”No way! I hate being asked for favors.”
Orphée Bleu denied my wish.
At that moment, the tension I had been holding in my hand faded away.
”Stay away from Mr. Kent ── otherwise, the divine child Feria will be your downfall!”
Before me stood Feria, holding a gleaming halberd.
She was still in her maid suit, but now with feather-like wings on her back and a radiant halo above her head.
”Ack! You, a divine child? I thought I wiped out all the divine pursuers who descended upon the demon continent. Why are you still here!”
”Sazukrain desires Orphée’s soul, so I’m here to hunt it down.”
Feria prepared her halberd to attack Orphée Bleu, who had flown past me.
”Feria… what’s with that getup?”
”In short, I’m a descendant of the divine clan, and it’s my mission to hunt down Orphée’s soul.”
Feria, a descendant of the divine clan… They’re the family that rules over the Celestial Kingdom where Orphée Bleu was.
”Tch, now she’s even using a divine child… just how far will she go to lock me up.”
Orphée Bleu was clearly agitated upon hearing that Feria was a divine child.
”Please let yourself be hunted quietly.”
Feria lunged at Orphée Bleu with her halberd.
Her thrusting speed was nothing like the Feria of old; it was as if she were a completely different person, with a sharpness all her own.
”Like hell I’ll go down quietly.”
Orphée Bleu dodged Feria’s thrust with blinding speed.
Then, as he closed in on Feria, he unleashed multiple Ice Shots and Flame Bombs.
THUD! THUD! THUD!
Countless ice particles and flames engulfed Feria, who was about to strike, but she effortlessly deployed a magic barrier without chanting, nullifying everything.
”That won’t work on me! If you want to take me down, you’ll need to use Divine Magic!”
Feria relentless in her assault, unleashed a barrage of slashes and thrusts in a continuous attack towards Orphée Bleu.
”Damn, can you nullify magic too? What a hassle.”
Orphée Bleu acknowledging Feria as a formidable foe, prepared to strike with full force, a black aura rising from his body.
The magic element (mana) released was so potent, it nearly intoxicated me with its power, even from a distance.
”Feria! Watch out! Something’s coming!”
”I won’t let you──”
As Feria swung her halberd down at Orphée Bleu, who was about to cast a spell, the area was engulfed in thunder.
It resembled the Divine Thunderbolt I had unleashed, but this was a far more powerful Divine Magic, beyond comparison.
Feria, in a split second, expanded her barrier to protect me, but the enemy’s Divine Magic was too strong, shattering layer after layer of the barrier, barely holding up.
”I must protect Mr. Kent──”
As the barrier was reduced to its last layer, Feria dove in to cover me.
And as the final layer crumbled, the thunder struck Feria’s body repeatedly.
”Aaah!”
”Feria────! That’s enough! Stop! Orphée Bleu!”
I couldn’t bear to watch Feria’s face contorted in agony as she was struck by thunder right in front of me.
”No──! No one wants Mr. Kent to become someone else──!”
Despite the pain, Feria refused to let me succumb to Orphée Bleu.
”But if this continues, Feria──!”
”It has to be Mr. Kent! The person I love is Mr. Kent from Another World, Horikawa Kento!”
Feria’s lips met mine.
A mysterious power surged within me.
”This might be my last strength… Mr. Kent… You mustn’t make everyone cry… Aaah!”
Feria said those words, and then the last bolt of lightning struck her body.
”A guy who can’t even protect himself and needs a woman to do it? What a total loser. Are you even a man? Even if you’re possessing this body instead of me, you’re still a complete failure, right?”
Orphée Bleu kicked the unconscious Feria off me and then straddled me.
”Alright, we don’t have all day, so let’s just take this body. It’s a precious body, so I won’t damage it. You’ll be able to go back to the other side in an instant.”
Orphée Bleu raised his hand in front of my eyes.
Go back to the other side…?
Leave Milly and the others and go back to that world alone…?
No way, I absolutely refuse!
This is my reality!
”Orphée Bleu!! I won’t let a lowlife like you have my body! I am Kent Blackdagger!!”
As I shouted, the pressure of the magic element (mana) overflowing from my body blew Orphée Bleu off me!
”What! You of all people! You can use the power of the gods!”
”Shut up! I don’t care what kind of power it is, if I can get rid of you, I’ll sell my soul to the devil!”
With that, I took out the Explode Gunlance and activated its artillery mode from my inventory.
The gun legs gripped the ground, and the cannon barrel for firing shot out from the spearhead.
At that moment, the hilt of the Mana Sword that was at my waist was drawn to the barrel and inserted into the muzzle.
Because the area was filled with the remnants of the magic element (mana) released by a large-scale magic, an unprecedented amount of magic element (mana) began to condense.
”What is that weapon, what era is it from? And that magic element is off the charts… but that’s a Mana Sword attached to it!”
Orphée Bleu didn’t seem to know about the Explode Gunlance, and looked at me with suspicion, but when he saw the tremendous amount of magic element (mana) gathering in the barrel, he approached to interfere.
”Not on my watch!”
Clayd stepped in to block Orphée Bleu’s attack.
He was keeping Orphée Bleu at bay, giving me time to charge up my attack.
”Mr. Clayd! Thanks!”
”You idiot! I’m only helping you because Dee would have a heart attack if you died! But I can only hold him off and keep him busy. Get a move on!”
While Clayd kept Orphée Bleu occupied, I finished charging and aimed my weapon.
”Mr. Clayd! I’m going!”
Clayd reacted to my words and unleashed his ice-based Absolute Zero, freezing Orphée Bleu solid.
In that instant, I pulled the trigger.
The concentrated magic element, glowing with an unprecedented color, struck Orphée Bleu like a laser beam.
As the ice coating Orphée Bleu’s surface melted, the laser beam seemed to hit an invisible wall and stopped.
”Don’t think you can stop me! My magic is something you can’t even dream of!”
Orphée Bleu’s determination pushed back against the laser beam from Explode Gunlance.
The laser beam grew fainter as it consumed all the magic element around it.
It’s no use… wait, I’ll pour more of my magic into it!
I pictured my surging magic being channeled into Explode Gunlance’s trigger.
The laser beam returned to its original size, but the blue bar showing my remaining magic power rapidly decreased.
”Die!”
”Ugh! Give me back my body!”
Orphée Bleu pushed back with even more force.
Suddenly, Orphée Bleu’s body began to change.
Parts of his body were starting to crumble.
”Damn it! Not enough magic! I can’t hold it together!”
The blue bar showing my remaining magic power was at 0.
I’ve come this far… just a little more… if I had magic, I could wipe him out… is this it…
──Magic power has dropped to 0. Do you want to continue the attack by consuming Skill Points?
As the log scrolled, options appeared before me.
It seemed I could continue the attack by consuming Skill Points instead of magic.
Without hesitation, I chose to continue.
The number of Remaining Skill Points was decreasing at a terrifying speed.
Orphée Bleu’s body was starting to lose its left arm.
The laser beam continued to clash.
──Remaining Skill Points have been depleted. I will erase a skill to allocate points.
As the log message flowed, the skills I had acquired began to vanish one by one.
Immediately after, the various pains from losing abilities (Skill Out) began to assault my body, twisting my face in agony.
”Ahhh! It hurts! Damn it, just disappear already!”
”You disappear! Grrr!”
The laser beam was darting back and forth between me and Orphée Bleu.
In the meantime, Orphée Bleu’s left arm completely vanished, and now his left leg was starting to disappear.
Then, as everything except the skills gained from the Gift disappeared, a new log message appeared.
──Do you want to convert your acquired job back to magic?
Of course, the only option was YES.
It would mean nothing if I couldn’t wipe out Orphée Bleu after coming this far.
”Damn Orphée Bleu! I’ll shove the job you created right back at you! Rest in peace!”
With each job that disappeared, various pains as a cost surged through my body, and my consciousness began to fade, but Orphée Bleu was already releasing a significant amount of magic element (mana), and his lower body had vanished, leaving only his right hand and upper body.
”Guuuu! There’s no way I’m going to disappear! I am the Demon Lord, and the God of Pleasure and Lust, Demon Lord Orphée Bleu! There’s no way I can lose to a worthless bug!”
