Volume 3 Chapter 141-4 Before Departure

 She had fallen.

 No, not completely.

Her heart — maybe — still tried to hold on.

But her body had already given up.

 ”…Ninety-six more times,” he said.

 ”Ah…♡”

His strong form moved against her. Her insides could no longer resist.

”You’ll receive it. Ninety-six more times,” he said again.

 ”…yes…”

 (This… this is too much…♡ I can’t… I’ll break… I really will♡)

”You belong to me,” he whispered.

 ”Yes…♡ Linca belongs to you… always…♡”

With a heavy sound, everything ended.

 Yet… he hadn’t even stopped.

Even now, she was held tightly from behind, his arms firm, his breath near. She accepted his kiss — it was soft, but deep, and it told her everything. Gentle, but powerful.

An hour later, Kian was in the bath again, cleaning up. By the time he came out, Linca was already dressed and ready.

”I’ll go into the town with the black coat ‘Nightshade’. I think we left it in the cave. Can you bring it here?”

 ”Of course.”

The sky was beginning to lighten, blue stretching across the night’s edge. Linca nodded, already in her usual, neat clothes.

 ”Thanks.”

”You’re welcome. But please, dry off quickly. We leave at sunrise.”

 ”I know.”

Linca disappeared into the back of the cave. Kian put on the inner clothes she had cleaned for him, then took a town outfit from his pack. He’d be using the ‘Nightshade’ coat, but it wouldn’t hurt to dress in layers.

 ”Sir Kian.”

If it were Sarah, she would’ve tossed the coat with a grin, saying, “Hurry up! I’m leaving without you.” But Linca held it with both hands, neatly folded, offering it with quiet care.

They had been through something intimate — very intimate — yet Linca kept a formal distance.

”Thanks. But you don’t need to be so polite all the time.”

”No, I believe respect is important, even between those close. But… was that too stiff?”

 ”A little bit.”

”Then, please. Hurry up and dress, or I’ll leave you behind.”

”It’s always all or nothing with you… Say, Linca, are you really going out dressed like that?”

 ”Yes. Is it not alright?”

She wore a white outer robe and a black Eastern dress. The skirt was short. Her strong legs stood out between the leather boots and hem — beautiful, eye-catching.

”You’ll stand out. We’re on a stealth mission, remember?”

”I know. But I don’t have anything else. We’ll have to stop by a tailor and buy something for now.”

”Right. That outfit… I did tear parts of it during battle. I should buy you a new one.”

The color was dark, so damage didn’t show easily, but places like the chest had clearly been hand-sewn. It might not affect fighting, but he felt guilty letting a woman like her wear something damaged.

(…Wait. I do have that gear only I can see.)

But it was little more than thin chains. It didn’t even hide the private parts. It was a slave’s uniform. Giving that to Linca? No. It would be great in a… certain moment. But not all the time. He couldn’t do that to her.

”Still, Sir Kian,” Linca said, “You stand out too, just by being Azraelian.”

”Well, that’s true. An Eastern woman and an Azraelian man walking together — we draw eyes.”

”You asked how I worked undercover before we met. I wore what you saw when we first met.”

”The purple kimono? That definitely turned heads.”

”Yes. I thought if I’d be noticed for my face anyway, I’d wear something bold. I called myself a trader from the East and did small business.”

 ”Owl didn’t find you?”

”Maybe. But I wasn’t caught. Even Sir Jibril said if I acted natural and proud, I’d be fine.”

 Kian frowned slightly.

”A trader from the East must be rare.”

”It’s wartime. Because of Lord Owl’s lockdown, nothing — fur, wood, seafood — reaches the South. Some merchants take the risk to trade. The big guilds stay away, but smaller traders? Many still come. Different races, kinds… all heading to Ramsey.”

She added, “Especially those carrying iron, shoes, medicine.”

Kian put on the Nightshade coat and shouldered his bag.

”Maybe we pretend to be traders too?”

”We could, but we don’t have time to act like sellers. We’re only staying three days. Still, I already got permission. The guards know me as a merchant, so if you stay close, we’ll be fine.”
