Volume 1 Chapter 40 The Eldest Daughter Of The Dorman Family
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
Morning has come.
Today is the day I’m going to meet Lina and Lana’s parents.
Since I’m technically going to propose… well, not really propose, but to ask for their approval for dating, I guess I should dress formally.
But I don’t have anything suitable.
Knock knock.
”Excuse me. I brought your outfit.”
”Please, come in.”
The door opens, and Annabella walks in.
”Since you’re going to greet the Dorman family today, I think it would be best for you to wear this formal attire.”
Annabella hands me the clothes she brought.
The outfit she offered is that white school uniform that Milly secretly bought when we went shopping together.
”Wait, I’m supposed to wear this? Is this really formal attire?”
”Yes, the knight’s uniform is made of the highest quality, so I don’t think it would be disrespectful to the other party.”
To me, it just looks like a white school uniform, but apparently, it counts as formal wear in Grimoire.
I figured that wearing this would leave a better impression than my usual tunic and pants, so I put on the white school uniform.
”It looks great on you. Sir Kent looks quite dashing.”
”Really?”
Annabella compliments my appearance, but all I see is a middle school student in glasses wearing a white school uniform.
Seriously, wearing this makes me feel like I’m back in middle school.
Dressed like a middle schooler, I headed downstairs for breakfast.

When I sat at the dining table, everyone was gathered, and Milly was sitting there in the short knight’s uniform she wore when she went to see the Margrave.
On the other hand, Lina wasn’t in her usual robe; she was wearing a dress adorned with ribbons and frills at the chest.
”Today is starting off lucky. I get to see Lina in a dress.”
Swish.
Lina’s magic is absorbed.
”Y-You idiot! It’s not for you! I’m just dressing nicely because I’m going back to my family home after a long time! It’s not for Kent or anything!”
”Maybe I should wear a dress too… Kent, do you prefer a mini dress? Or one that emphasizes the chest?”
When I complimented Lina on her dress, Milly started saying she wanted to change into a dress too.
Thinking that if she changed, no amount of time would be enough, I decided to praise Milly.
”Milly, that outfit (knight’s uniform) suits you perfectly. I’m totally captivated by you as a dignified knight.”
”Really? If you like it that much, should I wear it next time during my duty (when activating the Sexual Prowess skill)?”
What? To wear that blazer-like knight’s uniform… what an advanced play… with high school girl Milly…
No, I definitely want to do that.
I tried to hold back my morning fantasies from Milly’s comment and urged her to be careful.
”Ah, ahem. I think it’s not good for you to do that in formal wear, Milly… yeah, I really think it’s not good.”
Milly stared at my face intently.
”Ms. Annabella, please have the clothing store make outfits like this for everyone, including Lana.”
”Yes, understood, Lady Miriallia.”
NO! This is not good! How indecent! What is with the way those 2 are in sync? It feels like they can see right through my preferences.
”Mr. Kent, do you like that kind of outfit?”
Feria also stared at my face.
”Uh, um, that’s not… I’m sorry, I do like it, yes.”
Unable to withstand the women’s probing gazes, I admitted it.
After all, I can’t lie.
It’s important to live honestly with one’s desires.
I focused on eating breakfast to avoid further questioning.

After that, I was walking with Lina and Milly towards the Dorman house, located at the boundary between ‘Magic Street’ and ‘Noble Street’.
I had made an appointment to visit under the name of the Blackdagger family the day before, but I hadn’t detailed the purpose of the visit.
As we got closer to the Dorman house, my tension was rising.
How should I bring up the conversation about Lina and Lana? If I suddenly say, “Father! Please give me your daughter,” the chances of becoming a cold corpse the next day would be very high.
As I walked, I thought about starting with a greeting, then talking about the economy and work, and finally leading into a discussion about our future.
While I was thinking this, I saw a Western-style mansion in front of me.
It was a bit smaller than Blackdagger Mansion, but the size of the garden and the way it was maintained made it feel like a house that had money put into it.
”This is my family home. It can’t compete with Elder Sister Milly’s house, but it’s decent enough.”
”Ah, yeah. I feel like I’m reminded again that Lina is a lady.”
”That’s why it would have been just right to arrive by carriage, but you insisted on walking.”
Lina puffs out her cheeks.
But would someone who arrives by carriage really trust someone asking for their daughter?
As I pondered this, we arrived at the front door of the house.
Knock knock.
I knocked on the door.
After a moment, it opened, revealing a man in his fifties with gray hair and glasses, dressed like he was in a tailcoat.
”Ah, Milady Lina, Lord Blackdagger, Sir Kent. I expected you to arrive by carriage, but I see I was mistaken.”
”Thank you for welcoming us, Sebastian. Kent insisted on walking, so we had no choice. More importantly, Papa, Mama, and Big Sister Lana are here, right?”
”All 3 are at home, but I was under the impression you came to see your parents today, as per your father’s instructions.”
”That’s right, I have something important to discuss.”
The man Lina called Sebastian seemed to be the butler of the Dorman family.
Butler Sebastian… he wouldn’t suddenly become muscular and start taking down monsters, would he? I hope he doesn’t just blast high-level magic out of nowhere, claiming it’s an old skill.
He’s just a regular butler, right? He doesn’t have a side job hunting down enemies of the Dorman family, does he?
I approached Sebastian, hoping he didn’t have any secret side jobs.
”Today, I have come to greet the head of the family, Sir Cefiro. Mr. Sebastian, please make the introductions for me. There is an important matter from the Blackdagger family to the Dorman family.”
”Yes, then I will guide you to the reception room, so please wait there.”
As Sebastian stepped aside, a young man appeared and led us to the reception room.
