Chapter 172 Vague Memories

Haruto’s tendency to get carried away had finally backfired, and now Rin lay completely limp and motionless before him.
(Oh no… Did I go too far and hurt Ayase-senpai?)
Even if she wasn’t a virgin, coming for a simple massage and ending up like this would be enough to make anyone want to disappear out of embarrassment.
(I have to cover this up somehow…)
Luckily, Rin had passed out. Seizing the moment, Haruto carefully laid her face down, removed her treatment gown, and left her exposed.
(If it looks like she just fell asleep during a lower back massage, maybe I can get away with this…)
He thought removing her gown would cover things up. But when he noticed the dampness—not from oil, but something else—he panicked.
(I’ll cover it up with oil!)
Without hesitation, Haruto poured a generous amount of oil on Rin’s skin and continued with a pretend lower back massage.
Slowly, Rin began to stir and mumble softly.
”Ugh… um… huh?”
”You’re awake? You must have been really tired to fall asleep during the massage.”
”Huh!? I fell asleep?” (Wait, you were massaging my chest, right?)
”You stopped responding halfway through.”
”…Oh, sorry.” (D-did you actually take off my gown while I was out?)
Though it wasn’t Haruto’s original plan, Rin was more worried about being uncovered than about falling asleep—and somehow, that worked in his favor.
”Anyway, the massage is done! How does your body feel?”
”Oh, right! Just a moment…”
Haruto draped a bathrobe over Rin’s bare skin. She slipped it on and began to move.
”I-it’s amazing! The pain’s completely gone!”
”That’s great to hear!”
”Thank you so much, Haruto-kun! Your massages really are incredible!”
”The only downside is the embarrassment it causes because it’s so effective,” Haruto said, brushing it off casually. “I don’t mean anything strange—it’s just the only way to get results.”
”That’s not true! You fixed a problem I was thinking of having surgery for after just two massages! A little embarrassment is worth it.”
Hearing that made Haruto genuinely happy. “Alright, now go take a shower.”
”Okay, I’ll go!”
(Phew, glad I managed to cover it up.)
With a sigh of relief, Haruto watched as Rin walked toward the shower room with a refreshed step.

Inside the shower room…
(I’m really glad I came to Haruto-kun’s shop… Though it’s a bit embarrassing being naked and having my chest and hips touched…)
Rin stepped under the warm water, washing away the oil from her skin.
(That chest massage felt different… I kind of remember it… It wasn’t like anything I’ve done to myself before…)
As she rinsed, a strange sensation caught her off guard.
(Wait… why am I still feeling damp?)
She carefully washed herself and realized the wetness wasn’t from the oil—it was something else, something softer, different.
(I really did feel something, didn’t I?)
Vague memories of an unfamiliar sensation began to surface.
(What if I actually lost consciousness because of that…)
(Haruto-kun lied to me to protect me from embarrassment…)
What Rin didn’t realize was that Haruto’s lie was meant to cover up a moment he thought was awkward. Yet, ironically, it left a quiet impression on her.
