Chapter 67 Imperial Capital Roar
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
Caesaran Empire… Imperial Capital Roar.
Its streets, reminiscent of the German Empire from another world, were breathtakingly beautiful. The snow-white castle towering above the city displayed a golden two-headed wyvern, its wings stretched wide as if embodying the unmatched strength of the Imperial Army.
Beyond the Emperor’s residence, the Castle Town and Craftsman Street had been built like a fortress. Endless, towering walls had long resisted the advance of countless powerful enemies.
Under the cold sky, the robust voices of the footsoldiers echoed, praising the greatness of their nation.
”Hail, Caesar!”
”Sieghail! Sieghail! Sieghail!”
A commander clad in splendid armor, ceremonial sword gleaming, answered the troops with authority.
”Hail the Fatherland!”
”Hail our Kaiser!”
They were soldiers of the Imperial Army, defending these streets. Their newly issued uniforms, of the latest design, caused some to exchange surprised glances and whispered doubts…
Not least among them were the heroes from another world.

”Still, I can’t believe it,” said Yukina Yuki, Sayumi Mineyama’s close friend. “All the footsoldiers’ uniforms in the Caesaran Empire look exactly like the boys’ uniforms from our old world school. Isn’t that an incredible coincidence, Sayumi?”
Mineyama frowned, murmuring as if thinking aloud:
”Could it really be a coincidence…”
The design of otherworldly military uniforms mirrored their school uniforms from their original world. Somehow, the thought was both strange and fascinating.
(I need to investigate this…)

The next day, Mineyama, accompanied by Yukina, gathered their party members and began to examine the uniforms.
”You really didn’t have to follow me, Yuki-chan,” Mineyama said. “You could have stayed at the inn with your boyfriend Iwaya, you know.”
Mineyama appreciated the help but felt uneasy. Yukina was not spending time with her boyfriend but had come to assist Mineyama personally.
”It’s fine! Honestly! Iwaya keeps touching my chest and… well, you know… even though I told him no premarital anything!” Yukina muttered, scowling slightly.
”I… see,” Mineyama whispered, cheeks flushing. She had never held hands, let alone anything more intimate, with a boy. Every word from Yukina stirred something unfamiliar within her.
”Yes! Boys always think about… those kinds of things! I just want something platonic and respectful, but they… sigh… I had enough! I just left the inn!”
”But don’t get me wrong,” Yukina said softly. “I followed because I was worried about you going alone. If anything happened to you, I’d be devastated. And we still don’t know who committed that attack…”
Indeed. Since that incident, no updates had come. Was it resolved? Or had it been swept under the rug? The silence felt ominous.
”So, Sayumi-chan, where do we start? Any leads?”
Mineyama shook off her thoughts.
”Oh… yes, sorry. I heard from the innkeeper that a High-Class Tailor affiliated with the Merchant Guild supplies the Imperial Army uniforms. That’s where we should start.”
”Excellent! Then let’s go!”

Arriving at the High-Class Tailor, they approached the grand door. It swung open as if the staff anticipated their visit.
”Welcome, honored guests,” said an employee.
”Hello. We have some questions…”
After explaining their purpose, a person with the title of head manager attended them.
”I see… you are the heroes everyone’s been talking about. The guild leadership has briefed us through the Empire, so we’ll do our utmost to help. Regarding the Imperial Army uniforms, we haven’t been given detailed designs. But we do have the original reference garments. I’ll show you.”
From the depths of the shop’s backroom, a large, ornate box was carefully brought forth.
”Let me see,” Mineyama said, lifting the lid—and gasped.
”This… this is our school uniform! Sayumi-chan!”
”W-why…?”
Mineyama stared at the embroidered name in shock. The uniform bore the name Sanai Ayumu.
”Sanai… him?”
(Is he here? Dead? Or alive?)
A whirlwind of thoughts raced through her mind.
”Excuse me! Who wore this uniform?” she asked the manager.
”I’m afraid we were never informed. We only know the garment’s craftsmanship is exquisite, making reproduction difficult. As for the wearer, we know nothing.”
Mineyama sighed, handed over a token of thanks, and left the shop.
