Rosvita looked at me with a startled expression.
”I misspoke. We want a supply route that isn’t under Gwain’s influence. I have come here on my lord’s orders. I would like this proposal to be considered as Lady Fabulanova’s suggestion.”
It seemed that Fabulanova was quite desperate.
I thought she had been pushed into a situation where she had to reveal the inner workings of the Dukedom to someone she didn’t even know.
”…Are you not concerned that I might report this proposal to Gwain?”
Rosvita stated without changing her expression.
”Lord Blackdagger would never report to Gwain. Given your actions, it’s clear you’re against Gwain. Anyone who looks can see that. The only reason Gwain doesn’t see you as an adversary is thanks to your father-in-law, Margrave Heido. Gwain is lenient with blood relations.”
Just as Rosvita said, Gwain seemed to think that my father-in-law could keep me in check, so he wasn’t pursuing me too harshly.
My father-in-law also understood his brother’s personality and prevented me from being seen as an adversary.
For now, it seemed that Gwain viewed me as a potential enemy at best.
”Joint resource development with the Black Dragon Dukedom, huh…”
I wasn’t too keen on the idea.
This was mainly because I didn’t want to get involved with the Black Dragon Dukedom until Dee’s issue was resolved.
”Sorry, but… I don’t feel like taking this on… We don’t have the manpower to handle resource development.”
”No! If we can finalize this discussion, the Ugno faction will vanish like mist, and the internal strife in the Dukedom will settle! Please, accept it!”
Rosvita was bowing her head to the floor in a deep apology.
At that moment, a shadow suddenly appeared at the entrance.
”Hey, Kent. If the Dragonewt outside sees Rosvita’s outfit, they’ll go berserk and attack you.”
The figure was Clayd.
Ever since the Black Dragon clan arrived, he had been hiding away, but he had finally shown up again.
Moreover, the first thing he said after a long absence was quite unsettling.
”Mr. Clayd. It’s not like I forced her or anything.”
Rosvita seemed taken aback by the unexpected visitor, but when she saw Clayd, her face instantly twisted in anger, and she opened her mouth to speak unfamiliar words.
Then, a white beam shot out from her mouth, aimed directly at Clayd.
W-what, a beam just came out of her mouth… is that magic?
But, I can’t feel any magic being condensed…
Clayd deployed a physical barrier, scattering the beam.
The dispersed beam struck the ground, creating a large hole.
Damn, if that hit directly, not even a scrap of meat would be left.
”Clayd! You! What face do you have to show up in front of me! Do you know how much Lady Fabulanova has been downcast since you disappeared?!”
Once again, Rosvita spat out a beam of light.
Clayd also blocked the beam with his physical barrier, but the dispersed beam struck the tent, causing it to collapse.
”Rosvita! Wait! I have the key to saving the Black Dragon Dukedom!”
Crawling out from the collapsed tent, I felt a chill at Clayd’s words.
”Don’t make excuses at this point! A key to save the Black Dragon Dukedom? Save it for your dreams!”
”Alright! I’ll tell you! Kent turned our child Delprius, a Black Dragon of the Dragonia clan with Lady Fabulanova, into a maid for the Majin Clan using a transformation necklace!”
Damn you, Clayd!
The way you’re saying it makes it sound like I tricked Dee into being a maid!
”What… you’re saying that’s your child with Lady Fabulanova… your child with Lady Fabulanova! Where is it! Where is it?!”
Hearing that Lady Fabulanova had a child, Rosvita rushed toward Clayd, practically bursting with joy.
”I brought it here. Dee. Say hello.”
At Clayd’s words, Dee peeked out from where she had been hiding.
My chill only grew as the situation progressed step by step.
”I am Delprius, daughter of King Fabulanova of the Black Dragon. So you are Lord Rosvita, the trusted aide of my mother… That white skin and ample chest would surely please Kent… Mmmph.”
Recognizing Dee, Rosvita leaped forward, embracing her tightly.
”Sniff, sniff… This smells like Lady Fabulanova… The smooth skin and youthful appearance of Lady Fabulanova… No doubt about it! You are Lady Fabulanova’s child!”
”Mmmph, Lord Rosvita, this is a bit suffocating. I am not a body pillow.”
”Ah, my apologies, Your Highness Delprius. By the way, the rumor that Lord Blackdagger has taken you captive is just a joke from Clayd, right?”
”That is just my father’s nonsense. I am already Kent’s wife. The main wife is Lady Miriallia, so I am a concubine. Right now, I am in the middle of making children.”
I felt the atmosphere around us grow cold at Dee’s words.
And I sensed a piercing killing intent directed at me.
Oh no, am I going to die?
The source of the gaze is Rosvita.
Clayd, who caused this situation, was whistling and looking in the opposite direction, avoiding eye contact with me.
I couldn’t help but suspect that Clayd, feeling unable to kill me himself, was plotting to have Rosvita do it.
Rosvita uttered an unfamiliar word.
Then, the Dragonewt species that had been hunting gathered near me.
A dire crisis… To come this far and hit a dead end is no joke…
