Volume 7 Chapter 15 Interlude: Encounter With Sazukrain

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

Let’s rewind the tape a bit.

If you’re asking how far back, it’s when I blacked out right after I took down Orphée Bleu.

I woke up floating in a space surrounded by white mist.

I moved my arms and legs, trying to grab something, but there was nothing to hold onto.

Feeling a bit weirded out by the floating, I looked around and saw a figure approaching from the mist.

As it got closer, the mist suddenly cleared, and the world transformed into a dazzling light.

I closed my eyes from the brightness, but eventually, the light subsided, and I opened them.

Standing before me was a woman of a certain age.

 Crap!

 I’m not wearing any glasses!

I quickly covered my eyes with my hands.

”It won’t work on me, you can open your eyes.”

 A cool voice echoed around.

Though I was half in doubt, I took my hands away.

The woman had black hair, black eyes, and black skin, seemingly a True Demon Clan member.

She had a beautiful face, but she gave off a cold vibe.

”…Who are you? Where am I? What happened to me?”

The woman replied without changing her expression, like a Noh mask.

”You’ve got a lot of questions. I’m Sazukrain. This is what you called the ‘Celestial Kingdom’ in the Demon Continent of Grimoire. You won the battle against Orphée Bleu, but your soul and vessel have separated, you know?”

The woman introduced herself as Sazukrain.

If it’s the Sazukrain I know, she’s supposed to be the Supreme God of the Celestial Kingdom, but the woman in front of me was just like a normal human, I couldn’t believe she was a God.

”Are you the one who summoned me to Another World?”

”Yes. Orphée was trying to secretly acquire a physical body, so I called you to interfere. When I searched for a soul that would fit perfectly into the vessel created by Orphée, I found none other than the soul of Kento Horikawa. I was truly amazed at how well it matched. So, I manipulated fate to lure you here under the guise of a game.”

Sazukrain spoke in a calm tone.

”So, that’s why I was called here… Then, was that Skill setup your doing?”

”That’s right. I granted women the Skill to fall in love unconditionally to collect those women whose souls Orphée had implanted. Thanks to that, the troublesome women could be separated from Orphée’s fate. I appreciate you for that.”

Sazukrain bluntly admitted that I was given that Skill to sever the ties with the women Orphée Bleu was trying to resurrect using souls.

”I could feel some manipulation, but if the mastermind is a god, there’s not much I can do… The power of the Skill was there, but I was genuinely happy to have met everyone.”

”Since you have a soul similar to Orphée’s, I thought you might exercise more self-control, but surprisingly, you were quite restrained with your use of the Skill. Should I say you were timid since you weren’t popular over there?”

”That’s part of it, but I’m also afraid of the power of that Skill. It’s a Skill that can change other people’s lives, and I think it should be used sparingly. Well, if you ask me if I can control myself around cute girls, I might just have a will softer than tofu. I want to try to use it as little as possible…”

”Exactly, that’s the difference between you and Orphée.”

Until then, Sazukrain had been expressionless like a mask, but now she lovingly caressed the gem in her palm.

”Is that the soul of Orphée Bleu?”

”Yes. My beloved brother and the man who took my first. Because of him, I was shackled as the Supreme God of this world. Once, he was tempted by an evil woman named Virsina and ran away from me, but I won’t let him go until the world disappears.”

Sazukrain’s expression, which had been frozen like ice, transformed as she nuzzled the gem with a smug grin.

 Oh man!

 Is this that yandere thing?

I wonder if the gods in this world are okay with that…

The jewel being nuzzled by Sazukrain was faintly flickering.

Orphée Bleu’s personality being like that might have a lot to do with his sister’s influence… Thinking about that, I feel a little sympathy for him.

Sazukrain spoke to the jewel while nuzzling it, sharing an old tale.

Orphée Bleu was born as the legitimate child of the Celestial Emperor, an outstanding warrior of the Divine Race, and was promised the position of the next Celestial Emperor with his sister Sazukrain as his assistant.

However, one day he suddenly killed his father, the Celestial Emperor, and fell to the mortal realm with a part of the Divine Race.

The reason why Orphée killed his father is unknown even to Sazukrain, but she speculated that he must have been influenced by Virsina’s sweet words and was led to kill him.

The immortal Celestial Emperor was killed by his own child, causing turmoil among the residents of the Celestial Kingdom.

The panic was calmed when Sazukrain declared she would succeed the Supreme God, the Celestial Emperor.

The residents voiced that Orphée Bleu, who killed the Celestial Emperor, should be captured, leading to the formation of an expedition team.

However, since the Divine Race became mortal upon descending to the ground, very few volunteered.

Therefore, Sazukrain decided to create a ‘Divine Child,’ an artificial human with Divine Race traits.

The ‘Divine Child’ was a Divine Race with a predetermined lifespan, possessing extremely excellent abilities but losing their immortality.
