Volume 3 Chapter 109 The Death Struggle In The Night Sky

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

 ”────!””…!”

The warriors, including the aging one called the High Warlord, turned to Sarah all at once, surrounding Kian.

 (‘Glasses’, now)

 ”No way, a Secret Technique!”

The warrior in black fur glared down at Sarah and shouted.

 Meanwhile, the aging warrior…

Was reacting to Kian’s magic power release, kicking the ground.

 (A monster────)

 Faster than Oswald.

The old warrior appeared in front of Kian at a speed that overwhelmingly surpassed Kian’s reaction.

It wasn’t due to the magic sword’s effect.

Just with sheer magic power and physical ability, he had executed a Leap, a movement almost equivalent to the Secret Technique.

The calm, white-bearded face suddenly transformed into a fierce, god-like visage.

 Blue eyes flickered before Kian’s.

White eyebrows furrowed in anger, eyes wide with murderous intent.

 I will kill you.

 Just kill you.

The aging warrior called the High Warlord told this with his expression.

Kian tried to dodge, but he knew it was too late.

 His head would fall.

The enemy’s weapon was a greatsword, which was why he hadn’t been cut down yet.

(Are these guys real? This is bad, the ‘Storm Herd’ is)

 ’Kian! No, n- no! Ahhhhhh!’

 ”Ugh……”

 The world fell asleep────.

 ”…huh?”

 Whose voice was that?

Kian looked down dispassionately at the aging warrior who had suddenly knelt.

 ”Wha…””Ah…””What’s…””────”

The bodies of countless Wolfmen warriors standing on the barrier trembled.

Their physical enhancements faded, and one by one, they were blown away, falling headfirst to the ground below.

 ”…uh, ah…”

 ”Warlord…!”

The warrior in black leather armor, clinging to the barrier’s surface, made a face of despair as he looked at the back of the kneeling old warrior.

In Kian’s hand was a magic blade that once reflected Oswald’s sun magic sword, wielding the Magic Reflection effect.

The enchanted sword shouldn’t have had a sleep-inducing abnormal state effect.

Oswald saw some kind of shadow, but that was all.

That meant the falling Wolfmen warriors were under some other magic’s spell.

(It makes sense, or rather, it’s an interesting result either way.)

 ”────”

The bearded warrior took a deep breath and looked up at Kian.

His body’s enhanced abilities were fading, his form shrinking.

 ”Stop! Don’t! Please stop!”

 ”Master! Masterrrr! Stop! Aaaghh!”

 ”Ozeas, now, I too──”

Kian sliced off the bearded warrior’s head.

This man couldn’t be left alive.

If Kian didn’t kill him, he’d be the one killed.

(But this is a shameful act.)

”…I lost. I tricked you and won.”

A frenzied roar erupted from all sides.

After collecting the elderly man’s head with ‘thread’, Kian scanned the fallen Wolfmen warriors.

”I’ve taken the head of your revered general. It’s not the most elegant head, but it will do for tonight.”

The warriors cried tears as they fell asleep.

Kian’s bloodstained sword vanished into a mist of blood.

As before, the ‘glasses’ weapon quickly disappeared after materializing.

He stored the elderly man’s head inside the Night Wraith.

The headless body plummeted to the ground below, making a dull thud.

 ”If you follow, suit yourself.”

As Kian watched the warrior in the black fur, he fell.

 ’Nightshade’ flared, slowing his descent.

”But if you do, I’ll use this move to kill everyone this time!”

Upon landing, he pulled out a half-conscious cat from under the Wolfmen warriors and slung it over his shoulder.

If he activated the blood magic weapon, the sleep curse would trigger.

If that happened, once the weaponturned to smoke, the sleeping warriors might return.

Tonight, he had to retreat; next time, Kian might be torn to shreds.

 ”Wait…! Who are you…?”

The recovering magician, Barghest (?), rasped a question.

His eyelids still wouldn’t open, and he stared blankly in the wrong direction.

Kian hesitated for a moment, then muttered something before leaving these words behind.

”My name is Owl! The Knight of Owl who guards Ramsey!”

 ”──────!”

 ”Farewell!”

 ”Wait! I won’t let you escape! I won’t forgive you…!”

It was an anticlimactic ending, but at least the danger had passed.

Kian left behind a half-hearted laugh and sprinted away from the ‘Storm Herd’ camp.

He dashed out through the front gate, leaped into the grass, took a wide detour through the reed marsh, and headed toward the eastern Great Forest, where they had planned to meet.

 ’Idiot! Fool!’

 (It’s so noisy.)

 ’Idiot! Moron! Creep!’

Kian thought the last one was a bit off, but he leapt out of the reed thicket and onto the plains.

In the distance, Kian sensed Serena’s magic power, waiting for his return with the two horses.
