Seven-Sins-Avenger 101

Chapter 101 Yuki Chihiro ⑨

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

 ”The winner: Nakim!”

At the same time the announcement of Nakim’s victory played, a deafening roar erupted from the stands. He had done it. Despite being a lower-ranked underdog, he had toppled a titan like Kelly Burton ¹. He had pushed aside the physical gap and the mockery of the crowd without casting a single offensive sorcery ². It was a textbook upset – a true giant killing.

”Well then, let’s go see our victor,” the Chairwoman said, rising from her seat.

”Yuki Chihiro, hurry,” she added, her tone sharpening with urgency. “Before Kelly decides to take his frustration out on the boy.”

A chill ran down my spine. Kelly was a man built entirely of fragile, jagged pride. It wasn’t hard to imagine what a humiliation like this would drive him to do. I bolted from my seat, leaving the cheering stadium behind as I raced for the tunnels.

* * *

”Don’t screw with me! There’s no way he won like that!”

Kelly’s roar echoed through the empty dressing room, raw and unhinged. This wasn’t how the script was supposed to go. He had intended to pulverize Nakim, to make the brat understand his place and ensure he never dared look up again. Instead, it had been a farce – a pathetic, self-inflicted disaster. He had lost to a bottom-feeder. How was he supposed to show his face at the Academy from now on?

”Damn it… damn it all! That pathetic little Nakim…”

Kelly gnashed his teeth, his jaw aching with fury, until a sudden, dark realization flickered in his eyes. “Wait. He’s still weaker than me. This match… this stupid arena… it doesn’t matter. I can just break him myself.”

A grotesque, predatory grin spread across Kelly’s face as he stalked out of the room. He didn’t need a referee to prove who was dominant.

* * *

In the quiet of the inner sanctum, Nakim was still trembling with the afterglow of adrenaline. I won. I actually won.

The reality of his victory was finally sinking in, washing over him in a wave of pure relief. He knew he hadn’t done it alone. He wasn’t delusional; he knew Kelly’s physical specs were leagues beyond his own. If it hadn’t been for Chairwoman Carmilla’s guidance and my own support, he wouldn’t have even made it to the starting line.

–First know the enemy and know yourself, and you will never be imperiled–

Those were the words Carmilla had told him. He had memorized Kelly’s every habit, every flaw, and every limitation. He had built his strategy around the man’s arrogance. He hadn’t expected Kelly to be quite that overconfident, but the plan – a trap so simple only a true fool would fall for it – had worked perfectly.

Because it had been so easy, Nakim let his guard down.

The door to the waiting room slammed open.

”Chihiro! I did it–!” Nakim turned, a smile forming, thinking his friend had come to celebrate.

That split-second mistake was all Kelly needed.

 ”NAKIIIIIIIM!”

Kelly lunged like a rabid animal, his fist connecting squarely with Nakim’s face. The force of the blow, backed by a full sprint, sent the boy flying backward until he slammed into the stone wall.

 ”Agh… guh…”

Nakim crumpled to the floor, gasping. Blood splattered against the cold tiles, blooming from his shattered nose. Kelly didn’t give him a chance to breathe; he was on him in an instant, pinning him down with manic, heaving strength.

”Gehi! Gehihihi! Look at you! See? I’m still the stronger one! Look at you, you little rat!” Kelly screamed, his voice cracking.

He rained blows down on Nakim’s face, his knuckles soon slick with the boy’s blood. Nakim’s features began to swell into a purple mask of pain.

”Hihahahaha! What’s the matter? Fight back! Come on, hit me!”

His laughter was hollow, saturated with a burgeoning madness. “Fuhi… You know, you really do have a pretty face… Dammit, I’m actually getting worked up here.”

Kelly’s breath hitched, a twisted, predatory lust visible in his eyes. “Let’s see if you’re really a man, shall we?”

With a sneer, Kelly stood just long enough to wrench Nakim’s pants down in one violent motion, exposing him. “Tch, a man after all… but you’ve got a damn fine set of curves, kid.”

”N-no…” Nakim wheezed, the realization of what was coming hitting him harder than any punch.

Kelly was going tor**apehim. The man was already exposing his engorged member. Terror, cold and paralyzing, gripped Nakim’s heart. He tried to crawl away, his fingers scratching at the floor, but Kelly caught him easily, flipping him onto his stomach and pinning him with the weight of a predator.

”Please! Wait–no! Stop it!” Nakim’s voice broke into a terrified sob.

”Kuhihi! Yes! That’s the face I wanted! You’re actually making me want you. I don’t care if you’re a guy; I’m going to claim you and make you scream for me!”

 ”No! Help! Someone, help me!”

”Nobody’s coming, brat! Kuhihihi! Now shut up and take it!”

Kelly pressed his heat against Nakim, preparing to drive himself home – and then, the world shifted.

”Kelly! What the hell do you think you’re doing?!”

A hand like a vice seized Kelly by the scruff of his neck. Before he could react, he was hoisted into the air and hurled across the room like a sack of refuse.

 ”Chihiro…!” Nakim gasped.

Standing there, eyes burning with a cold, lethal fury, was Nakim’s friend.

* * *

I had made it. Just barely.

”Waaaaah! Chihiro!” Nakim scrambled toward me, sobbing like a broken child, still exposed from the waist down.

I pulled him close, stroking his hair to quell the violent tremors wracking his body. “It’s okay. You’re safe now. I’ve got you,” I said quietly.

 ”I-I was so scared… Chihiro…”

A cold, sharp pang struck my chest. I suddenly understood the protective instinct that drove people to the edge of madness. But that wasn’t the priority. I turned a glacial stare toward Kelly.

”You… you piece of shit,” I spat.

”Shut up! I was just showing him the natural order!” Kelly snarled, scrambling to his feet. “That match was a fluke! It didn’t mean anything!”

”Hmph. If I recall, you swore you wouldn’t complain about the outcome,” a voice rang out. Chairwoman Carmilla stepped into the room, her presence filling the space with an icy pressure.

”Shut it, you old hag! The match is void! Look at him – I broke him! That means I’m the winner!” Kelly yelled.

”Is that what you think?” the Chairwoman asked softly.

”Of course it is! I’m the one who belongs here! Not this weakling!”

”Do you truly believe that? Then… look behind you.”

Kelly spun around. Nakim had stood up. He was swaying, his face a mess of blood, but his hand was raised. A ‘Stone Shot’ ³ spell was already formed, humming with a lethal, concentrated vibration. At this range, it wouldn’t just hurt; it would punch a hole through Kelly’s skull.

”Nakim, don’t,” I said firmly. “This isn’t the arena. If you fire that here, there’s no going back.”

Nakim stared at Kelly, his eyes vacant.

 ”Nakim!” I shouted.

The spell flickered and died. The adrenaline finally failed him, and Nakim collapsed into my arms, unconscious.

”Do you understand, Kelly? If he wanted you dead, you’d be a corpse on the floor,” the Chairwoman said, her voice devoid of mercy.

 ”Ugh… damn it! He’s nothing! He’s just a–!”

Kelly tried to lunge at the unconscious Nakim again. I didn’t let him. I threw a backfist that caught Kelly flush in the face. There was a sickening crunch as his nose gave way, and he hit the floor, howling in pain.

”You lost, Kelly. Accept it. And for god’s sake, put that disgusting thing away,” I said.

”Your defeat was born of two things: your arrogance and your delusion,” the Chairwoman said. She reached into the air, pulling a simple metal band from the void. She snapped it onto Kelly’s left wrist.

”What… what is this?” Kelly gasped.

”A Sealing Shackle ,” she replied coldly. “As of this moment, your magic is gone. The shackle has already scrambled your internal flow. You are effectively powerless.”

”No way… remove it! Remove it!”

”Kelly Burton, you are hereby expelled,” the Chairwoman stated.

Kelly’s jaw dropped. Expulsion was a permanent ban. It was reserved for the irredeemable.

”Wait! Expulsion?! For this?! I didn’t do anything that bad!” Kelly screamed.

”Kelly,” the Chairwoman said, “Explain the fundamental principles of attribute magic to me.”

 ”What? I… uh…”

”You can’t, can you? You forced Nakim to do your work, didn’t you? I have the handwriting analysis and an Appraisal to prove it. You’re a fraud, a bully, and a predator. Get out of my Academy. Now.”

 ”Agh… AAAAAAAAAHHHHH!”

Kelly’s scream of pure, pathetic rage echoed through the halls as his life collapsed around him. It was exactly what he deserved.
