Volume 1 Chapter 13 Another World Announcement
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
After the event to add maids as harem members at Blackdagger Mansion ended, I was thinking about everything that had happened so far.
What is this feeling of being a “real-life” person? Is this really Kento Horikawa, who hasn’t had a girlfriend for 35 years? I can’t tell if this is Another World, a game, or a dream, but it definitely feels very real.
After enjoying tea and snacks with Ms. Annabella, I headed to Magic Street to gather information, where Milly’s friends are at the Magician Guild. According to Milly, Magic Street has a Healing Clinic for when you’re sick or injured, and a Magician School run by the Magician Guild for training magic users.
As I walked around, I noticed a lot of people in robes. Among them, I spotted a few members of the Rakshasa clan, who have small horns on their foreheads. After walking for a while, I saw what looked like the Magician Guild building. It was a stone structure resembling a temple.
”Is that the Magician Guild?”
”Yes, it’s also a temple dedicated to Orphée Bleu, the founder of magic. The person you’re about to meet knows a lot about that, so if you’re interested, you can ask them.”
”Oh, really…”
As I entered the Magician Guild, I found a courtyard with a statue. It was of the fallen god, Orphée Bleu, said to be the one who created magic. He is also known as the first Demon King of the True Demon Kingdom. The statue mentioned that those who inherit his blood are called the True Demon clan, and purebloods are referred to as Black Color with black hair, black eyes, and dark skin.
A Demon King, huh… The figure in the statue looked just like an ordinary person. He didn’t have any physical features like Milly and the others, such as goat horns or bat wings. I stopped my thoughts, feeling like I might get left behind if I kept pondering.
Following Milly, we arrived at a place that looked like a university classroom. Inside, there were four or five people who seemed to be magicians. Was it break time now?
”Hey, Lina!”
Milly waved at one of them, and a small girl with silver hair and blue eyes in twin tails rushed over. Her robe was too long and was dragging on the ground.
”Elder Sister Milly!”
The petite silver-haired girl named Lina jumped into Milly’s chest. For a moment, I thought she was being affectionate, but I was wrong. The way she moved her hands, the way she squeezed…
You little brat! You’re enjoying this, aren’t you?
”Elder sister! Elder sister! Elder siiiister! Mmmmm!”
Feeling that it was too much, Milly picked up Lina.
”Lina, I have something important to tell you.”
”What is it? Are you finally going to confess your love to me?”
Lina looked at Milly with eyes that could only be described as sparkling. Ahh, I feel a sense of unease spreading within me.
”Well… you see, I’ve become the ‘property’ of Sir Kent here.”
Lina froze at Milly’s words, then turned towards me with a creaking sound, like an old wind-up doll.
”How dare you…”
Whoosh! A fireball flew past my ear, leaving the smell of burnt hair. I might have peed a little.
”You! Someone like you is the master of my elder sister!”
”Lina, stop it!”
Lina, who was still trying to cast magic at me, was restrained by Milly.
”I’ll kill you! Kill youuuu! I’ll turn you into ashes!”
Lina was struggling, but Milly’s superior strength held her firmly in place.
”I thought you would understand, Lina… We’re hopeless…”
Milly’s voice sounded sad. Lina, who had been struggling, trembled.
”No, that can’t be! Elder sister… but that guy is your master?!”
Lina glared at me with her eyes wide open. So scary! Too scary!
”Hey! What did you do to my elder sister! Do you have any idea how much love I poured into her development in this chest?”
”I-I’m sorry, Lina. Milly, I’ll be fine, really.”
Feeling the pressure from Lina’s anger, I instinctively apologized. Since Lina is short, Milly’s chest was just about at the top of her head.
”How dare someone like you touch the chest of my elder sister that I, known as the God Hand, carefully crafted!”
Lina lifts Milly’s chest as if to show it off.
*Smack!*
Milly’s hand strikes the top of Lina’s head.
”Lina! You’re getting carried away! Don’t play with my chest!”
”Ouch! It hurts, elder sister! Why won’t you accept my love?”
”Honestly! I might be a bit strange, but I’m still a researcher at the Magician Guild!”
Wait, Lina isn’t just a magic student; she’s a guild staff member? How old is this little girl who calls herself the God Hand?
”Tch, fine. I’ll introduce myself. I’m Lina Dorman, a 16-year-old Rakshasa scholar.”
Lina introduces herself with a pout. The horns characteristic of a Rakshasa were small and barely visible at her hairline. As I try to introduce myself, I notice Lina’s eye color change from a clear blue to red.
”Could it be that you’re a ‘Lost One’?”
”‘Lost One? What’s that?’”
Lina crosses her arms, pondering my words.
”I’m researching jobs and skills. I just used the [Person Identification] skill to check, and you have 4 ‘Unique Skills.’ At your age, it’s hard to think of anyone with 4 unique skills and no job other than a ‘Lost One.’”
Lina’s words change Milly’s expression. Wait, are ‘Unique Skills’ that rare? Hold on, is there really a skill called [Person Identification]? Can it check other people’s stats?
”Kent, is it true that you have 4 ‘Unique Skills’?”
”Elder Sister, this guy has [Handsome Guy], [Protective Instinct], [Woman Killer], and [Sexual Prowess]──he has all 4 rare ‘unique skills.’ Even someone who has mastered their job can rarely get these, and even those with ‘gifts’ usually only have one, but he has 4! Four!!”
I’m overwhelmed by Lina, who talks like a machine gun. It’s not like I chose to have these 4 skills because I wanted to… Since Lina’s story seemed to be going off track, I decided to ask about the “Lost One.”
”Ms. Lina, I’d like to hear more about this ‘Lost One.’”
Lina’s eyes widen in surprise. It feels like I’m facing a wild animal. I feel like if I look away, I might get eaten.
”Lina, I’m asking you too.”
”Tch, fine. If it’s your request, I’ll take you to the lab, so follow me.”
”Thank you!”
We followed Lina to the lab. Soon, we arrived at the lab, and Lina sat down in a chair. We were invited to sit on the sofa.
”Um, it was about the ‘Lost One,’ right? Honestly, you’re not from this world (Grimoire), are you?”
Lina’s words shocked me.
”W-What do you mean, Lina?”
Milly also seemed shocked.
”According to my research, the acquisition of unique skills in this world (Grimoire) depends on your job level. The only exception is the ‘gift’ you might get at birth. Plus, it’s strange that you don’t have a job at all. Anyone born in this world (Grimoire) should have at least one job.”
Milly turned to me and asked.
”Kent, do you really not have a job? I thought you were just a villager… but you didn’t have any ID either.”
Ah, what is this feeling of defeat… Even after being transported to Another World, I’m still unemployed…
”Um, is it really impossible to not have a job?”
I cautiously asked Lina.
”That’s impossible.”
She stated it firmly.
”By the way, this isn’t the game world of ‘Hunter Life,’ right?”
”Hunter Life”… Speaking of which, I think there was a description in the diary of a ‘lost person’ that was discovered hundreds of years ago.
”Really? What did it say?”
I couldn’t help but grip Lina’s shoulder tightly.
”Let me see… It said something like, ‘How many years have passed since I came here? I still don’t know how to log out. Is this really the world of Hunter Life?’”
It’s just like me… So, there were others who got thrown into that game just like I did.
”What happened to the owner of that diary afterward?”
”They built a family in this world and lived out their lifespan.”
So, there’s no way to go back, huh? I expected that, but hearing it announced is still shocking…
”Kent… Are you okay? You look pale.”
Milly asks with a worried expression.
”Yeah, I’m just a bit shocked.”
I put on a brave face and replied to Milly. It seems I really have been summoned to Another World. However, I can’t help but notice that my body feels smaller than when I was there… Milly gently hugs me from behind.
”Kent, it’s okay because I’m here. I’ll protect you.”
”Thanks…”
I wonder what’s happening to me in that other world… Am I dead? Did I get summoned here with my whole body? I should have gotten rid of my AVs. Well, it doesn’t matter since I can’t go back anyway. I need to switch my mindset quickly. From today on, ‘reality’ for me is this Grimoire world. If I’m going to live here, I need to seriously look for a job, and I also need to learn how to read and write.
Lina looks at me with a skeptical expression, as if she’s judging me.
”Seriously, should I turn you into charcoal?”
”Milly, it seems like Lina is busy, so maybe we should take our leave.”
It’s probably best to escape before Lina awakens her murderous intent.
”Yeah, it’s getting close to dusk, so let’s head back. Lina, thanks for today. Come over to my place to hang out sometime.”
”Sister! I promise I’ll save you from that demon someday! Until then, don’t rush things!”
No, Lina. Milly is already…
Sizzle! The hair on the opposite side from earlier starts to burn. I can’t let my guard down. Lina’s instincts are terrifying. I figured it would be best to make a quick exit. We hurriedly left the lab, not even properly thanking Lina.
