The fire crackled softly, filling the quiet camp with warmth. Two days had passed since meeting Kent, and only one day remained to reach Abyss Vena.
Kent, a 15-year-old boy from the Majin Clan, seemed unsure about outdoor life. Today’s journey tired him, and he quickly fell asleep after dinner.
…Kent’s sleeping face is so peaceful… Oh, he has crumbs on his cheek… Should I wipe them off…
I gently brushed the crumbs from Kent’s face with my fingers. When my hand touched his cheek, a warm feeling spread through me.

After a while, I gently adjusted his blanket again, making sure he was cozy. After doing so, he looked even more peaceful.

As I looked at Kent’s calm face, my heart felt light. The quiet moment with him made me feel at ease.
…Kent is still asleep. If I just sit here quietly, he won’t wake up, right? Yeah, probably not… I’ll just stay here…
After confirming Kent was asleep, I sat beside him, took off my shoes, and curled up next to him, feeling safe.
Warmth spread through me.
”…Mmm.”
The moment I felt his presence, it felt so comforting I almost sighed, and I quickly smiled softly. As I sat there, my heart felt full, sending gentle happiness.
…Ah… It feels so nice… I might smile too much… Kent’s kindness is amazing too… Ah, it feels so good… If Kent sees this, he’ll think I’m too clingy… But I can’t help it…
Overwhelmed by happiness, I leaned closer, feeling his warmth. Even though it was simple, it felt special.

I tried to stay quiet, but the joy made it slip out. Excited, my heart naturally felt lighter.
