Chapter 165 Sugita Group ⑧
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
The resentment toward Sugita and his crew only continued to fester…
Rubia
I wondered how long it had been since I’d last set foot in this town. Honestly, it felt like years, though in reality, not even twelve months had passed. The streets hadn’t changed much, though they seemed a bit more desolate now. The old spark was gone.
”Dear, are you sure about coming here?” Lil asked.
”Logic says Sugita and the others would have stopped here. If they did, they almost certainly caused trouble. Besides…” I trailed off.
I couldn’t stop thinking about Mary, Shin’s lover. There was a chance she’d been violated by Sugita’s group, just like Reese and Marl.
”Let’s head to the Blue Bird Inn¹ first,” I said.
”Good idea,” Lil replied. “Better to see for ourselves than to just speculate.”
We headed off to check on Mary. Information gathering could wait; her safety couldn’t.
* * *
As it turned out, Mary was safe. The owner of the Blue Bird Inn remembered Lil clearly.
”I couldn’t forget a stunning woman like her if I tried,” the man said. “The wolf ears and tail are a bit of a giveaway.”
He told us Mary was resting as a precaution. Since we owed her a debt of gratitude, I asked to see her, and he led us to her room.
”It’s been a while, Mary-san,” Lil said softly.
”You’re… Lil-san? Thank you for everything back then,” Mary replied, trying to rise.
”Please, don’t push yourself,” Lil said, gently stopping her.
Mary sat back down. Her stomach was heavy and round, carrying the child she and Shin had conceived.
”And who are these people?” Mary asked.
”This is my husband, Sieben. This is our daughter, Leki, and…”
”I’m his brother-in-arms, Orcus,” the Orc grunted.
I didn’t remember ever making him my subordinate, but he wasn’t exactly wrong.
”You’re Sieben… I see,” Mary said, looking at me. “Thank you.”
”For what?” I asked.
”For… letting me see Shin again,” she whispered.
”I have no idea what you’re talking about,” I replied, playing dumb. I tried to brush it off, but her knowing smile told me she’d seen right through me.
”Anyway,” I said, changing the subject. “I need to ask you something. Have you seen the Heroes? Sugita and his group?”
Mary’s expression clouded. “They stayed at the best inn in town. Unlike Honoka or the late Akiyama, they didn’t believe in modesty. But they left almost immediately.”
It seemed the town had been spared their worst impulses, though their foul reputation had preceded them even here.
”What do you think of Sugita?” I asked.
”I’ve never met the man. But from what I hear, he’s a piece of work,” Mary said.
That was a small mercy. If she hadn’t encountered them directly, she was safe.
”Will you be staying the night?” she asked.
”No, we have urgent business,” I said.
”I understand. But come back and stay with us next time,” Mary said.
”Next time, for sure,” I promised.
As we left her room, I heard Lil whisper to herself, “Must be nice… I want a baby with Natsumi-san soon.”
I did a bit more digging around Rubia. Apparently, Sugita had rounded up several priestesses from the Hero Church² and dragged them back to the inn for a week-long orgy. I didn’t care much about them; the Church’s women usually threw themselves at the Heroes anyway.
Relieved that no real harm had come to the town, we teleported to our next destination: the elven village.
* * *
”Ugh…”
”This is…”
”It’s horrible…”
The moment we arrived, the stench of rot hit us. Then came the sight-a mountain of corpses. Every single one had been hacked apart. But the most grotesque sight of all was Ishururu Kayan.
The Great Dragon, the guardian of the Tempest peaks, was a mangled heap of meat. His scales had been ripped off, his claws and horns harvested, his wings shredded. No ordinary hunter could have done this. Sugita had been here.
”I was a monster once, and I’ve killed humans to survive,” Orcus growled, his face twisting in disgust. “I’ve eaten my kills and used women as seedbeds. But I never slaughtered like this. This is mindless. It’s pathetic.”
Even an Orc was revolted. The elves-men, women, and children-had been butchered. Even the infants.
”Lil,” I said.
”Yes… Sieben?”
”I told myself I was doing this for revenge. For my own satisfaction because Sugita killed me. But this… this is different.” My voice was trembling. I never thought they’d sink this low. I could understand the dragon, but these people? “What did they ever do to him?! I won’t let this stand! I’ll make them pay for this!”
”Big bro… Whoa!” Orcus stepped back.
I had decided. Death was too good for them. I would give them a living hell that would make them beg for the grave.
”Does he always look like that when he’s mad?” Orcus whispered. “I’m glad I’m on his side. I’m never crossing him. Ever.”
”Papa! Someone’s alive!” Leki shouted.
”Where?!”
”This way! I smell a survivor!”
She led us to a stone storehouse. Inside, a small elven girl was huddled in a ball. She couldn’t have been more than ten in human years.
”Thank God… you’re okay,” I said, reaching out.
”No! Stay away! Don’t touch me!” she screamed, recoiling in pure terror. She’d clearly seen the massacre.
Leki pushed me aside. “Move, Papa. It’s okay… do you remember me? It’s Leki.”
”Leki… chan?”
”Yeah, it’s Leki.”
”Waaaaah! Leki-chan!” The girl threw herself into Leki’s arms, sobbing. “My mommy… my daddy… everyone’s gone!”
Leki held her, acting like the older sister despite her age. “I know. It was scary. But you’re safe now.”
I left them to it and motioned for Lil and Orcus to follow me. We had work to do. We spent the next hour gathering the bodies. Because of the cold, the rot hadn’t progressed too far, but the flies were starting to swarm. The dragon was too big to move, so we piled the elves around him. We would cremate them all together.
That was when the telepathy hit my mind.
’…Is that you? It’s been a while. I see a new face among you.’
”Ah! Something’s in my head!” Lil cried out.
”What the hell was that?!” Orcus shouted.
”Relax,” I said. “It’s the dragon. Ishururu… you’re alive?”
’Hardly. My body is spent. Did you think I could survive being gutted like this?’
”Fair point,” I muttered.
’I have a request before you burn this meat. Reach inside me and find my Dragon Jade³. Take it to the egg I left in my nest.’
I knew the lore. Ancient dragons could pass their memories to their young through these stones.
”I’ll do it. Is the egg still in the nest?”
’It is.’
”I’ll be right back. Lil, Orcus, give me a minute,” I said. I reached into the dragon’s chest, pulled out the glowing jade, and teleported.
The nest was as desolate as I remembered, covered in untouched snow.
”How did they get the drop on you?” I asked the voice in my head.
’I did not underestimate them, but their power was… unnatural. Look.’
Ishururu’s memories flooded my mind. I saw Hagimoto and Hidaka fighting her. Hagimoto was using his unique skill while Hidaka swung a holy sword meant for slaying dragons. Ishururu was winning, but then Sugita’s voice cut through the air.
”Tch. You guys are useless. Fine-I siphoned its XP⁴. Finish it.”
He stole the dragon’s experience?
’Yes. My body became leaden. My very level was forcibly stripped away. You can see the result for yourself.’
The memory shifted to the brutal violation that followed. Sugita’s skill was a theft type-vile and perfect for a man like him. It explained his skyrocketing level.
’If I had abandoned the elves, I might have lived… but I could not be so shameless. And besides, there is that.’
I looked toward the spot Ishururu had pointed out, and sure enough, there was an egg. It was massive – about the size of a large dog, something you’d need both arms to carry.
’Put me into that egg.’
Following the instructions, I placed the orb atop the shell. The Dragon Orb began to melt, sinking into the surface, followed by the sharp crack of the shell splitting open.
A hatching.
What emerged was a dragon hatchling covered in green scales, the spitting image of Ishururu.⁵
”Kupi! Kururururu!”
I locked eyes with the hatchling as it let out its first cry. The newborn stumbled toward me, rubbing its body against mine with needy affection.
”Kupi! Kupiii! Kururururu!”
I had no idea what it was saying.
”Use Telepathy,” I said. “Talk to me through the link.”
”Kupi?” the hatchling asked, tilting its head.
She didn’t get it. Great. She was supposed to inherit her previous experiences and skills, so she should have been able to do this. Yet, there wasn’t a hint of her using her human form⁶ or any communication skills.
”Sigh. Fine. For now… do you want to be my Kin?” I asked.
”Kupi!” she chirped.
Apparently, that was a yes. I’d intended to make her my Kin anyway, so the timing worked. I initiated the contract, binding Ishururu as my Kin. Immediately after, I triggered her transformation into human form.
Since I already knew her Elven appearance, the change was nearly identical. A spitting image, really. The only differences were the wings, the tail, and the two dragon horns protruding from her forehead. Also, she was stark naked. Not a stitch of clothing on her.
”Daddy!” she cried.
”Wait, what?” I muttered. “What did you just call me?”
”I was born because I was fertilized by Daddy’s essence, right? So, you’re Daddy!”
Ishururu – or the hatchling formerly known as her – beamed a carefree smile while saying something absolutely mental.
”I mean, technically, yeah,” I replied. “But you still have your old memories, don’t you?”
”I do, Daddy!”
She certainly wasn’t acting like it. If anything, she seemed suspiciously childish.
”You aren’t just playing the ‘innocent child’ part, are you?” I asked.
”…N-no, of course not,” she said, trailing off.
There was a definite pause there. Not to mention her delivery was totally wooden, and she was looking the other way.
”You’re doing this on purpose,” I said quietly.
”Ugh! Wh-wh-what are you talking about?” she asked.
”Don’t play dumb,” I said. “Don’t try to act all pure and innocent when you’re the same person who tried to force yourself on me back then.”
”…Hmph. Fine! I get it!” Ishururu snapped. “I was playing the ‘child’ card. I didn’t use my human form or Telepathy on purpose! Happy?”
Your acting sucks, Ishururu.
”Oh, but the fact that you’re my Daddy doesn’t change. I’m still calling you that,” she insisted.
”No, you know my damn name…”
”Daddy!”
”Look, I told you -“
”Da-ddy!”
I don’t know why she was so obsessed with it, but she was digging her heels in. Eventually, seeing as she had no intention of backing down no matter how much I struggled, I decided to cave.
”…Fine. Do whatever you want,” I sighed.
”Yay! Daddy! I love you! Let’s have s*x!”
”Like hell we will!” I shouted.
God, she really knows how to throw me off my game. Obviously, we didn’t do anything. I was in no mood for that.
* * *
With the now-human Ishururu in tow, I returned to the settlement. Most of the cleanup was done; all that was left was to light the pyres.
”Seeing it like this… it’s painful,” Ishururu murmured, her expression growing somber.
Since walking around naked was a no-go, I’d had her get dressed in a transformable shrine maiden outfit⁷ made of demon silk⁸ that had been enshrined in the village.
Leki was there, too, along with the young Elf girl. Her eyes were red and swollen from crying.
”Father… Mother…” she sobbed.
”Are you holding up okay?” I asked.
”Yes… Um, I’m sorry…” she replied.
”Don’t be. It’s okay,” I said.
Her hair and eyes were the same color as theirs; she probably couldn’t help but be reminded of my old companions. Even now, she wouldn’t come near me. She was, however, clinging to Leki.
”Sarubia, let’s say goodbye to your Papa and Mama,” Leki said gently.
”Okay…”
We piled straw around the remains and handed out torches. When the straw was lit, the fire surged instantly, consuming the bodies in a roar of heat. I hadn’t stayed here long, but we’d built a bond regardless. They were good people.
Now, my vengeance had gained one more purpose.
”I will settle the score for everyone here. So… rest in peace,” I whispered.
I offered a silent prayer as the soaring flames painted the sky in shades of blood-red.

Summary:
Sieben and his party visit Rubia to check on Mary, finding her safe and pregnant. They then teleport to an elven village, only to find it completely decimated by Sugita’s group, including the Holy Dragon Ishururu. Sieben resolves to inflict a living hell on Sugita after seeing the senseless slaughter.
Natsumi oversees the hatching of Ishururu from a Dragon Orb, leading to a strange familiar-contract where she insists on calling him ‘Daddy.’ The tone shifts from comedy to tragedy as they return to the destroyed Elf settlement to cremate the dead. SaRubia, the lone survivor, mourns her parents as Natsumi swears further vengeance.
—
Trivia:
- Mary’s smile suggests she knows Sieben is hiding the truth about Shin.
- Leki’s growth is noted as being faster than normal elven children.
- Sugita’s level is high because he literally steals XP from others.
- The Holy Dragon stayed to protect the elves rather than fleeing.
- Cremation is used here as a practical necessity rather than the world’s standard burial custom.
- Ishururu is feigning child-like ignorance to manipulate Natsumi’s perception.
- The ‘essence’ Ishururu refers to is from a previous s*xual encounter (reverser**apementioned).
- SaRubia’s resemblance to the ‘Sugita’ group is why Natsumi feels a specific connection/guilt.
- The Miko outfit is made of ‘Demon Silk,’ implying high durability or magical properties.
- Natsumi’s vengeance is now fueled by the massacre of this specific friendly settlement
—
Character Insight:
Sieben shifts from a purely self-centered revenge mission to a moral crusade fueled by righteous fury. Leki shows emotional maturity by comforting the elven survivor, despite technically being a child herself.
Natsumi shows a mix of cynicism (calling out Ishururu’s acting) and deep empathy (the silent prayer for the Elves). Ishururu shows a playful yet obsessive attachment to Natsumi.
—
Behind the Scenes:
The author uses Sugita’s ‘XP theft’ to subvert the standard isekai leveling grind, making the villain a parasite rather than a hard worker.
The author originally intended to kill everyone in the settlement but spared SaRubia to become an adopted daughter later. The Evangelion quote at the end suggests the author’s fatigue with the current plot arc.

TL Notes:
Notes:
• Sugita – Sugita Kazu. The leader of the Sugita gang and the primary bully of Natsumi Sasaki. His grandfather is the Superintendent General and his father is a Police Superintendent, so the two of them covered up all his crimes. Because of this, he does whatever he wants wherever he goes. He has a lean build, sharp features, and a calculating gaze. Possesses the ‘Steal’ (窃盗) skill and uses it to brainwash women.
• Lil – One of the heroines. Height 166 cm, B-W-H: 90-56-90. She is a top-tier beauty with long indigo hair down to her waist, a large scar on her abdomen and sharp golden eyes. She has wolf ears and a tail.
• Reese – Jessica’s sister, currently asleep. Identified as a ‘beautiful blonde lady’ by Alice.
• Marl – Lil’s younger sister figure or companion who enjoys watching the couple from a distance. Not the real one.
• Mary – Shin’s lover. Currently pregnant with Shin’s child. Resides at the Blue Bird Inn in Rubia.
• Shin – A level 18 greatsword user and Hunter from Rubia. Jade rank.
• Sieben – Young man with black hair and a mask covering his eyes. He purchased Honoka and Ria.
• Leki – Lil’s daughter. Height: 140 cm, B-W-H: 70, 54, 69. She looks more like a Siberian Husky puppy than a wolf. Honestly, she just looks like a stuffed toy, recently transformed into a human form. Now use great axe as weapon.
• Orcus – A former orc born from Yuko Oshiro and an orc. To be exact, he is a High Orc Brave. Now a ‘Rakshasa’ and Natsumi’s subordinate after being defeated. Over 190cm tall, muscular, bronze skin, messy long red hair. Wild, masculine features.
• Honoka – A member of the relief team with healing magic. Despite her cute, short, ‘transistor glamour’ appearance, she is cold-hearted and mocks Sasaki, now a bound slave to him.
• Natsumi – The protagonist. Height 168 to 171 cm, weight 57 to 59 kg. He has a baby face, but he hides his eyes with his bangs. He was bullied by the Sugita gang just because his name sounded like a girl’s name.
• Ishururu – A Dragon Priestess and suspected Elder Elf. Leader of the High Elves in the region. Appears as a young girl but is ageless. But actually, ancient Dragon in human form, small breasts, belly distended from breeding session.
• Kayan – A Dragon Priestess and suspected Elder Elf. Leader of the High Elves in the region. Appears as a young girl but is ageless.
• Hagimoto – One of the members of the Sugita gang who actively bullied Natsumi. At first glance, he looks like a cool, smart guy with glasses, but he is actually vulgar and has a foul mouth.
• Hidaka – Height 182 cm, weight 79 kg (Male). A muscular member of the Sugita gang and the Kendo club. While better than the other two, he still used Natsumi as a punching bag and joined in the sexual assault of Lieselotte Himesaki.
• Sarubia – A young Elf girl and the sole survivor of the settlement massacre. Has hair and eye colors that remind the protagonist of former companions. Her eyes are red and swollen from crying.
• Rei – One of the Kijima twin sisters. The eldest one. She uses a spear and acts as the frontline defense for her sister. She demonstrates ‘perfect sync’ with Mei.
