At last, the store was complete.
Its name? Haru—Spring. A simple name, chosen because it’s run by Haruto and Harue. Straightforward, yes—but they liked it, and that was reason enough.
The building featured two separate entrances: the right led to Haruto’s massage parlor, while the left opened into Harue’s esthetic salon. Each side operated independently, with no overlap between them.
Inside, the reception areas, waiting rooms, and restrooms were all kept apart. This layout ensured that clients of either side would never cross paths—a design choice made with care.
At the center of the building sat the manager’s office and a staff break room, with a hallway looping around the middle to connect everything. This allowed both Haruto and Harue to move freely between their respective businesses without disturbing customers.
The biggest investment, without question, was in the soundproof treatment rooms.
Haruto’s goal was to offer specialized massages… well, let’s just say, tailored to individual needs. Discretion was essential.
On Harue’s side, the esthetic salon included two private treatment rooms, each equipped with showers and restrooms. Haruto’s massage parlor featured two fully soundproofed rooms with similar amenities. Additionally, there were open treatment spaces separated only by curtains, designed to accommodate up to three clients at once. These shared a common shower and restroom area.
Staff entrances were secured with fingerprint scanners, and each room was under surveillance—though only for safety. It’s not as if the monitors installed in the manager’s office were meant for peeking…
In terms of operations, Harue’s salon was set to run on a reservation-only basis after an initial first-come, first-served trial period. With years of experience in the esthetic field and a number of loyal clients already lined up, there was no immediate need to hire extra staff. If bookings filled up, they’d consider it later.
As for Haruto’s massage parlor, business was expected to start slowly. Unlike Harue, he didn’t have an existing client base yet. However, Yoshimi—who had promised to join after finishing her current position in a remote area—was scheduled to arrive sometime next year. Until then, Haruto planned to handle reception duties on his own.
”It’s starting to feel like a real shop,” he muttered, gazing at the reception counter, deep in thought about the final layout.
”Hm? Yui-san? Something wrong?”
Yui, Akane’s mother, had entered quietly while he was still immersed in planning. The shop had been built right next to Miyoshi Clinic—run by Akane’s parents.
”I just came by to see how things were coming along,” she said with a gentle smile.
”It’s all thanks to you. I think it’s turning into a really great place.”
”Hehe, then I’m glad I handed over the land.”
Yui had purchased the land under her name years ago, originally planning to use it as extra parking space for the clinic. Because of that, she’d managed to get it at a reduced price.
Of course, Akane’s father, Shūichi, had been firmly against selling the land to Haruto. But in the end, Akane persuaded him, and everything went through smoothly. Now, Haruto had secured a prime location without any complications.
”It’s not much, but if anything happens at the clinic, I’ll be glad to help out,” Haruto offered.
”That’s kind of you… Though now that you’re back, not being able to goof off whenever we want is a little disappointing…”
”Haha, well… that’s part of my agreement with Akane. I’ve got to behave.”
Yui already knew about Haruto’s memories from his past life—and his abilities. He had judged it best to be honest with her, just as he had been with Harue. There was a clear boundary: no wandering off to enjoy himself while Akane was away.
Right now, Akane was in the midst of a rigorous three-year clinical training program to earn her specialization. While she focused on her future, Haruto was quietly laying the foundation for his.
With preparations moving steadily forward, the grand opening of Haru was finally on the horizon.

• Yoshimi – Female. A high school girl who guides Haruto to her grandmother’s house. She is wary of doctors due to past experiences and becomes agitated when Haruto reveals her grandmother’s condition. Her relationship with Haruto is tense, and she sides with her family in distrusting him.
