For a few days, there was an awkward feeling between Haruto and Harue. But when Akane and Yui came to visit, day by day, they returned to their usual selves.
Haruto was not always at home. Sometimes he went to a hotel with Akane or Yui. Two weeks passed quickly, and soon it was time to return to Chiba.
”Harue-san, I’m leaving!”
”Mom, I’m heading out!”
”Both of you, be careful. Contact me when you arrive!”

Yui did not come to see them off because of her hospital work, so only Harue saw them off. Akane, who had spent a month relaxing at her parents’ house, felt no sense of despair. But Haruto, who had only two weeks, looked a little sad.
Traveling by the linear shinkansen was so fast that they arrived while still talking. Then each went to their own apartments.
”Phew—university starts again the day after tomorrow.”
Haruto said this as he lay down on his bed. Suddenly, he thought about that day…

If Shouma hadn’t come back, Haruto would surely have crossed the line with Harue. But that was only Haruto’s feeling. He did not know how Harue truly felt.
