Chapter 204 The Story Four Years Later.txt

”Smooth,” Renka said, lightly stroking her arm.

”Supple,” Mebae murmured with a pleased smile.

”Wow, it’s amazing!” Yuzuki exclaimed, her eyes shining.

The three who had asked Haruto for massages—Renka, Mebae, and Yuzuki—had adjusted their schedules right away and visited the store as soon as Haruto agreed. Now, having just finished their sessions, they were sitting together, sharing their thoughts.

”I’m glad it lived up to your expectations,” Haruto said, placing the used towels into a laundry basket.

”Hey, Haruto, what’s next?” Renka asked, glancing at the clock. “It’s still too early for dinner, right?”

They were planning to have dinner at Akane’s house and spend the night there. But since the massage ended earlier than planned, they found themselves with unexpected free time.

”Let’s have tea here,” Mebae suggested, looking around the cozy room.

”Agreed!” Yuzuki said, her face lighting up.

”I’ll help too!” Renka added, jumping to her feet.

And so, on a whim, they decided to enjoy tea time at Haruto’s store.

”Renka, how’s your training going?” Akane asked as she brought out cups.

”Boring… four years is way too long,” Renka sighed, resting her chin on her hand.

She had entered plastic surgery, a specialty requiring a four-year residency. With her family running a cosmetic clinic, the path was set—but that didn’t make it any more fun.

”Mine’s longer,” Mebae said, blowing on her tea.

”Ah, right. You’re in dermatology,” Akane nodded.

Among medical fields, dermatology was the only one with a five-year residency. For reference, Akane’s own field, obstetrics and gynecology, required three years.

”Still in residency… doctors really are something else,” Yuzuki said softly, holding her teacup with both hands.

”I’ll be thirty-one when mine ends… I’ll be an old lady by then,” Mebae sighed with a teasing smile.

”Pfft! Thirty-one isn’t old!” Renka said, laughing.

”Exactly! Besides, with Haruto around, your skin will stay beautiful forever,” Akane added with a grin.

Haruto listened from the counter, quietly thinking to himself that the old saying really was true—Three women make a crowd.

※ A Japanese proverb suggesting that when three women gather, things get noisy.

”Yuzuki, how’s work going?” Haruto asked, turning to her.

”Um… I’m still not great at talking to people…” Yuzuki said, lowering her gaze slightly.

Back in college, Haruto had often treated Yuzuki with his ability whenever they met. The time spent with their close-knit group had helped her a lot. Those once murky feelings inside her had slowly faded away.

Even so, while the darkness had lifted, the scars still lingered. Yuzuki still struggled with conversation—especially when it came to strangers or men.

”Yuzuki should stay with us,” Renka said gently.

”I think so too,” Mebae agreed, sipping her tea.

”Um… If that’s possible, I’d be really happy, but… I’m not a doctor…” Yuzuki murmured, her fingers tightening slightly on the cup.

”What are you talking about?” Akane said, smiling. “An accountant is exactly what my family’s hospital needs. And Haruto’s store too!”

”Yeah, why not work for Haruto?” Renka said, leaning in.

”Supple skin, every day,” Mebae added playfully.

”I-I can’t!” Yuzuki stammered, her face turning red. “Besides, I still have a lot to learn…”

 ”……..”

Akane suddenly fell silent, staring at Haruto with a look of thoughtfulness.

 ”…What’s wrong, Akane?” Renka asked.

”Hey, Haruto,” Akane said softly. “I think it’s okay to tell these three now.”

Haruto understood right away what she meant.

She was talking about that—his ability.

Akane was saying it would be safe to share it with them.

Of course, Haruto trusted the three of them deeply.

Even if one of them ended up revealing his secret someday, he could say without hesitation—he wouldn’t regret it.

”I feel the same way,” Haruto said with a small nod.

 ”””…Huh?”””

The three girls tilted their heads in sync, question marks practically floating above them after hearing Akane and Haruto’s short exchange.

That moment, Haruto made his decision. He would tell them everything.

”I’m telling you, he’s from another world!”

”No, Renka, that’s wrong!” Akane cut in, shaking her head. “He’s a modern-day guy who almost became an isekai hero!”

”M-Mebae… could you not say it like that?” Renka whispered, frowning a little.

But even after hearing the truth, the three didn’t panic.

In fact, their reactions were oddly calm.

They had already suspected something was off. Haruto’s massages were just too effective—unnatural, almost like magic.

Rather than shock, it felt like everything finally made sense to them.

”We’re not done talking yet,” Akane said as she stepped forward.

She began explaining Haruto’s idea—how he planned to use his strange ability to help others from now on.

Even though everything about it sounded unbelievable, miracles had already started happening.

They were going to turn that mystery into something real.

”I see,” Renka said, nodding slowly. “So we’ll protect this secret… while helping patients together.”

”Sounds fun,” Mebae added with a grin.

”I-I want to help too!” Akane said, her eyes shining with excitement.

”What do you think?” she asked, turning to the others. “If everyone’s okay with it… I’d really like us to do this together.”

”I feel the same way,” Haruto said firmly. “I’d be honored if you all joined me.”

If he had to be honest, he wished Renka or Mebae had been a specialist in surgery. That would’ve made things easier.

But there was no time for luxury. Doctors could treat patients across many fields.

 A specialist wasn’t everything.

”I’ll switch to surgical training,” Mebae announced out of nowhere.

It was almost the end of her first year, so switching departments now would be tough.

Everyone tried to talk her out of it.

 But—

”Surgery takes three years. If I restart now, I’ll save a whole year!”

Her reasoning was ridiculous—but somehow, it made sense in her head.

Sure, dermatology was five years total, and she still had four left.

Switching to a three-year surgical course would mean finishing a year earlier.

Not exactly a good deal… but technically, she wasn’t wrong.

”Now I’ll be smooth and spotless every day!” she said with a serious face.

 ”…”

At that point, arguing seemed pointless.

But still, Haruto couldn’t deny how much it helped.

Mebae probably understood that too. That’s why she offered.

And so—though it was still four years away—

the people Haruto needed had already started to gather around him.

Notes:

• Renka – A second-year medical student whose family runs a cosmetic surgery clinic. She has extensive knowledge of aesthetics and is the first to notice the abnormality in Haruto’s massage. She is close friends with Mebae and Yuzuki.

• Mebae – Munesawa Mebae. A second-year medical student and close friend of Renka. She is less interested in the abnormality of Haruto’s massage but is straightforward and assertive, as seen when she asks Haruto to stop using her surname.
