Chapter 157 A New Home and Secretly-Pervy HiyHiy!
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
I’m Hiyori Sashima.
One day—out of nowhere—I got dragged into this otherworld of swords and magic along with my classmates. I had thought Sanai was long dead… and yet, there he was. Alive. Real.
For a bunch of reasons, and because my own 天恵 [T/N: “tenkei,” a divine blessing or innate gift] was totally useless in combat, I decided to follow him.
And honestly… it turned out to be the right call.
Sanai, who had every right to ignore the girl who just sort of tagged along, went out of his way to make sure I wasn’t left wanting for anything.
The first time he brought me to see the “place we’d be living”—a battered, crumbling old government office—I’d been so uneasy my hands wouldn’t stop shaking. But he quietly pressed a tidy little stack of gold coins into my palms, saying I’d need funds to start.
Soon after, he had warm showers rigged up for me. Meals, too—not much by Earth standards, but apparently counted as luxurious here. He just told me to eat as much as I wanted.
I could only feel grateful.
Now, the place I live in is a new three-story Elandric-style mansion on the edge of Keldan’s suburbs. When Keldan’s finances finally steadied, Sanai said we couldn’t stay in that falling-apart office forever, and hired Elandric craftsmen to build it. The whole thing gleams white with polished stucco walls, the sunlight sliding off them like spilled milk.
At first, I’d worried. A three-story building? Was that even safe here? But Sanai just smiled and said the Elandric had invented a beam structure that made it strong enough to stand tall.
Inside, every private room has a flushing toilet and bathtub. The boilers keep warm water running all the time. Even Ms. Ninim had stopped dead in her tracks and muttered that no other noble manor was this luxurious—it still made me smile remembering her face.
He even said, “Ms. Sashima will need a private space of her own, for privacy,” and gave me a personal suite that was almost too big for just one person. I accepted it gratefully, though I still sometimes twirl around inside it just to convince myself it’s real.
And somehow—don’t ask me how—he even provided liquid soap, made from palm oil he said came from Lusrith coconuts mixed with sulfuric acid to produce something called sodium lauryl sulfate. Whatever. As a clean-freak, I was just thrilled to be able to bathe whenever I wanted.
My room even has a proper coil pocket princess bed—queen size, soft enough to swallow me whole. Way better than any straw mattress. It honestly makes me feel like… well, like a princess.
And the food… in my old world it would’ve just been “normal,” but here? Ms. Vanya, who used to be an Imperial Court chef, makes me fresh salads, warm white bread, thick steaks… compared to the average nobles of this world, I live embarrassingly well.
Sometimes, people even come up to me in town—smiling politely, bowing low—and say, “Ah, ah… are you the lady of the lord, perhaps?”
I know they’re only trying to get in Sanai’s good graces. I know that. But it still makes my chest go all warm, like I’ve somehow become someone important.
I never imagined that in this otherworld… I’d get to live like this.
But—lately—one of the maids, Ms. Luruna, has gotten kind of… polished. Stylish. And Sanai… I’ve caught him more than once sneaking glances, grinning like a dope, whenever Ms. Vanya or the maids passed by.
It’s… complicated.
As a fellow classmate, as a girl classmate, watching that makes my stomach feel weird.
I know he’s a boy and all… but still. He’s not married. We’re still underage. Doing… that kind of thing… is totally wrong!
…And yet.
Even while thinking that, my ears keep twitching when I overhear whispers about the maids’… um… recent bedroom lives.
So yeah. Maybe I’m not one to talk.
—
Hiyori might’ve been blushing furiously, but she was also very, very curious.
Way too curious.
