Chapter 129 How To Take A Proper Bath
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
The last time Harue helped Haruto take a bath was when he was almost in middle school.
Even then, he had already started to grow fast.
Now, seeing how much taller and more grown-up he was, Harue felt surprised deep inside.
She looked at him for a moment. He was no longer a little boy. His body had become that of a teenager.
Haruto noticed her pause. He stopped wiping his arm for a moment, then started again, trying to act normal.
But when her eyes stopped on him again, and her hand also stopped moving, he began to worry.
His thoughts raced in confusion.
(Is Mom… Is she also surprised by how much I’ve grown?)
Haruto stared ahead and tried not to think too hard, but the feeling stayed in his chest.
Harue quickly looked away and started helping him again. Her face was a little red, though she didn’t say anything.
Haruto had seen her reaction.
But he didn’t feel any kind of desire. His body was weak, and his mind was tired.
That was how sick he still was.
After she finished wiping him, Harue helped him into clean clothes and guided him to lie on the bed.
From that day, Harue began to take care of Haruto like she had done when he was a child.
She cleaned the rooms, did the laundry, cooked soft foods, and wiped his body with care every morning.
On the second day, he could eat soup without throwing up. That same day, she washed his hair with warm water.
She kept thinking only about Haruto.
Even though she sometimes asked herself if this much care was too close or strange,
something about being by his side again made her feel calm.
By the fourth day, Haruto could eat small, soft vegetables. He still couldn’t eat much, so Harue gave him small meals many times a day.
She walked up to his bed and looked down with a gentle smile.
”We should take a bath today, Haru-kun.”
Haruto looked up and gave a small nod.
”Yeah… okay.”
He had been getting sponge baths every day, but he still scratched himself during sleep.
Harue thought maybe a full bath would help more.
She prepared everything.
About an hour later, they walked into the small bathroom together, both of them completely undressed.
There was no shame. They had done this many times before.
Harue stepped into the bath and looked around.
”Haru-kun, you’ve grown so big. It’s a little tight now.”
She laughed softly.
Haruto sat down next to her and gave a small smile.
”Yeah. It is.”
The bathtub in this apartment was smaller than the one at home.
Now, they had to sit close together.
Haruto rested his back against the tub wall. The warm water helped relax his muscles.
His thoughts drifted to the past.
In his last life, people often got into the tub first, then washed after. That used to be normal.
(I wonder why things changed.)
He thought quietly to himself.
(Now people say washing first is the right way… but which is better?)
He remembered something he once read about the proper way to bathe, based on health advice.
The Medical Way to Bathe
1. Drink water first
You sweat in the bath, so it’s good to drink water before entering.
2. Pour warm water over the body
Start from the hands and feet. Then move to the chest and head.
This helps clean dirt and stop blood pressure changes.
3. Half-body soak
Sit in the water up to your chest for about 1–2 minutes to get used to the heat.
4. Full-body soak
When your forehead sweats, your body is warm enough.
If you feel too hot, step out.
5. Wash your hair and body
The warm water already cleans your skin. You don’t need to scrub hard.
6. Full-body soak again
7. Get out of the bath
Dry off and stay warm. Don’t catch a chill.
8. Drink more water
9. Rest and relax
This was the best way to take a bath.
But Haruto was still weak, so they would take it even slower.
Harue picked up the small bucket and stood up.
”Haru-kun, let’s wash now.”
She reached out her hand.
Haruto nodded and took it.
”Okay.”
They moved to the washing space beside the tub.
Harue knelt down and picked up the shampoo.
She poured warm water onto Haruto’s hair and used soft fingers to massage his scalp.
Haruto closed his eyes.
(She’s so gentle… like back then.)
The water ran down his back. The smell of soap filled the air.
Harue worked quietly, washing each part with care.
There was no noise, no rush. Only the soft sound of water, and the quiet bond between them.
