A dream of embracing a young man with tanned skin, drenched in sweat…
The strangely blurry image gradually faded away, replaced by the sound of a little bird chirping.
Cool, damp, refreshing air filled her nostrils.
It was slightly manly.
It felt like white light was shining on her eyelids.
”…Huh…”
When Serena gently opened her eyelids, she found herself in a room that belonged to someone she didn’t know.
It was spacious, bare of objects, with only 2 large windows in a wooden room.
In the corner, a big tub was leaning against the wall.
She didn’t recognize the room, but the air in the room had a familiar smell.
(Kian…?)
When she looked sleepily under the bed, she saw his backpack that he always carried.
There was also a wooden sword and a stick with it.
However, the black coat he was wearing and the ‘loot’──the great sword he had brought home last night──were nowhere to be found.
In fact, his own presence was missing from the room.
”Huh…? Why am I?”
She looked down at her body.
Just a string bikini and a blanket.
Blinking, she glanced at the table beside her, where her shirt and shorts, worn before changing into a serving outfit, were laid out.
Under the table, her boots were lying flattened.
(Oh… Now that I think about it, I was really pissed yesterday and even stole Kian’s drink and drank like crazy.)
Her memory of what happened after that was hazy, but she’s sure she was brought here by Kian in his arms.
”Hmm…!”
A sudden realization.
Her body tingled as if it was trying to tell her something.

She holds her forehead and shakes her head.
She’s like her memory is going haywire.
”Yesterday, I’m…. drinking. …drinking…. ah”

Where did the waiter’s uniform she borrowed from the tavern go?
She hurriedly looked under the bed, but there was nothing there except a bag of something.
She looked around the room, pushed the blanket aside, and felt the bedsheets with her hands, but she couldn’t feel any clothes.
”Not in this room”
Serena concluded this while fixating her light blue eyes on the room’s interior.
Once again, the sound of chirping birds could be heard from outside the open window.
(For now, I’ll change and head downstairs. There’s… a presence below. Three in the kitchen, ten in the hall.)
One of them must be Esther and Robert.
First, she need to talk to them and apologize for the waitress outfit going missing and for passing out while eating.
”…This is bad. Today is the day the exam results are announced. …Kian should still be in this tavern with his backpack.”
She jumped off the bed and quickly put on a shirt and shorts.
She wanted to wash her face and fix her bedhead, but for now, everything would have to wait.
She wrapped the leather holder containing her knife around her waist and checked for any forgotten items.
She had left her only longsword and light armor at ‘Pumpkin Pie Inn.’
Since she had visited ‘The Boar’s Trot Inn’ in casual clothes yesterday, this outfit should suffice.
”Alright.”
Muttering softly, she left Kian’s room.

When Serena descended, she saw Esther and Kian at the counter on the first floor.
A cute girl with brown hair tied in a ponytail and a tall Azraelian youth──.
The two seemed to be chatting with smiles on their faces.
Esther was giggling with her finger on her lips.
Across from her, Kian had a gentle smile while running his hand over the back of his head.
Her attention should be on Esther, but it turns to Kian first.
Serena felt a tightness in her chest when she saw the young man smiling with a relaxed expression.
Her body feels warm and itchy, and it’s uncomfortable, but somehow she doesn’t dislike it.
A strange feeling wells up from the bottom of her stomach.
Her waking heart started beating faster.
”G-good morning!”
Suppressing the Sudden Kian Syndrome, Serena called out to the two of them as normally as possible.
”Oh! Ms. Serena, good morning. How are you? Are you okay?”
”That’s it…”
Serena walked up to the counter and lowered her eyebrows.
Since there’s no point in hiding it, she’ll honestly say everything.
”After drinking a lot of alcohol yesterday, I can’t remember anything. Did Kian lend me his bed under the circumstances?”
”Ah…, that’s right.”
Kian answered immediately with an innocent smile.
But to Serena’s ears, it sounded like his heart was thumping unnaturally loud.
While he wasn’t lying, it was the sound of a heart that was hiding something.
However, everyone has one or 2 secrets to maintain while they’re alive.
Besides, there’s no advantage in deceiving Serena in a place like this, so it’s better to avoid unnecessary suspicions.
With that in mind, she decided not to worry about it.
”Ms. Esther, I’m sorry. I still had cleaning and other tasks left undone.”
”Oh, no. The work hours for you were already over, and the cooking research was something my father and I were doing on our own.”
”Also, I couldn’t find the serving outfit.”
”Ah, Mr. Kian brought that over last night.”
”Is that so?”
”You don’t remember? After finishing the staff meal downstairs, we had a drinking party in the room while discussing the future of the party. It was around the time your speech started to slur that I left the room and had you change.”

”I received the serving outfit from Mr. Kian. You can wear it next time you come in for an extra shift. And this is for your payment from yesterday. Through the Adventurers’ Guild, I will…

”Thank you for your help. Ms. Serena memorized the menu quickly and was very polite in her work. You were also very attentive when you had to pour water and alcohol for customers.”

Serena said, laughing awkwardly.
Kian was already considered a friend, but Esther still felt like a stranger.

”Hey, Esther! What are you doing? We’re in the middle of preparing something!”
”Ah, alright! …Well then, I’ll head back to the kitchen. Mr. Kian, Ms. Serena, today is the day the results are posted, right?”
”Yeah. They should be up before noon, so once I get ready, I’ll head out right away.”
”That’s true. Kian will probably pass, but I’m not sure about myself… I’m feeling a little nervous.”
”I’m sure Serena will be okay too.”
”Do you really think so?”
”Yeah.”
Esther smiled from behind the counter.
”I hope both of you pass. If you do, please come over tonight and drink plenty!”
”Esther!”
”Yes, Dad! I’ll be right there! …Have a good day!”
With a polite bow, Esther returned to the back of the kitchen.
Ignoring that, Serena turned to face Kian.
”I’m sorry about yesterday. I don’t remember anything from our conversation.”
”About that, actually, I have something important to tell you.”
”Huh…?”
She stared back at her partner’s suddenly serious face.
As she was trying to gauge her true intentions, Kian unexpectedly touched Serena’s shoulder.
”Nnngh!!”
Twitch, twitch, twitch, twitch!
”S-Serena?”
”Eh, uh, no. N-nothing…”
(Wh, what? What happened?)
Just now──when Kian tapped her on the shoulder, she felt as if the sensation of yesterday’s erotic dream, which she couldn’t quite remember, had come back to her body.

Serena followed behind, putting her arm around his shoulders.
As she followed Kian out of the tavern hall, she remembered her earlier overreaction and asked, “? ? ? ” with a confused look on her face.
