A week has slipped by since my life as a lord began.
In this week, I mobilized many workers to construct the crucial northern wall, finishing the framework and installing barriers against monster intrusions.
The castle grounds have also been marked out and leveled, and we have begun the foundation work.
And now, the walls of the current encampment have started to be dismantled.
This is to repurpose the stone for the northern wall.

Dee is a Fist Fighter.

Being from the Majin Clan and Royal background means she’s a relative of the current Demon Lord or the previous one?
Dee may be from a surprisingly good family.
Her way of speaking is a bit like Noble’s, and her father might be quite an important person…
I looked at the status in more detail. The necklace that Dee always wears is a necklace given to her by her father. I was curious about it during sex and asked her to show it to me, but she refused.

I paused my thoughts momentarily.
Then, I decided to ask my mother-in-law for more details.
”We will send a subjugation team. How many are there?”
”Thank you, Mr. Kent. So far, we have confirmed about 50 of them, all F-rank monsters.”
”F-rank monsters, 50 of them… well, that’s just weaklings. I could probably handle them alone. To warm up, I’ll take some members with me for the subjugation.”
Hearing there were 50 F-rank monsters put me at ease.
I was concerned about the lack of members I could mobilize.
Given our limited military resources, outsourcing the monster subjugation might be reasonable, but my mother-in-law seems reluctant to waste funds.
Sending a lord like me on the quest is likely based on my abilities and expected safety.

After leaving the castle wall demolition site that I had been inspecting with my mother-in-law, I decided to return to the mansion to gather the members of the extermination team.

Watching her leave, I decided to look for Dee.

With that, Dee began to vacuum enthusiastically.

I turned off the noisy vacuum.
”Hmph, what’s this about? I’m doing this because you make me serve you in the bath every night as a punishment for sleeping in. Are you going to do it instead?”
Indeed, as Dee said, it was true that I had been pampering her during my baths every night, so I couldn’t argue against her.

As I put away the vacuum cleaner, I stopped by the living room of the mansion where Annabella was working.

”I have no internal affairs skills at all. If I don’t hunt monsters, the townspeople will call me a freeloader.”

There’s something ominous in her words, but that stubborn Lina respects Carly.
Although Lina has reached the Mage job without a mentor, she felt inexperienced in actual combat magic use.
Since witnessing Carly’s combat techniques as a Magician, she has been asking for her advice on various matters.
”Please don’t go too far; I don’t want to get in trouble with my mother-in-law if things break.”
”I know. I’m just joking.”
With Carly finally able to use magic again after removing the magic-draining pendant, she seemed more relaxed than usual.
”Well, there are 50 F-rank enemies, so let’s clear them out by noon. Apparently the Stone Mason is scheduled to arrive on-site tomorrow.”
And with that, we got into the carriage and started driving towards the nearby stone quarry.

”Who’s the idiot that reported 50 F ranks? This Army Ant is definitely D rank, right? And the Iron Nail is also D, right?”
”Kent…. No time for complaints! Stick them all on the wall! “
After Carly confirmed that everyone was stuck to the wall, she unleashed the intermediate-level magic ‘Gale Wind’.
A fierce wind blows through the passage.
The army ants and iron nails caught the wind and their bodies were cut into pieces and scattered.
”Carly, you made it. But still, how far does this place extend?”
We quickly cleared the monsters that were loitering around the surface of the quarry in less than ten minutes.
However, during our search, we discovered what seemed to be a cave in the wall. To ensure safety at the worksite, we decided to investigate the interior, only to be suddenly attacked by a swarm of Army Ants and Iron Nails.
”This might be a ripple from the previous massive invasion. Both Army Ants and Iron Nails only inhabit the southern region.”
”But if we leave this alone, we’ll start seeing many casualties from tomorrow!”
”Kent, we should take care of this. If we ignore it, monsters will spawn from anywhere in Estfort.”
Indeed, as Dee said, leaving these monsters unchecked could turn the underground of Estfort into a monster paradise.
While it’s the theory to eliminate them, should we rush to exterminate them without knowing their total number?
”Let’s first gather our forces──”
Lina scolds me for my hesitant opinion.

Ines also instructed us to settle things quickly.

”Ms. Aurelia is right-nya. Detection will be done by me and Be-nya”
”This Bea and Non-Non will annihilate the Exploration & Detection!”
The members this time seemed to have a strong desire to fight.
Pushed by them, I decided to exterminate the monsters that live underground in Estfort.
Determined to eliminate the enemy, I decided to have Beatrice and Manon scout ahead, leading us down into the cave-like area.
The dug-out cave was dark, so I activated the torch magic to secure some light.
Manon and the others were walking ahead, just within the reach of that light.
After walking for a while, Manon signaled for us to stop.
It seemed they had spotted the enemy.
From the hand signs received, we determined that about 30 enemies were in what appeared to be a plaza.
We extinguished the light and stealthily approached Manon and the others.
Since we couldn’t see in the dark, we held hands and moved along the wall.
Once we regrouped with Manon and the others, I quietly prepared for battle.
As I lit the light, we unleashed a preemptive fireball and ice mist.
The monsters, seemingly asleep, showed signs of confusion at the sudden attack.
”Alright, let’s charge in. Eliminate everything!”
””””Yes””””
The vanguard team charged in.
Inside, there was a room about 5 meters high and 30 meters wide.
Inside were around 30 army ants, but half of them were blown away or frozen by Lina and Carly’s first strike.
”Let’s see the power of the newly received Swift Wind Axe!”
Feria was cutting an army ant vertically into 4 pieces.
The attack was much faster than the Twin Battle Axe, and it was difficult to catch the attack.

When Ines shouts, everyone moves away from her.

Let’s use Creation of the Universe to fill it back in.
It’s a tedious task, but it seems easier than having powerful monsters flooding in from the southern area.
”Alright, since we haven’t finished clearing yet, let’s hurry on, Kent… Sir Kent.”
Carly urges us to proceed deeper into the cave.
Hearing her words, Manon and Beatrice move ahead.
”Alright, let’s go.”
”Let’s head out.”
We advanced further into the cave.
