Today is finally the day of my first hunt with the Hunting Group, so I’ve been super excited since the morning.
Part of that is because I’ve been drinking a diluted fresh Calpis that Ines made, but mainly, it’s because today marks my official debut as a Monster Hunter.
”Wow, it’s finally our first hunt together! First, are we going to pick up the equipment at Mr. Golerg’s shop?”
I feel like I’m going on a school trip.
Ever since I saw the carriage and wagon parked in front of the mansion, which serve as our mobile base for the Hunting Group, I’ve been eager to get started.
”Sir Kent, Lady Miriallia’s chosen quest is to hunt the Giant Toads that have infested the Lazarm marsh. The quest rank is ☆ F-rank, so with Lady Miriallia’s orders, our main party will consist of the lower HR (Hunter Rank) members: Sir Kent, myself, Feria, Ines, Talia, Aurelia, and Lady Lina. Lady Lana and Manon will stay behind at the base wagon.”
Hearing Annabella’s party division made me realize how concerning our low Vanguard Warrior levels are, so it’s crucial for us to level up.
”Got it. Is everyone okay with that?”
When I checked with everyone loading their gear onto the wagon, they all agreed.
”Kent, remember to pick up the equipment first before the quest. We’ll stop by Mr. Golerg’s place first.”
”I finally got my Maid Suit (Maid Armor) done!”
Ah, right, I had made that unreasonable request.
I hope Mr. Golerg is managing fine.
Once the loading was done and everyone boarded, Milly at the driver’s seat took off towards Golerg’s shop.

”Hey, Little Lady Milly and Kent. The quest items are all ready.”
As we arrived at Golerg’s forge, he came out wiping the sweat from his forehead.
”Mr. Golerg, I can’t wait to see the Maid suit (Maid armor)!”
Feria was eager, pushing Golerg for the outfit.
Snatching the equipment handed to her, Feria ran towards the covered wagon with Ines.
The other members were also going into the wagon, each carrying their own equipment.
”It looks like Little Lady Feria couldn’t wait. The Maid suitt (Maid armor) certainly had its challenges that lit up my craftsman spirit, but thanks to that, I’ve opened up a new realm of techniques.”
It seems Golerg might have developed new skills through the tough task of making the armor for Feria.
”I’m sorry, Mr. Golerg, for having unreasonable demands from our side.”
I bowed deeply to express my gratitude for Golerg’s hard work.
”How is it, Mr. Kent! It’s the Maid Suit (Maid armor) made by Mr. Golerg!”
The first to dash out of the wagon was Feria, pulling Ines along.
”If I fight in this, the, um, skirt is so short that my bottom will show!”
Wow, the Maid Suit (Maid armor) looks great.
It features over-the-knee socks and a shorter skirt, with large openings at the chest and back, along with a short white apron, choker, and a headband, all based on a black Maid dress.
There are partial armor pieces to protect vital areas like the arms, shoulders, abdomen, and legs.
Moreover, it seems Golerg had a change in thinking, treating the Maid dress itself as armor and creating it that way.
”How about that? It’s my masterpiece! This Maid Suit is woven from the wool of a brown sheep (argali), and the frame of the outfit uses steel plating, so it has durability against cuts and impact comparable to steel. The open chest and back are covered with a transparent fabric made from silk of the phantasmic caterpillar, which has strong cut resistance. So it’s got defense that can hold up against metal armor!”
Golerg excitedly explained the maid suit (Maid armor).
”Feria, Ines. Since you’ve been given such equipment, you need to pull your weight! Leveling up the Warrior team is urgent!”
Annabella, who had received her armor and changed, scolded the two who were giddily wearing the maid suit (Maid armor) as she stepped out of the wagon.
Instead of picking the maid suit, Annabella was dressed in the full-body steel armor that matched mine.
She looked just like a solid iron block.
However, since the steel armor was tailored to fit her body, people’s eyes naturally drifted to Annabella’s chest.
”Annabella, that armor really shows off your figure. Are you going to wear a cloak or something to avoid being seen by the others?”
”No, it’s fine. I, who should be Sir Kent’s shield, can’t get embarrassed over something like that. Plus, once I put on my helmet, no one will recognize me anyway.”
Saying that, Annabella lowered her helmet visor.
Next, Manon and Aurelia stepped down from the wagon.
They were wearing the White Boar leather armor.
The White Boar armor, adorned with the fur of the White Boar, was said to be a coveted equipment for low-level hunters, known for its balance of defense and weight, making it great for agile classes.
”Lord Kent, how do I look? Does it suit me?”
Aurelia spun around, showing off her whole body.
A glimpse of the curve of her butt could be seen peeking through the tight white leather leggings where the armor left a gap.
”Ah, it suits Aurelia perfectly.”
Then, Manon also turned around and asked for an opinion.
”Sir Kent, what do you think-nya? Does it suit Manon too-nya?”
Manon was wearing a type of white boar armor (White Boar Armor) with leather shorts and leather over-the-knee socks, and there was a hole made so her tail could poke out.
Manon didn’t seem to care about the fact that her shorts were so short they barely covered her butt; instead, she showed it off to me.
”Ah, Manon’s butt is too cute… cough cough, I mean, it looks absolutely wonderful.”
”Thank you for the compliment-nya! Yay-nya!”
Manon was hopping around with joy, but my gaze was glued to her butt.
Then, out of nowhere, a kick came from behind.
A light impact hit my back, and when I turned around, it was Lina, wearing a magician’s robe.
”Hey, what are you looking at! Today I’m not wearing the magic absorption pendant, so a fireball might fly your way! You better be careful.”
Lina seemed mad that I was staring at Manon’s butt and turned her head away.
Lana and Talia were also there, and while they had changed into healer robes, they looked flustered by Lina’s actions.
”Lina… if you kick Mr. Kent, Lady Miriallia will hang you up. Since you’re not wearing the magic absorption pendant today, the punishment might be especially harsh.”
”Lady Lina, if Lady Miriallia sees you kicking Sir Kent… eek… I think you should apologize…”
Lina turned her face toward Milly like a rusty puppet.
”Oh, Lina. Looks like you’re having fun with Kent.”
”E-E-Elder Sister! This isn’t what it seems! It’s my way of expressing my love for Kent! Ah! I’m sorry! I’m so sorry! Elder Sister! Please forgive meeee!”
Lina was grabbed by her hair and taken into the cart by Milly.
I thought maybe she was going to be punished, but I told Milly to be lenient with Lina’s actions, so I figured the punishment wouldn’t be too severe.
After a while, the cart was creaking and swaying, but soon it got quiet, and the two of them came down.
Lina had a worn-out look on her face and came to apologize to me.
”Sir Kent, I sincerely apologize for my rudeness earlier. I deeply regret my thoughtless act of kicking you.”
Wow, her character has totally changed!
I turned my face toward Milly, and when our eyes met, she responded with a bright smile.
”Ms. Milly, what did you do to Lina?”
I was feeling a strong sense of discomfort with how serious Lina’s tone had become.
”Uh, Lina. Can you go back to talking normally? This feels weird.”
Lina was checking Milly’s expression.
When Milly nodded with a look of resignation, Lina turned back to me with a shining face.
”Ah, thanks, Kent. I’m sorry for kicking you in the back. But you should compliment me a bit too.”
Oh, there she is! That’s the Lina I know, the tsundere Lina!
The revived Lina seemed to want me to praise her, twirling her robe around.
”Well, your twin tails suit you.”
Gah!
Lina bit my hand after I complimented her twin tails.
”Ouch!”
”Gaahh!”
Lana and Talia pulled Lina away as she bit me.
After seeing this, Milly turned to me, shook her head regretfully, and went to comfort Lina.
Did I do something wrong? Hmmm, women’s hearts are complicated and I just don’t get it…
In the midst of all this chaos, Annabella had finished settling the equipment costs.
”Sir Kent, everyone’s equipment is ready, shall we depart?”
Milly, who had returned after comforting Lina, urged me to move on.
”Kent, this time the goal is to level up, so we’re going to take down a lot of enemies. Since we’re in a party, the base experience points should be split among us, so if we defeat a lot, it should be easier to level up and gain jobs.”
”Yeah, I’m in! I’ve got a spear now, so I can attack from the back too.”
I put all my energy into raising my spear.
”Kent, you’ve got plenty of spirit. If you’re wearing the armor I made, you shouldn’t take any damage from those weaklings, so do your best!”
Golerg cheered me on.
”Thanks! I’ll do my best. Alright, everyone, let’s set off!”
Hearing my words, everyone hopped into their respective carts, and we were ready to leave.
”Let’s go!”
