Volume 2 Chapter 63 Release Of The Wind Dragon

The enemy is an apostle of Azrael.
There might be more than one of them.
They could be stronger than him.
But there was no choice but to escape with Serena.
”I understand. I’ll make sure to deliver this person to Waterman. I’ll be back with reinforcements right away!”
”Yeah.”
”──Huff…”
Serena nodded, and with a swift movement, she lifted the Insect Master onto her back and dashed off like a rabbit.
She was fast, as expected of a Wolfman.
They should be safe like that.
”You two, hide nearby.”
At Kian’s command, Tengu and Kitsune vanished into the dark shadows of the forest without a sound.
Almost simultaneously, a black shadow flickered in the distance among the trees.
The shadow crouched low, almost at its limit, and then leaped into the trees in one go.
Rustling, rustling, rustling──
The sound of leaves quivered with intense force.
The Windsong Blade’s wail rose in volume, a powerful magic sword, but its drawback was that it revealed their position to the enemy.
Still, it was advantageous for their decoy role.
”──Haa…!”
”Ugh…!”
A black shadow descended diagonally from the dappled sunlight.
Through the holes in the white mask, black eyes gleamed fiercely.
By the time Kian noticed, the woman had already pounced from above, engaging him in a fierce clash.
The sound was delayed.
──And loud metallic clank echoed.
”──Haa…!”
Heavy.
The sword’s impact was sharper and stronger than any he had faced before.
Despite having more muscle mass, Kian felt himself being easily overpowered.
The woman’s weapon was a shamshir.
A sturdy curved blade wielded by the warrior monks of Azrael.
Its blade was black, designed for use in the dark.
Despite the Windsong Blade’s magic power, the woman maintained her momentum.
(Strong. I can’t win in a direct fight. Then…)
”Ugh… Haaa…!”
His feet dug into the ground.
The recoil.
Using the spring in his legs, he forcefully pushed back against the woman’s weight.
”Damn…”
Her blade is black to use in the darkness.
The bounced woman leapt both her feet to the sides, slaughtering her momentum as if dancing, landing behind her.
Her posture remained steady.
She was already in a fighting stance.
But there was no more room for hesitation.
According to Kian’s calculations, they had the advantage.
”…Haa…Haa!”
He adjusted his stance.
He channeled his magic power.
If they could keep their distance, they wouldn’t get drawn into a sword fight.
Just like before, he would rely on the power of his magic sword and tear his enemies apart.
”Cry, Windsong Blade…Haa!”
Kian bared his teeth like a vampire.
Dark magic power surged from his entire body.
White wind swirled around the pitted blade, its volume rising like a maniacal laugh.
The trees rustled, and a flock of birds took flight.
He raised his magic sword overhead.
A tornado stretched towards the sky, and the illusion of a wind dragon appeared behind him.
It had the wings and beak of an eagle, the form of a giant bird──a wind dragon.
Beneath the mask, the woman’s eyes widened.
”…Demon…”
”Hahahahahahahaha!”
Wind, rage and howl.
Become a blade and tear his enemies apart.
This sword commands the storm.
There’s nothing mere humans can do but have their lives snuffed out.
’――――――!!’
Now, the wind dragon let out a high-pitched roar.
The tornado turned into a white light.
It transformed into a mass of pure magic power.
”This is…!”
”Hahaha! Turn to dust!”
”…Haa!”
The silver-white light sword was knocked away.
It created a secondary storm as it blew away the windbreak surrounding Izerland’s main castle, reducing the trees to shreds and evaporating everything in its path.
The woman had apparently deployed a ‘Wall’ just in time.
But the wind dragon’s breath ignored it, reducing everything to nothing.
The wind laughed.
The wind raged.
The wind mourned.
The wind wept…
”Noooo! God Azraelllll…!”
The woman’s voice was swallowed by the storm.
The ‘Wall’ cracked and shattered.
Leaving only fragile human flesh and bones.
No matter how talented they are.
No matter how hard they’ve worked.
It seems like it’s all for nothing.
”────…”
Not even a drop of blood remained.
”Ripped apart, shredded, and disintegrating into the air like worthless trash.”
”Hahahaha! Ahahahahahaha! Hyahahahahahaha!!!!”
A beast.
This was the work of a monster――.
The howling storm mercilessly reaped lives.
Even after harvesting, it continued to wail.
No one could Stop (stop) this scream.
”Hahahahaha! Haah-hahahaha! Hahahaha――!”
And then.
In just a dozen seconds.
The storm had vanished as if it were a lie, revealing a distant blue sky――.
It left a colossal claw mark as if the windbreak forest had been scooped up by a massive spoon along with the ground.
”――――”
The water from the moat surrounding the main castle gradually seeped underfoot.
Reflected on the water’s surface was Kian’s face, distorted with an expression of joy so wild it bordered on madness.
