*Aida’s Perspective
”Mr. Golerg, this is a magic gun, right? I make guns too, but I’ve never seen one with this design. And there’s rifling inside this lance-like weapon.”
I was at Mr. Golerg’s workshop, known as the Blacksmith of Darkness, analyzing the rusted lance and shield that Kent found in the Blackdagger Mansion.
”But, Little Lady Aida, this lance also has magic imbued into it. And the shield has magic as well. Both have ‘Deadweight’ cast on them, and they activate with a ‘command word’.”
”‘Deadweight’… I wonder why they made this lance and shield so heavy…”
”Yeah, and this dent on the shield seems to fit perfectly with the protruding part of the lance.”
Rifling, ‘Deadweight’ magic, and even a combination mechanism… I’ve never heard of an Equipment with all these features.
As a gun expert, I believe this Equipment is a magic gun concealed within a lance.
There’s rifling inside the 4 holes near the tip of the lance, which I assume is where the magic bullets are launched from.
”Mr. Golerg, it is a magic gun, isn’t it? I think it’s a magic gun hidden within the lance…”
”Well, I’m not sure which one is the main weapon, but I think it’s pretty powerful as a spear. However, if that happens, I don’t understand the point of being given ‘deadweight’…”
Mr. Golerg was also intrigued by that detail.
If the spear was indeed a hidden magic gun, the meaning of the ‘Deadweight’ enchantment on the shield and spear would be completely lost.
He could only think of a few possible uses, like activating ‘Deadweight’ to withstand a monster’s charge or increasing the weight of the spear to enhance its striking power.
”Mr. Golerg, I also curious about the dent on the shield and the protrusion on the spear. Shall we try fitting them together?”
”Little Lady Aida, you’re so brave… It might suddenly misfire. Ancient weapons sometimes have mysterious safety mechanisms. Maybe we should test it outside the city.”
”What? I didn’t know that…”
”Let’s take it outside the city now… Little Lady Aida, do you want to come and watch?”
Although I were a bit scared when he mentioned the possibility of misfiring, my curiosity about the hidden magic gun won’t be held back.
So, I eagerly agreed to Mr. Golerg’s suggestion.
”Yes, I want to see it! I’ll come with you.”
”Alright, let’s go. To be honest, I’ve been curious about that dent and protrusion too.”
”Yeah, it’s quite intriguing, isn’t it? I don’t think they’re just decorations, and like this, we can’t use them as a regular spear and shield. Plus, even if it’s a magic gun, we don’t know how to load it, and we don’t even know where the ammunition case is, if it has one.”
”As the little lady said, maybe we can’t use it as a proper weapon unless we combine them… Ahh! This is exciting for a blacksmith!”
It was bizarre to see the mature Mr. Golerg squirming in front of the mysterious equipment, but as a fellow craftsman, I understood his feelings well.
After that, we took the equipment to the outskirts of Abyss Vena.

I came to a suburban field with equipment.
For safety, the spear and shield are surrounded by iron plates.
Mr. Golerg was wearing a full plate of armor in preparation for the outburst.
”Alright, finally, everything is ready. Now, all that’s left is to load the spear and shield. Little Lady, stay outside the iron enclosure, it’s dangerous.”
”Okay, I’ll leave the loading to Mr. Golerg.”
”Leave it to me.”
Saying so, Mr. Golerg thrust the shield into the ground and inserted the spear’s protrusion into the shield’s indented part.
As he did, the tip of the spear broke off, and a cylindrical object resembling a gun barrel extended from within.
Then, the stock and trigger mechanism, which had been stored inside the shield, extended and merged with the spear’s handle.
Additionally, the ammunition belt stored inside the shield also popped out.
The belt was loaded with what appeared to be unused magic bullets, similar to the ones we use.
”Wow… Such a mechanism was hidden in there…”
”A transformation mechanism, huh… Kent-boy sure find some rare Equipment… This one’s a real oddity.”
”Mr. Golerg, may I take a closer look inside? It doesn’t seem like it’ll misfire.”
”Yeah, Little Lady Aida probably knows more about these things. I’m clueless when it comes to firearms, so I’ll leave it to you.”
Intrigued by the ancient magic gun that appeared before us, I quickly stepped into the iron enclosure.
Examining the transformed Equipment up close, it seemed that the bullets on the ammunition belt were the same caliber as Elitzina’s magic bullets, and they were being fired in succession from the 4 holes at the tip of the spear.
However, the barrel that extended from the center had a different caliber, and I thought it might be a launcher for special bullets, but even then, the caliber seemed larger than usual.
”Mr. Golerg, we have some unused bullets here. Shall we test fire it? I believe the belt’s bullets are standard-level magic bullets.”
”So, you’re making me the test subject, little lady? Well, okay. I’m curious about this Equipment too. I’ll be the guinea pig.”
”As expected of the Blacksmith of Darkness, the top Equipment craftsman of Abyss Vena. I’m impressed by your curiosity.”
”Flattery won’t get you anything. I’m just an Equipment enthusiast. I just like to try out Equipment with unknown functions.”
Mr. Golerg’s expression was hidden behind a steely gaze, but he might have smirked.
He seemed to be analyzing the equipment just like me, perhaps brainstorming new weapons and armor.
”Alright, let’s begin. Little Lady Aida, stand back a bit.”
Mr. Golerg placed an iron plate about 50 meters away and returned to his position.
Suddenly, he aimed his magic gun and pulled the trigger.
Whirrr!
Bang, bang, bang!
As the spear began to spin, a barrage of bullets fired from the gun with a roaring sound, surpassing the firing speed of Elitzina.
The bullets, upon being fired, displayed a power that could tear through the iron plate.
Even Mr. Golerg, who pulled the trigger, was surprised by the sheer force.
The iron plate was split in 2 and fell to the ground.
It was a spectacle that would astonish anyone unfamiliar with standard-level magic guns.
”Incredible power… It seems even more powerful than Little Lady Aida’s Elitzina. Maybe the belt-fed mechanism is to keep up with the rapid firing speed…”
”The firing speed is indeed fast, but the purpose of the belt feed is to prevent operational malfunctions by crystallizing the magic bullets’ explosive elements during continuous firing. I faced the same challenge when creating Elitzina. This open-feed design seems to prevent the magic elements from crystallizing, no matter how rapidly it fires…”
”So, it’s a perfect solution for the expelled magic elements…”
