Chapter 46 The Hero Kiritani
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
As Ayumu prepared to open a franchise store of the Elandric Merchant Guild in the otherworld, a different scene unfolded elsewhere.

Same Day—Same Time—Former Union Kingdom—Border Region
”Hmm… So that’s the Demon King’s army? They seem weaker than I expected,” Kiritani, the class president, muttered. With his impressive ability stats and skills, it was no surprise he underestimated the enemy. After all, the creatures before him were goblins—no different from the ones he’d seen in video games back in his world.
”Really? Those green guys… they look terrifying to me,” one of the girls around him whispered, her voice trembling. “I’m scared. They’re so intimidating… Kiritani.”
”Wait, those green-skinned creatures are goblins, right? They’re carrying knives, spears, shields, and even crossbows… This is dangerous! Let’s go back, Kiritani! We’ll get killed if we stay!” Another girl clung to his arm, her eyes wide with fear.
Though the girls possessed useful skills, their terror was palpable. Yet Kiritani didn’t forget to reassure them. “It’s okay. If you’re scared, you can wait here. I’m not in the habit of letting girls face danger,” he said with a reassuring smile. Then, without hesitation, he charged into the enemy ranks alone.
With a single slash of his unsheathed holy sword, Kiritani dispatched a goblin sentry whose body collapsed like a puppet with its strings cut. But Kiritani didn’t spare the fallen creature a glance. Before the body hit the ground, he was already moving on, striking down nearby goblins one after another.
Caught off guard by Kiritani’s sudden assault, the resting goblins didn’t even have time to scream. Within a minute, the entire group was wiped out, leaving behind only a pile of their lifeless bodies.
The girls rushed over, their fear replaced by awe.
”Amazing! You’re incredible, Kiritani!”
”Yeah! That was so cool and graceful!”
”I’m falling for you all over again!”
Their praises poured forth, one after another.
If a bystander had witnessed this bizarre scene, they would have been speechless. But Kiritani, unfazed, flashed his signature charming smile. “Thanks. I’m just glad you’re all safe,” he said smoothly.
The girls squealed in delight. “Kyaa! Kiritani’s so kind! He’s worried about us instead of himself—I’m so touched!” “Thank you, Kiritani!”
Inside, however, Kiritani’s thoughts were far less noble.
(They’re easy to manipulate and useful for my needs, but honestly, they’re just a burden. At least they’re not dragging me down in battle or begging for help—yet. But when the time comes, I’ll have to figure out how to dispose of them…)
But for now, the girls remained oblivious.
They didn’t realize that their fate hinged on Kiritani’s fleeting interest. Once he grew bored, their usefulness would end.
Notes:
• Elandric Merchant Guild – A merchant guild with a branch where the potions were sold.
• Union Kingdom – The neighboring kingdom to Alyurein.
• Kiritani – The class president who takes leadership and questions their situation. A smooth operator, laid-back and calm. The handsome one.
