destroy everything… all abnormal creatures will be annihilated… I won’t forgive them….
I surrendered completely to the other consciousness welling up from the depths of my heart and lost
