Volume 3 Chapter 40 Love Call I

”If anything happens, I’ll come running right away. Please make sure to act carefully.”

 ”See ya!”

They parted ways with Natra and Rufna at the pier.

Kian, prompted by Priscilla, boarded a small boat that had only one boatman on it.

The dark sea turned bright, and it looked like there was another casino street mirrored on the water.

After the boat had been traveling for a while, a gate shaped like a huge dragon’s face came into view ahead.

Of course, the dragon’s face was artificial, and there seemed to be lights inside it, making it glow like the sun.

Beyond it, a wooden dock was visible.

Apparently, they had transformed a small island a bit away from the coast into a casino.

While Kian was gazing at the ocean casino street from the edge of the small boat, someone suddenly tugged on his sleeve from the side.

 ”Hey, Lord Kian”

 ”Yes?”

”I really put a lot of effort into dressing up, but what do you think? Does it suit me?”

The white-haired witch looked up at Kian as she spoke.

Her makeup was overall light, and the crimson on her lips just added a gentle gloss to her natural color.

Thanks to the light blue satin ribbon Katyusha, the line from her ear to the nape of her neck was visible.

It looked formal yet cute──rather like a little demon tempting men.

”It suits you very well. You look beautiful.”

She smiles and turns her eyes back to the luxurious night view of the sea.

 ”……”

 ”────”

(Beautiful. It’s an art of light)

 ”Yeah, Lord Kian”

 ”Yes”

 ”Kyaa!”

 ”What?”

After a throbbing voice, Priscilla’s little scream echoes.

It was a small voice that the boatman couldn’t hear.

Looking back at the sound of a lap, he saw Priscilla’s bag turned over at his feet.

 ”Ah, sorry!”

”No, I leaned a bit too far over the edge of the boat. That must’ve tipped my bag over.”

The two of them crouched down to gather the scattered items.

When he looked up, he caught a glimpse of Priscilla’s pale knees—and his heart skipped a beat.

 ”Huh?”

 ”…Is something wrong?”

”Lord Kian’s residence permit… where did I put it?”

 ”Huh!? …Ah”

He couldn’t help but glance at her, and his eyes widened in shock as he saw that her skirt was lifted up to a rather indecent height, exposing her thighs.

He could almost see her panties peeking out from between her bent ankles.

Priscilla let out a stifled laugh and raised her right arm to smooth out her white hair.

”Hey, if you find my permit, could you pick it up for me? Lord Kian”

 ”────”

 (This woman…)

Kian’s residence permit was stuck between her thighs.

* * *

After somehow managing to resist Priscilla’s seduction, they passed through the dragon’s gate of the ocean casino.

As they descended to the dock, he felt a sense of relief at being freed from their close proximity, more so than the feeling of the hard dock beneath his feet.

”If the guards ask about our relationship, what should we say? Should we just pretend to be lovers?”

”I think it’s fine to just say we’re an Adventurer and a guide who were invited. No one would dare to pry further, considering you’re the daughter of a noble family.”

”Oh, you’re so tired. I guess I teased you a bit too much. ────Sorry, Lord Kian. I got a bit carried away since it’s been a while since we last went out. Please forgive me?”

 ”Hmph, where’s the meeting spot?”

 ”This way”

Priscilla seemed to sense that she had gone too far and quickly distanced herself from Kian’s arm.

The wooden dock stretched out in a straight line, with a curved staircase carved into the rocky cliff in the distance.

Beyond that, on the high ground of the small island, stood the majestic architecture of the eastern nation of Shin.

She approached the swordsman on watch at the end of the dock and exchanged a few words with him.

He nodded once and bowed his head to Kian.

”Welcome, Sir Kian. Sir Abbas Hashmalik Shakerdoust, and Sir Demete Klein are waiting for you inside.”

 ”Thank you”

 ”Be careful on your way”

The man received a torch from another guard and began walking.

Kian and Priscilla followed behind him.

”Shakerdoust has 2 warrior monks as his escorts. On the other hand, Demete is alone.”

”Isn’t Demete bringing any guards from the Vahid family?”

”Huh? There was no application at least. Maybe Jibril, the current owner, came in secret. I think he knows, but he’s a total secret-keeper and won’t tell me, his business partner, any important information.”

He said this while holding back his hair, which was being blown by the wind.

 Kian silently offered his hand.

 ”Hm?”

”Here, take my hand. You’re wearing high heels, and you mustn’t fall.”

”You’re quite the gentleman, even to someone who’s been making fun of you.”

 ”Here, take my hand.”

 ”Hehe, thank you.”

They started to climb the stone steps.

The swordsman leading the way stopped at the last step and lifted a torch above his head to the side of the path.

As Kian and Priscilla slipped past him, the imposing casino building stretched up towards the night sky in front of them.

There was a single road paved with stone leading up to the entrance.

On either side of the road, candles in square boxes were burning brightly.

As they walked about halfway down the road, 2 foreign-looking swordsmen standing at the casino entrance started walking towards them.

They were wearing loose, white robes.

These were the warrior monks of Azrael’s attire.

 ”Sir Kian, it’s been a while.””It’s been a while~”

The male and female warrior monks bowed with a sharp gesture against the bright lights.

When they looked up again, Kian naturally called out their names.

”Long time no see, Zayn, Ms. Katyusha.”

”We’re honored that you still remember us.”

 ”Oh my, I’m so happy~”

There was the tall, slim young man.

And the enchanting black panther woman.

They were Abbas’s 2 closest subordinates.

Zayn was wearing a sweet mask that seemed to appeal to women.

Katyusha had makeup that seemed to suit an older, wealthy client.

”We can’t exactly ask how you’ve been doing since then, can we?”

”But oh, we’ve been hearing rumors about you even at our place. That you defeated Sir Nizaam and Lady Sarah, and the ‘Knights of the Sun’. I heard you even killed Almeisa and Natra, is that true~?”

The woman from the Black Panther tribe was watching our movements without letting her guard down.

She was undoubtedly on high alert.

It was probably because Kian had grown into a giant and possessed a ‘disturbing’ magic power that Beastmen and Elves could sense.

Zayn seemed to have also read Kian’s strength from his body balance.

While forcing a smile, he adjusted his body position to be able to reach the weapon at his waist at any time.

”I heard from Ms. Priscilla that Sir Abbas and Demete wanted to talk to me. I’m unarmed, but would you like to check my clothes before we proceed?”

 ”That’s not necessary!”

 A resonant tenor voice echoed.

Kian turned his gaze away from Zayn and the others.

Zayn and Katyusha quickly knelt down on either side of the path.

A tall man with magnificent red hair emerged from the light of the casino.

”Sir Abbas… and Demete, I presume?”

A dark elf magician’s figure separated from the shadows behind him and stepped out to the side.

Abbas, who stood before Kian, had more wrinkles around his eyes than 15 years ago, and he sported a neatly trimmed beard on his chin and mouth.

On the other hand, Demete looked completely unchanged from the past.

He still had an ageless, gloomy face.

However, his silver hair was neatly styled with oil, and he wore a high-quality black and gold magician’s robe.

 ”Kian Vahid”

The red-haired young man narrowed his blue eyes and spread his arms wide.

 He continued.

”No, that name was confiscated, wasn’t it? Now, you’re the ‘Knight of Crescent Moon’ Kian of Izerland!”

”It seems that the foolish masses believe you defended the Izerland fortress from the traitor McCutchen along with the ‘Knights of the Sun’, but we know the truth. We know that you broke the ‘Knights of the Sun’ and have rapidly risen to fame as an Adventurer… Kukuku…”

Demete twisted his pale lips into a strange smile and let out a peculiar laugh.

 Abbas turned to face Priscilla.

”Lady Priscilla! I thank you! At last, I have fulfilled the wish of my ally Lord Umar!”

 ”…Father’s wish?”

”Do you think we only came to see you because we miss the old days? It’s because we received a secret mission from your father that we’ve crossed such a dangerous bridge to get here. Honestly, it was quite the ordeal… To fool Jibril’s surveillance, we went out of our way to borrow a ship from the port of Shakerdoust and deliberately set our meeting place in the tense region of Châtillon. This very moment is only possible thanks to the great sacrifices and efforts made by none other than me, Demete. If you understand that, don’t say anything unnecessary and read this letter. Here, take it.”

Accompanied by nothing but rude words, Demete presented a sealed secret letter.

Before Kian could examine its contents, Demete continued speaking.

”My lord, Umar Vahid, requests that you return to your homeland. He has arranged for you the succession of the family estate, the inheritance of your domain and assets, and he has prepared a capable group of vassals and a beautiful wife who suits you. If possible, we would like you to come with us to Lord Vahid’s territory. Of course, your safety is guaranteed by me, Demete.”

 ”Huh…?”

”Did the wind drown out my words?”

When Demete looked slightly irritated, he spoke briefly and concisely:

”Sir Kian, Sir Umar intends to eliminate Jibril. After Jibril is gone, my lord wants you to inherit the land and help it prosper. He humbly asks for your consideration.”
