Volume 3 Chapter 126-3 The Wandering Straight Punch III

The Windsong Blade roared inside his body.
The possessed person’s body suddenly swelled up and then burst apart from the chest, exploding into pieces.
Flesh and blood scattered in a fan shape toward Kian, with guts and stomach contents spilling messily everywhere. The lower half of the body, now without its upper part, swayed weakly before collapsing onto the frozen ground.
”W-what have I… done…? And you────!?”
(Tch, she dodged it.)
The blood-soaked Windsong Blade passed through Linca’s body.
Linca had used short-distance teleportation to escape just in time.
Shocked by her own actions against her master, Linca failed to activate her ‘(Penetration)’ ability. Her shoulder and chest flesh collapsed as a result.
Without hesitation, Kian tried to use a charm spell on Linca, using the blood on her body as a medium. But Linca, having regained her focus, used ‘(Penetration)’ to teleport further away.
Only Kian’s blood remained where Linca had been, falling onto the icy ground.
The charm spell failed, as expected.
Linca instinctively healed her shoulder and chest wounds completely, still unable to believe what she had just done. She stared at her gloved hands, trembling.
”This… this wasn’t supposed to happen…!”
”────”
(My nerves aren’t fully healed, making it hard to move.)
Kian swung the Windsong Blade and sheathed it with a swift motion.
Escape is still impossible from this position.
Jibril, immune to sleep curses, has been dealt with, but Linca remains a threat. Attacking her could mean certain defeat.
Should he tries to calm her down?
Or should he blame her for turning against her lord and break her spirit?
Which approach would work better to defeat her with words?
Kian carefully observed Linca’s expression, about to speak──when suddenly, a massive surge of energy came from the mountains near the ancient temple.
Both Linca and Kian turned their eyes toward the source.
Moments later, the owner of that energy teleported toward them repeatedly.
It was undoubtedly Sarah.
”Kian!”
In an instant, Sarah appeared before Kian, pointing her mithril scimitar at the stunned Linca.
The scimitar, bought by Guy for a high price, had a large crack in it.
It seemed heavily damaged from the fight with Christophora.
In that condition, fighting Linca properly would be impossible.
Caution was still necessary.
Kian was relieved to see Sarah had no visible injuries.
”Sarah, you’re okay.”
”Yes, I managed somehow.”
Kian spoke bravely but was unsteady from blood loss.
Adrenaline kept him moving, but continuing the fight might cause him to collapse.
”…Ugh. Ms. Sarah.”
”Ms. Linca. You dared to hurt Kian like this? I’ll do the same to you. Be ready.”
”Sarah, don’t!”
Kian sensed a large group of warrior monks approaching.
”Dealing with them and Linca will be tough.”
”Are you saying we should retreat?”
Linca’s stance was shaky, but Sarah kept her guard up.
Kian looked toward the Hall.
Serena and Colinna were surrounded by monks’ magic, likely unconscious.
Lending Sarah the Windsong Blade was an option, but retreating and regrouping seemed wiser.
If Linca recovers and faces Kian alone again, it’ll be the end. Once, words saved her, but next time, she’ll be prepared and attack without hesitation.
The sleep curse──he doesn’t want to use it.
Not understanding how it works, he might endanger himself again.
Plus, with Sarah nearby, using it is impossible.
Losing consciousness on unstable ground could mean falling meters down. If blood-sucking creatures attack, even Sarah might die.
If that happens, regret wouldn’t cover it.
”If you fight, I’ll lend you the Windsong Blade. Your sword’s useless now.”
”──────!”
Sarah stepped back, eyes fixed on Linca.
She grabbed Kian’s hand and pulled.
”We’re running.”
”Yeah.”
Shura and others approached Linca.
Sarah took the Windsong Blade from Kian and unleashed wind blades with her magic.
Dust and snow swirled, freezing the monks in place.
Linca tried to teleport but locked eyes with Kian, her strength fading.
She seemed unable to harm him, looking hopelessly at the ground.
Sarah jumped, cradling Kian as they leaped into the air.
Kian used vampire charm to call Wing Cain, waiting outside the temple.
The monks aimed crossbows, but with the Windsong Blade, hitting Wing Cain would be nearly impossible.
Kian and Sarah escaped the temple successfully.

Later, they retreated to an old fort protected by a vampire barrier. Kian hid Talia’s sealing in the basement, only mentioning they found it earlier.
On the way, Kian sent enchanted Wing Cains to find Rean, who fell on the mountainside. Sarah supported him to the fort’s courtyard.
The wind was cold, but the barrier kept them safe from detection. It was the best place to regroup.
”Terrible. You were slashed.”
Sarah bit her lip while healing Kian’s wound.
”Was it Ms. Linca?”
”Yes. She attacked me repeatedly while I was defenseless, like playing with prey.”
”I’ll kill her. I won’t forgive her.”
Sarah’s language turns foul when speaking Azrael’s tongue.
’Time to remove your other personality. If you don’t return to normal, Lady Sarah will lose patience.’
Kian removed his ‘glasses’ and placed them on Sarah’s backpack.
”Uh, Kian? Sorry.”
”For what?”
”The mithril scimitar.”
Sarah glanced at her waist.
”It’s cracked. Unusable now.”
”Can’t be helped. But mithril resists magic. How did it crack?”
Sarah, finished healing, sat down and replied.
”I used a Secret Technique. ‘Skyrend.’”
”An ‘Impact’ type technique, huh?”
