Volume 2 Chapter 20 Visitors
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
About a week had passed since I began my new life at the mansion.
One of the members of the adventurer party who had fought the Dire Wolf alongside me in the Magic Forest¹ came to visit.
The female archer, Reina, had come to see me at the mansion.
”It’s been a while, Reina. How did you find out about this place?”
”I-I’m sorry. I just really wanted to come and thank you properly… I begged Balan-san at the buying office until he finally told me where you lived,” Reina said.
”…I see, Balan, huh. Well, there’s no sense just standing around talking out here. Why don’t you come inside?” I asked.
”Ah, yes,” Reina replied.
I open the gate and invite her into the mansion.
I lead Reina into the dining room and have her take a seat in a chair at the table, before sitting down directly across from her.
Reina looks around the interior of the room, her eyes wide with surprise.
”R-Ryuichi-san, I had no idea you were living in such a massive mansion. I’m completely shocked,” Reina said.
”Until recently, I was just bouncing around from inn to inn, but I managed to acquire this mansion just a short while ago. Setting that aside, Reina, how have you been since then? Have you managed to bounce back?” I asked.
”Yes. When Allen died… I was incredibly depressed for a while, but I’m doing okay now,” Reina replied.
”I see. It’s a shame about what happened to him. Was he your boyfriend?” I asked.
”N-No, it’s not like that at all! Allen and John are just old friends from back home; we all grew up in the same village together. …But really, if Ryuichi-san hadn’t come to save me back then, I definitely would have been killed,” Reina said.
”Yeah, you’re right. It was a pretty close call. I’m just glad I managed to make it in time,” I said.
”That’s why… I really wanted to say thank you so much. …R-Ryuichi-san, you looked incredibly cool out there,” Reina said.
They had been surrounded and attacked by a whole pack of wolves the size of lions, after all.
If I hadn’t stepped in to rescue them, every single one of them would have undoubtedly ended up dead.
”After everything that happened, I talked things over with John, and we decided that we’re going to stop fighting monsters in the Magic Forest entirely. Just thinking about the possibility of going through something like that again…” Reina said.
”I see. That’s probably a smart move. Have you decided what you’re going to do next?” I asked.
”Yes, I was thinking that working as a caravan escort might be a good option,” Reina replied.
”Oh, an escort? If you’re tagging along with a caravan, does that mean you’ll be moving to a different town?” I asked.
”It looks like it will turn out that way… I’m hoping to head out as soon as an escort request comes up in the near future,” Reina said.
”Hmm. Does caravan escort work actually pay well?” I asked.
”It’s usually around five Copper Coins a day. Guarding a caravan while constantly on the move is exhausting, so the pay is a bit lower compared to hunting in the Magic Forest. Still, I figure it’s much better than risking our lives against monsters,” Reina replied.
”But don’t bandits and thieves target caravans too? Reina, have you ever actually killed another human being before?” I asked.
”Of course I have. I might not look it, but I am an experienced adventurer, after all. Though, I have to admit, it’s never a particularly pleasant thing to do,” Reina said.
So from here on out, she intends to spend her life wandering from town to town, village to village.
It sounds like a grueling lifestyle; I certainly wouldn’t want to do it myself.
”That’s exactly why I wanted to give you some kind of proper thanks before I leave Grimm for good. …Is there… isn’t there anything at all that I can do for you?” Reina asked.
”Hmm? No, you don’t need to worry about that. Just knowing you feel that way is more than enough for me,” I said.
”A-Ano… if it’s alright with you… before I go… with Ryuichi-san, I could…” Reina muttered.
I sit back and quietly observe Reina from across the table.
Taking a closer look at her, she really does have a pretty cute face.
She might not be an absolute drop-dead gorgeous beauty, but she is definitely pretty enough that she would easily be considered the most beautiful girl in a small countryside village.
She looks down, nervously fidgeting across from me while her brown ponytail sways slightly with her movements.
”…Reina. Are you really sure you’re okay with an old guy like me as your partner?” I asked.
”! …Y-Yes, I am!” Reina exclaimed.
”I see. Well, that certainly makes me happy. Come to think of it, how old are you anyway, Reina?” I asked.
”I’ve already turned nineteen… What about you, Ryuichi-san?” Reina asked.
”I’m forty,” I replied.
”Eh! You don’t look forty at all!” Reina exclaimed.
”Is that so? I told you already, I’m just an old guy. Reina is nineteen, huh… I see. Around what age did you have s*x for the first time?” I asked.
”The first time was… I think I was around fifteen? …” Reina muttered.
”Fifteen, huh. So that was four years ago. Hmm? In that case, when was the last time you actually did it?” I asked.
”Let’s see, because of everything that happened back then… I guess it was about three years ago?” Reina replied.
”Hou. That’s quite a long time ago. Since you’re still so young, your sexual desires must be building up quite a bit. Do you usually take care of yourself pretty often?” I asked.
”Eh… that, well… yes…” Reina stammered.
”Just as I thought. Hey, do you mind showing me those fingers of yours for a second?” I asked.
”Y-Yes…” Reina said.
It seems she always uses her right hand whenever she m**urbates.
Taking the right hand that Reina tentatively extends toward me into both of my own, I gently stroke her fingers.
She has remarkably beautiful fingers; it looks like pulling a bowstring doesn’t leave her with rough calluses after all.
I bring her hand closer to my face and take a quiet sniff.
Sniff, sniff… sniff, sniff…
”Ah, stop it, don’t sniff them!” Reina cried.
”Hou. So Reina’s p**sy smells exactly like this, does it?” I said.
In reality, I didn’t actually smell anything at all, but I decide to say it out loud just to tease her.
Keeping my nose pressed close to Reina’s fingers to catch her scent, I carefully study the shifting expressions on her face.
She keeps her head pointed downward, completely hiding her blushing face behind her bangs while muttering in a tiny, embarrassed whisper, “Stop it, it’s dirty… don’t…”
Deciding that I’ve played around with her just about enough, I release her hand with a deliberate gesture, acting as if I had suddenly remembered something important.
”Right, I completely forgot. Actually, I have a very serious favor to ask of you, Reina,” I said.
”……Eh? Wait, what?” Reina asked.
”How would you like to come work for me?” I proposed.
”Eh? Um…” Reina stammered.
”Of course, I intend to pay you a proper wage. On top of that, I’m planning to hire John along with you. What do you say?” I asked.
”Eh… a-ano… what about the thing we were just talking about… eh?” Reina asked.
”The work I want to assign to you is primarily guarding the mansion grounds and acting as my personal escorts whenever I go out. I’m sure other tasks will pop up here and there as we go, though,” I explained.
”…S-Security and escort duty, you mean? …I mean, being offered a steady job like that is a huge help, but…” Reina said.
”Reina. Your skills with a bow are absolutely undeniable. More than that, you have a genuinely kind heart. Because you’re exactly that kind of person, you’re the one I want to rely on for this,” I said.
”Ryuichi-san… hearing you say that makes me incredibly happy… but what about the conversation we were having just a moment ago…?” Reina asked.
”Oh, don’t worry, there’s absolutely no need for you to live on the premises. It’s perfectly fine if you just show up in the morning and stay until evening. I’m not entirely sure what the going market rate is for this kind of work, though. What does it usually run?” I asked.
”Um, let’s see…. If it’s just standard security and escort work within the town limits… it would probably cost about three Silver Coins for a ten-day period, I think,” Reina replied.
”Then let’s start with an initial ten days. Depending on how things go, I might ask you to stay on for longer. Well? Will you take the job?” I asked.
”If those are the terms, it’s honestly a better offer than anything I could have ever asked for myself! I would absolutely love to take the job… but, um…” Reina said.
”Great, then it’s a deal. Is it alright if we process the formal employment contract through the Adventurer’s Guild?” I asked.
”…Yes. Would it be alright if you came along with me to the Adventurer’s Guild a bit later today, Ryuichi-san?” Reina asked.
”Yeah, of course,” I replied.
My sexual needs are already perfectly taken care of by Nier and Helga.
While I do think Reina is quite cute, she still falls several notches below those two when it comes to pure physical appeal.
Besides, Reina is a Free Citizen. She is completely different from a Slave.
If I clumsily lay a hand on her and accidentally end up getting her pregnant, it could easily turn into a massive legal and financial nightmare regarding parental responsibility.
I have absolutely zero desire to get dragged into tedious, complicated drama.
It’s much better to just have Reina be genuinely useful to me as a reliable bodyguard.
We headed over to the Adventurer’s Guild together and wrapped up all the contract paperwork.
I made sure to have them explicitly include a strict confidentiality clause stating that any information she happens to learn while inside my mansion cannot be leaked to the outside world under any circumstances.
If she breaks that agreement, she will face severe official penalties directly from the guild itself.
It’s mostly just for my own peace of mind, but having that safety net is certainly better than having nothing at all.
Though, if she ever does choose to intentionally leak my secrets, she is already destined to be permanently disposed of by my own hands anyway.
I paid the required rewards for both of them directly to the Adventurer’s Guild, which included an additional twenty percent processing fee on top of their base pay.
Once Reina and John successfully complete their duties, they will receive their wages safely through the guild.
As far as I’m concerned, this initial ten-day period is nothing more than a temporary trial run.
Whether or not I decide to extend their contracts will depend entirely on how they perform after I’ve had some time to observe them.

In the afternoon.
I decided it was time to build a proper toilet.
Since two more people are going to be added to the property starting tomorrow, our daily amount of bodily waste is suddenly going to double all at once.
As expected, dealing with the accumulated feces and urine of four people is a major hassle, and I absolutely refuse to just let it sit around or drain freely within the mansion grounds.
The specific spot I chose to install the toilet is located a short distance away from the outdoor Bathhouse I constructed the other day.
Since John and Reina will be spending their working hours guarding the courtyard, I decided to build it outdoors so that they can easily use it as well.
I have absolutely no intention of letting either of them step foot inside the actual mansion itself.
That interior space is strictly a private sanctuary reserved exclusively for myself, Nier, and Helga.
Naturally, I won’t be providing them with any free food or drinks while they’re on duty either, considering I am already paying them a perfectly fair, precise wage.
Just like the Bathhouse, the toilet facility is constructed by completely hollowing out a massive rock formation.
It comes fully equipped with a sturdy roof, ensuring that it remains perfectly comfortable to use even on rainy days.
I build two separate stalls to keep the genders completely divided, installing comfortable, Western-style toilet bowls in both of them.
Right next to each toilet bowl, I arrange to have a large wooden bucket constantly filled with clean water.
We don’t have access to an electronic Washlet around here, after all.
As for the collection buckets positioned directly beneath the toilet seats, I made a formal arrangement through the Adventurer’s Guild to have the waste entirely cleaned out and removed twice a day, once in the morning and once in the afternoon.
With this new system in place, Helga is finally officially laid off from her former position as the mansion’s dedicated filth disposal officer.
”Goshujin-sama! This new bathroom is incredibly easy to use!” Nier exclaimed.
”Haha. Well, Nier was always accidentally getting the bathroom floor completely soaked with pee before. With a setup like this, you won’t end up spilling it everywhere, right?” I said.
”Au… I’m so sorry…” Nier muttered.
”Helga. I’m completely shutting down the old toilet inside the living quarters starting today, so you won’t have to handle any more feces and urine from here on out,” I said.
”Un, I understand!” Helga replied.
Taking full advantage of this opportunity, the indoor toilet facility is permanently abolished, keeping Helga completely away from dealing with human waste ever again.
As a well-deserved reward for all of her consistent hard work, I intend to let her live a perfectly normal, dignified life from here on out.
In this manner, the overall hygienic environment of my mansion managed to improve drastically overnight.

The next day.
Right around the time we finished up our morning breakfast, Reina and John arrived at the estate.
I had explicitly ordered them beforehand to arrive a bit later in the morning, since having people show up at the crack of dawn would just be a massive nuisance to me.
”Ryuichi-san. Good morning. We’ll be in your care starting today,” Reina said.
”Old man—no, I mean, Boss Ryuichi! Man, this really is a ridiculously massive house you’ve got here!” John exclaimed.
”You’re finally here. It’s been a while, John. Starting today, I’m officially trusting the two of you with the security and defense of this mansion,” I said.
”Yeah, just leave it all to me!” John replied.
I step forward to introduce Nier and Helga to the two of them.
”This is Nier and Helga. You guys should already be familiar with Helga from your time around the Adventurer’s Guild, right?” I said.
”My name is Nier. It is a pleasure to meet you,” Nier said.
”I’m Helga. John-san, Reina-san, it really has been a long time, hasn’t it!” Helga exclaimed.
”Yeah, great to see you… wait, holy crap, aren’t you Helga-san?!” John shouted.
”I look forward to working with both of you,” Reina said.
”Both of them are my personal Slaves, but they are women that I am especially fond of. Make sure you treat them with the exact same level of respect that you would show to me,” I instructed.
”Yes, I understand completely,” Reina replied.
”Got it, Boss,” John said.
I give them strict instructions that whenever Nier or Helga need to leave the mansion grounds, at least one of them must always tag along to act as a personal bodyguard.
With this arrangement in place, Nier will finally be able to go out and handle the grocery shopping completely on her own.
Since Helga doesn’t own any proper Western clothing yet, I hand a sack of money over to Nier and tell her to take Helga out to buy some new outfits.
I spent the entirety of the first day relaxing around the mansion while quietly keeping an eye on how well the two of them handled their security duties.
Occasionally looking around the yard, they seemed to be guarding vigilantly without carelessness.
When evening arrived and the two of them headed home for the day, I called Nier and Helga over to get their thoughts on the matter.
Since neither of them noted any particular issues, I felt comfortable leaving the mansion’s defense entirely in their hands, deciding that I would finally head back into the Magic Forest starting tomorrow.
* * *
The next day.
After eating a hearty breakfast, I made my way into the Magic Forest entirely on my own.
Right now, I am standing in a secluded area located a bit further past the banks of the Melin River.
If I stay out this far, there’s virtually no chance of any regular adventurers stumbling across me.
Keeping my recent grueling struggle against that Orc firmly in mind, I intend to use this isolated spot to undergo some serious, intensive Magic² training.
While I technically could train inside my Interdimensional Space², trying to practice inside a completely pitch-black void where absolutely nothing exists ultimately limits the variety of things I can actually accomplish.
My training regimen for this session has two very specific objectives.
The successful mastery of multitasking, and the development of entirely new Magic.
Multitasking.
The truth is, I am still not properly accustomed to activating multiple spells simultaneously.
During my fight with the Orc, if I had been able to use Fly³ to zip through the air at high speeds while simultaneously bombarding it with a continuous stream of different offensive Magic spells, I shouldn’t have struggled nearly as much as I did.
My primary goal now is to force my mind to process multiple distinct types of Magic in parallel.
I will continue to practice this even while relaxing at the mansion by constantly cycling through smaller, low-level spells.
New Magic.
The absolute bare minimum requirement for this new spell is that it must possess enough raw destructive power to cleanly and reliably finish off incredibly sturdy monsters on the level of an Orc.
There are bound to be creatures out there that are far more powerful than an Orc.
It’s highly likely that there are monsters lurking in this world whose power is completely beyond anything I can currently imagine.
I will develop Magic with higher power and a wider area of effect.
Along with that, powerful defense Magic is necessary.
Even if I can use powerful Magic, after all, I am just a flesh-and-blood human.
Leaving the escorting of Nier and the others to John and Reina, I intensely train at this location during the day.
I finish off the approaching monsters one after another as part of my training.
It also serves to earn some pocket money.
* * *
- One week later.
Several new Magics were completed.
Single-target attack Magic.
I create a conical rock with a diameter of 10 centimeters.
I float it 1 meter in front of me and add rotation to it.
I fire the rock bullet, which is rotating at high speed while making a sharp whirring hiss, toward a large tree.
”‘Stone Bullet’⁵“
With a loud bang, it penetrated the large tree.
By changing the material from ice to rock and adding rotation, it has higher power than Ice Bullet.
I approach the impact point of the rock bullet.
I find the rock bullet that stuck into another large tree and stopped.
”Vanish”
The rock bullet stuck in the large tree disappeared with a crumbling rustle.
I understood that the Elemental Manifestation created with Magic can be vanished at will.
If it flies away from me, I lose control, but if I get close, I regain control again.
For example, this means that while Nier is sitting and doing her business on a Western-style toilet made with Magic, I could instantly make only the toilet bowl vanish.
Next.
I make a conical rock bullet and float it 1 meter ahead.
I heat the rock bullet to red-hot, just one step before it starts to melt.
Heat is radiated from the bright red rock bullet, making the surroundings hot.
After rotating it sufficiently fast, I drive it toward a large tree.
”‘Lava Bullet’⁶“
With a loud crashing boom, large holes opened up in several large trees that were on the line of fire.
The path where the Lava Bullet passed is scorched while making a sizzling sound.
The large tree where the Lava Bullet, having lost its momentum, finally stuck is starting to burn brightly.
In actual combat, a smaller and more maneuverable one might be better.
Even if it is only about the size of a gun bullet, if someone takes it to the head, death would be unavoidable.
The already developed Ice Bullet.
The fact that I can take away heat from liquid to make ice means that I can manipulate the heat of matter.
That hypothesis was correct.
I was able to add heat to the rock created by Magic, and it was also possible to heat the air.
Defense Magic.
I sit cross-legged on the ground.
”‘Ice Sphere’⁷“
Centering on myself, I create a thick sphere of ice with a thickness of 20 centimeters.
Because the sphere disperses the impact, it boasts defensive power that will not budge against something like an Orc’s club.
Because I make it as if gouging out the soil of the ground where I am sitting, my butt is not cold even inside the ice.
While still sitting cross-legged, I make the ice sphere float up.
The ice, which contains absolutely no air, has high transparency, and the situation outside can be seen well.
It is a new Magic that allows flying while defending the entire perimeter.
Area-of-effect attack Magic.
I activate it from a floating state with Fly while still inside the Ice Sphere.
”‘Tornado’⁸“
I create a violent wind in a circle around the ice sphere.
As I heat the raging violent wind to a high temperature, a fierce updraft is stirred up.
The vortex of the tornado that stretched to the heavens carries everything existing in the surroundings high up into the sky.
Nothing remains after the tornado passes away.
I deactivate the Ice Sphere and land on the ground.
”‘Fire Breath’⁹“
A huge flamethrower with a diameter of 1 meter burns down everything up to 30 meters away.
The trees that received the flamethrower burn roar fiercely.
”‘Water Breath’¹⁰“
This time, a jet water stream with a diameter of 1 meter extinguishes the burning forest.
The large trees that received the intense water stream creak and groan.
”‘Escape’¹¹“
I activate Interdimensional Magic to my rear.
Moving it from back to front, I evacuate myself into the Interdimensional Space.
The series of movements takes just an instant.
From the perspective of surrounding humans or monsters, it would look as if I vanished suddenly.
No matter how powerful an attack may be, it will never transcend dimensions to reach the Interdimensional Space ruled by me.
It is truly an absolute defense Magic.
Interdimensional Space in an emergency evacuation, there is an entrance/exit shaped like a door in front of my eyes.
As if watching a large-screen TV in a pitch-black room, the scenery of the different world can be seen from the Interdimensional Space.
I found out that it is also possible to control the magical elements of the different world from within the Interdimensional Space, as long as it is within a radius of 3 meters centered on myself.
”‘Meltdown Ball’¹²“
Outside the Interdimensional Space.
I create a rock the size of a soccer ball on the different world side and heat it up.
The rock, which quickly became red-hot, exceeds its melting point and gradually begins to melt, turning into burning hot magma glowing bright red.
I am not hot at all.
It feels like looking at a landscape inside a TV.
The physical Elemental Manifestation generated on the other side does not reach the Interdimensional Space ruled by me at all.
I raise the temperature of the magma without limits.
The burning hot magma begins to emit a white, dazzling radiance like the sun.
A lump of magma heated to an estimated several thousand degrees.
It is shot right down toward the ground.
The magma was sucked into the ground, leaving only a gaping hole.
After a while, the scenery of the different world was enveloped in dust in an instant.
Confirming that, I activate Ice Sphere and Fly to return to the different world while protecting myself.
I fly through the dust where I cannot see even 1 meter ahead.
After a short while, I broke through the dust.
Looking back and up, a large mushroom cloud was rising high into the sky from the hanging dust.
By the time the dust settled, a large 50-meter crater was made there.
Everything that should have been there, even the ground, has been blown away and vanished.
(Did it cause a steam explosion?)
The magma that fell deep underground while melting the ground probably contacted an underground vein, and a steam explosion occurred.
Even when suppressing it to the power of a mere experiment, it is this.
If I felt like doing it, I could return a city like Grimm City to soot and dust in an instant.
It was the moment I succeeded in developing an ultra-wide area-of-effect attack Magic.
Of course, it can also be used for single-target attacks.
In that case, a size about that of a bullet would be fine.
It would be none other than a Meltdown Bullet.
If anyone could stay alive after eating a direct hit from that, it would probably be about a creature living in magma. I don’t know if such a thing exists, though.
Having finished the line of experiments, I search for Orcs while flying through the depths of the forest with Ice Sphere.
- There they are.
Two Orcs are walking toward here while shaking their huge bodies.
I approach to a distance of 30 meters.
”Roar!”
The Orcs noticed me and raised a loud voice.
They started running while brandishing large trees like logs.
A distance of 20 meters.
While flying back, forth, left, and right with Ice Sphere to confuse them, I take a position that is easy to aim from.
”‘Stone Bullet’”
Through the Ice Sphere, I fire toward the head of the Orc running in front.
The rock bullet flies while making a swishing sound and rotating at high speed.
With a dull thud, the Orc’s skull was blown away, scattering brain matter all around.
The giant body that lost its command center tumbled and rolled across the ground.
The leading Orc disappeared, and I caught sight of the Orc running behind.
”‘Lava Bullet’”
Toward the Orc’s head, I fire a red-hot rock bullet made on the smaller side.
At the same time as a crisp popping sound is made, the Orc collapsed from its knees.
Smoke and steam rise from the hole opened in its head.
The Orc’s brains are boiling.
I was able to easily finish off the Orcs that I struggled against so much before.
Orcs are no longer my enemies.
With this, I can finally resume hunting monsters in the Magic Forest.
Storing the finished-off Orcs in Storage, I return to the town.
I have not sold any of the prey hunted during this past week yet.
Because I hunted an excessively large amount of prey, it seems like it would cause a huge uproar if I put this up for sale.
Now then, what should I do.
While returning to the Mansion with such thoughts, Nier ran up and clung to me.
”Goshujin-sama! A clue to Mia’s whereabouts…! I heard it was grasped!”
The search for Mia, which I had requested of Hilbert, had shown progress.

Summary:
Moving from initial domestic arrangements, Ryuichi navigates an unexpected visit from Reina which quickly shifts from an emotional declaration of gratitude to a cold, business-minded security employment arrangement. The estate undergoes significant hygiene structural upgrades with outdoor stone-carved toilet facilities constructed to prevent the mixing of free guards and internal slave spaces. Ryuichi subsequently leaves his household management behind to step past the Melin River for high-intensity magical training to overcome strategic vulnerabilities discovered during his recent near-fatal encounter with an Orc
The protagonist conducts intensive magical experimentation within the forest to build an advanced offensive and defensive repertoire. After managing to eliminate target threats with ease, a sudden visual outcome signals potential city-level power limits. Returning to base brings a critical prompt regarding a missing associate, leaving the investigation wide open
—
Trivia:
- Reina explicitly mentions that caravan escorts within the town pay precisely 3 Silver Coins per 10 days, dropping significantly below the high-risk yield of monster hunting in the Magic Forest.
- Nier has a documented history of accidentally flooding the internal living space bathroom floors with urine before the implementation of the outdoor stone-carved toilet systems.
- The exact temperature conversion limits derived from shifting ice magic concepts directly into thermal manipulation mechanics for earth components
—
Character Insight:
Ryuichi demonstrates total emotional detachment by processing a potential harem-trope encounter with a free citizen purely through logistical asset management, weighing legal pregnancy liabilities against security utility.
The narrator displays an increasingly analytical approach to testing the physical manifestations of spell constructs, assessing defensive parameters systematically while retaining a pragmatic perspective on combat and economy.

Glossary:
Notes:
• Reina – A nineteen-year-old female archer, raised as a village hunter, she has fair skin, a brown ponytail, and a well-proportioned build. Wearing a leather cuirass with exposed shoulders, she fights with a shortbow, dagger, and high mobility. The sole woman and emotional heart of her party with old friends Allen and John, she is kind yet easily flustered. After fighting a Dire Wolf pack with Ryuichi in the Magic Forest, she visits his mansion and entirely submits to him as a slave for absolute survival.
• Balan – A burly, intimidating appraiser in a blood-stained apron works the Guild’s counter, expertly butchering and evaluating monsters. Despite his terrifying face and boisterous personality, he kindly advises novices and maintains a friendly rapport with regulars like Ryuichi. He later arrives with low-ranking workers to evaluate Ryuichi’s massive haul and introduces him to the Guild Master.
• Ryuichi – Poison Snake is a 40-year-old, bearded Japanese adventurer and weary, pragmatic sorcerer. Concealing immense magic—fire, ice, air, speed, healing, and an Item Box—he trains in the Magic Forest and hunts monsters for profit. Strictly logical, he lives in a new mansion with his slaves, Nier and Helga, viewing them as tools for his satisfaction and estate management, yet feels protective rage if they are threatened. He has a severe fear of heights.
• Allen – A long-haired man characterized as the voice of reason within his adventurer trio. He utilizes a one-handed sword and a buckler for defense, ultimately meeting a tragic end during an encounter with Dire Wolves.
• John – A twenty-year-old blond adventurer and mercenary built slightly larger than the protagonist. Arrogant and foul-mouthed, he grew up in the same village as Allen and Reina, serving as an aggressive vanguard alongside them. Wearing chainmail, a helm, and a wool coat, he wields a two-handed sword and heater shield. To escape his profession’s high mortality rate and protect his partner, he volunteers as Ryuichi’s combat slave, later joining Reina as a mansion guard.
• Grimm – The name of a large settlement and community located near the Forest of Magic. Grimm is a walled city featuring a bustling marketplace and diverse population, though it suffers from severe lack of sanitation and a legalized slave trade.
• Helga – A twelve-year-old former Adventurer’s Guild receptionist with waist-length blonde hair, silver eyes, and a doll-like Northern European appearance. Bratty and flighty, she fell into slavery after a conflict with Ryuichi and the Guild Master, but is now his doted-on companion. Previously an acquaintance of John and Reina, she was kidnapped by Ganz’s group before being rescued. She speaks with a raspy voice, wears a fluffy woolen gown, and handles domestic tasks, horse care, and fetching fodder from Interdimensional Space.
• Nier – A 27-year-old Japanese-esque beauty with long black hair, refined features, and large breasts, she is Ryuichi’s primary, doted-on slave. A former peddler traumatized by the brutal slave trade and separated from her young daughter, she finds security in Ryuichi’s kindness, providing domestic, culinary, and intimate care at his mansion. Enthusiastic about its new hygiene upgrades, she manages shopping and protectively educates other subordinates. For winter travel, she wears a thick, fluffy, knee-length woolen gown.
• Man – A roughneck wearing a hat who participated in a group assault. He suffers the loss of his right arm and later his left arm during an experiment by the protagonist before being stored.
• Orcs – Large monsters possessing massive bodies that brandish logs like clubs and attack targets in the Magic Forest.
• Hilbert – A middle-aged merchant with a neat beard and gentlemanly air, he professionally runs a high-end Slave Trading House where he handles high-value inquiries, transactions, and formal business introductions with composure. Unbiased and legally thorough, he sold Nier to the narrator and now leverages his carriage mail, slave trade network, and merchant information pipelines to help track Nier’s daughter.
