Volume 3 Chapter 25 How About ‘Dacia’?

Her slender, white throat arched, and the goblet, tinged with a dull, purplish light, tilted slowly.
Soon after swallowing the semen in the goblet, Maribel frowned and placed it back on the tablecloth.
Without missing a beat, Lucretia, the Head Magician with glasses, turned her gaze to Kian and spoke.
”Lord Kian, the reinforcement spell on Your Excellency’s body…”
”It’s already complete. By tonight, before she goes to sleep, My factor should have integrated, and it should be able to counter the curse without the ring.”
”Manon, how are you feeling?”
Christy, washing her hands in a bowl of cold water, asked.
She had volunteered to take care of Kian’s shrunken penis, a pitiful sight instead of a noble lord or a sex slave, and collect his semen in the goblet.
Now, she was cleaning up the remnants of the spilled sperm.
It was strangely exhilarating to watch Christy bending down at his feet, moving her hands so boldly. It felt like he had made her his personal sex slave. He had a fresh, exciting idea: He wanted to dress her up in a traveling dancer’s outfit and set her up as a ‘hostess’ for wealthy patrons.
He imagined her, those sharp eyes and alluring eyelashes, looking at him while he indulged in a breast-feeding handjob. The possibilities were endless.
Anyway…
After swallowing Kian’s raw semen, Maribel furrowed her golden eyebrows, enduring the discomfort. However, the aphrodisiac effect—a trait vampires use to paralyze their prey—soon painted her cheeks the color of roses.
A sheen of sweat formed on her smooth forehead, and her breathing gradually grew unsteady.
Beneath her emerald-blue dress, her flat chest rose and fell dramatically, while her thighs, wrapped in white knee-high socks, squeezed together tightly, shifting restlessly with a faint, subtle sound.
”…Yes. I’m fine…~. No problem…Nn, haa, haa…fū.”
Maribel’s voice, responding to Christy, had a slightly suggestive tone.
She wiped her mouth with a cloth, putting on a composed facade, but her wet, ragged breathing betrayed her true state.
A highborn princess, experiencing arousal in this open dining hall… It was undeniably alluring.
(Hmm, quite erotic.)
Kian wonders… did Owl, the one who placed the curse on her, once watch over the golden-haired young princess with the same thoughts in mind?
Perhaps not, but at this moment, he feels like he can understand his perverse inclinations far more than he should.
”…”
Their eyes met unexpectedly──her dark blue gaze locked with mine.
While Christy and Lucretia busied themselves clearing away cups and bowls, Maribel’s gaze shimmered, carrying the desperate hunger of a woman starved for a man’s touch.
She took a deep breath, her lips just beginning to curve into an inviting smile—
—but then, as if snapping back to her senses, she quickly shook her head and returned to her usual blank expression.
”K-Kian…!”
”Yes?”
”Please, do not look at me like that. I understand that you’re checking whether the spell is working, but at this moment… you appear rather attractive to me.”
”──Huh? Wait, Kian, were you looking at Manon with that kind of gaze?”
”I wasn’t. I only have eyes for you, Christy.”
”…Really?”
”Yes, I swear.”
”Hmm… well, if you say so.”
”…I must admit, I feel a little jealous.”
”Oh? Jealous, are you? And what exactly do you mean by that, Your Excellency?”
”Manon?!”
”…I’ll leave it to your imagination.”
”Wha──?!”
”Your Excellency, do be mindful of your jokes. Lord Kian, I also ask that you not get any strange ideas. As Head Magician, I must warn you—should you ever take Your Excellency’s teasing seriously, your very existence may face ruin.”
”…That’s terrifying.”
Kian said that casually, and on a whim, he aimed the Magic Eye of the Charm at Lucretia.
As soon as he did, she narrowed her sharp eyes beneath her glasses, clearly wary, and took a step closer to Maribel.
Given what happened last night, she must be starting to understand the true nature of Kian.
It’s important for a woman he intends to have someday to get to know his details.
Even if the feelings directed at him are disdain, it’s still better than complete indifference; there’s at least something to work with.
Kian licked his lips.
While he and Lucretia stared each other down in silence, Christy returned, placing the cleaned instruments on the cart and standing beside Maribel──right across from Lucretia.
Kian stopped sending his sultry glances, adopting a serious expression as he opened his mouth to speak.
”As I mentioned earlier, I believe by the time you go to bed tonight, along with the curse’s progression, the nightmares should also stop. Your Excellency’s abilities will be enhanced by partially inheriting mine, which should improve her physical abilities, heighten her perception, and grant her a touch of charm. The downside is that until she get used to it, she’ll start perceiving me, her ‘parent,’ as a sexually attractive man. She’ll also experience ‘seeing too much’ and ‘hearing too much’ due to the heightened perception. For instance, she might overhear the whispers of the ladies chatting at the edge of the salon. Of course, unless she’s focusing, she might still miss some details.”
”So, it basically means my eyes and ears will be sharper? Lucretia has already filled me in. It sounds fine.”
”Lord Kian, when will this ‘touch of charm’ start to show on Her Excellency?”
”It’ll happen naturally once my cells adapt. I think by tomorrow morning, it should kick in. Given her excellent looks, I doubt anyone else will notice the change, though.”
”I see. So by tomorrow morning, then. I’ll keep a close eye on the progress. If anything goes wrong──or if it turns out that there’s no effect at all──I’ll summon you, so be prepared.”
”Of course.”
As Lucretia closed her mouth, Maribel instantly flashed a bright smile, showing off her white teeth.
”Thank you for explaining everything so carefully, Kian. It’s a huge help. I trust you, so I wasn’t worried about the treatment, but knowing this information lets us prepare and take some precautions. Just in case, I’ll keep the ring on until tomorrow morning. Then I’ll take it off for a day and see if anything goes wrong.”
”Yes. But I think it would be best to keep the ring on when Lord Owl is around.”
”I’ll do that when he gets back. ──First, please sit down. You must be exhausted after all that…”
”Thank you, Your Excellency. Excuse me.”
Maribel, seated at the head of the table, gestures to the seat beside her.
When their eyes meet, her cheeks are a rosy, vibrant red.
She’s smiling, but at this rate, her downstairs must be quite damp.
He wants to drop to the table, shove his face under the tablecloth, and sniff her arousal, to bury himself in her skirt and enjoy her scent… but he has to hold back.
(Still, though I took a seat as offered, my role here should be finished. Perhaps she doesn’t want to send me off just yet, so she’ll exchange a few words of gratitude, make some small talk, and then wrap things up?)
”Kian, I truly appreciate what you’ve done for me this time. I wonder how many times now you’ve saved my life.”
”Don’t mention it. But please, be careful about what you say in front of Lord Owl. We haven’t removed the curse, so if he strengthens it, we don’t know what will happen. And at the very least, by the time Your Excellency comes of age, it’ll be obvious that the curse isn’t working. You should think of a way to explain it away or get rid of it before then.”
”Yes, I have time. We’ll figure something out.”
”I look forward to Your Excellency’s future rule. Glory to the Danofen family. ──Well, I should be going.”
”Wait!? You’re leaving already? I just brought you here all the way to the fortress!”
”As Christy said, may I ask for just a bit more time, Kian?”
Maribel chewed on her fingers, her smile fading slightly as she spoke at Christy’s words.
Kian lowered himself back into his chair, a hint of reluctance still clinging to him.
”Your words are appreciated, but I actually have other matters to attend to. Ever since I defeated Oswald last month, personal requests have been pouring in quite frequently.”
”I’m aware of that. But please, wait just a little longer. After all the times you’ve saved me, I simply can’t let you leave empty-handed~. Allow me to offer you some form of reward.”
”Your Excellency, if I may speak frankly, isn’t the treasury of Margrave Izerland’s domain already stretched thin due to the reconstruction efforts in the city streets? For a lower-rank adventurer like myself, a simple ‘Thank you, you’ve saved me’ is more than enough.”
’Quite unusual for someone so fond of money, I must say.’
(The reason I saved Maribel from Oswald was to see the future she envisions for Izerland. If she keeps spending on trivial matters now, I’d rather see her investing in the reconstruction of the Palace. If I aim to rise to the rank of noble as an advanced-ranked adventurer but hear that the Danofen family has bankrupted and fallen from grace, all my accumulated efforts will have gone to waste.)
Maribel shook her head firmly.
”Kian, nobility exists to guarantee and provide for the common folk. If we can’t do that, we have no right to be respected. Don’t worry about the treasury, just tell me what you want.”
”Well, even if you say that… for example, if I asked for Christy to join my adventurer party, wouldn’t that put you in a tough spot, Your Excellency?”
”Eh, w-what? Me?”
”──Of course! Christina is an essential asset! I think Lord Kian has already realized this, but among the witches in this castle, only I and this girl have received proper training. Besides, she’s even helping with research related to Oswald’s blood, so if she were to leave, it wouldn’t just be a problem──it’d be a disaster. I’m not exaggerating when I say I’d work myself to death!”
”Kian, if you’re not joking, can you please cut me some slack? Without Christy, we’d face serious issues with managing ritual magic, including the teleportation gates, maintaining the fortress barrier, and upkeeping the town’s sanitary conditions using earth and water magic. The worst part is the management of the waterways around the leatherworker and butcher guilds! Christy is the one creating and maintaining the cleaning golems, so if the town isn’t filled with foul smells and disease, it’s all thanks to her prevention efforts. Unfortunately, none of my witches can match her skills──at least not for another decade. Even if I had all the money in the world, I can’t let Christy go until we have someone trained to take her place.”
”That’s unfortunate. Even without emotional attachments, someone like Christy, who possesses both knowledge and skills and isn’t plotting anything sinister like Natasha, is exactly the kind of person I, as a regular adventurer party, would want desperately.”
”Um, Kian? I’m really grateful that you want to buy me, but…”
”I know. You’re saying you don’t intend to leave Her Excellency, right?”
”Yeah. I’m sorry.”
”I’m not shocked, since you made it clear before. However, if you ask me if there’s anything I want besides personnel…”
”How about land, for example?”
Maribel’s face lit up again as she slipped her arm under the tablecloth.
A small wooden box emerged from beneath it.
She placed it on the table and began to unfasten the latch.
He wonders if a land deed is tucked away inside that box?
”Your Excellency, I believe I mentioned before that I cannot accept any vineyards under your direct control. I’m an Adventurer, not someone who can manage vineyards.”
”I understand. Unlike swords or armor, accepting a vineyard comes with taxes and leaves a public record. You would then have to serve as ‘my Knight.’ It would be a significant breach of contract to bind you to one place for my convenience, and it’s not something I desire either.”
