 ”A tempting offer, but I’ll have to decline.”

 I hesitated for just a moment before answering.

 I’ve gone this far to help Kyouka, and I couldn’t just ruin everything now.

 There was no way I could take Yukari up on her offer and do something to Kyouka right here.

 To be honest, it’s a pretty weak excuse.

 It’s probably just that she was trying to create a situation where I could easily make a move on Kyouka, just like with Naoko, her friend.

 Considering how I usually treat girls, it’s only natural that Yukari would think that.

 Not explaining the details properly was definitely my fault.

 But, what could I have said to explain it to Yukari?

 ”Mind your own business. Just release Kyouka quietly.”

 I cut Yukari off mid-sentence, my voice laced with anger.

 I wasn’t really angry, though.

 I just didn’t want Yukari to get any more weird ideas. From her perspective, she was probably just trying to make things work, but from mine, it was just a hassle.

 ”Kidding, Kaburagi-kun! Don’t get so angry!”

 ”Of course I’m angry! I have no idea who you are, but what’s so funny about messing with me and Kyouka?”

 ”Just passing the time, that’s all. Fine, I’ll return Kyouka-san to you. And you don’t have to take on her debt either.”

 ”From the moment I called you here, I intended to clear Kyouka’s debt regardless. Not that I expected you to take responsibility if you and Kyouka-san broke up after this… but I suppose that’s not the case now.”

 ”I just told you. I only did it to kill time. Honestly, I was betting on Kaburagi-kun breaking up with Kyouka-san.”

 ”Hmm, I suppose it’s fine if it was just to kill time. But are you really going to wipe out Kyouka’s debt for her?”

 ”Just a minute, wait. I think I had it here… Ah, here it is. This is the love contract between Kyouka-san and me.”

 Saying that, Yukari pulled out a piece of paper from the drawer of the bedside table and showed it to me, then began to tear it up on the spot.

 ”Now do you believe me? If you’re satisfied, then please leave. We’ve finished our business here.”

 Kyouka still looked stunned, unable to process the current situation.
