Chapter 184 Sugita Group ㉗

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

”A gift from Papa! Wrath Impact¹!”

With Leki’s strike, a thunderous boom shook the air. Sugita’s body didn’t just break; it atomized. It was a spectacular explosion of gore – a flashy way to go, certainly. But since he died instantly, his agony lasted only a second. To the crowd, it was a show. To me, it was a bore.

”Leki, you’ve got to make him suffer more than that,” I said.

”Oh, right. My bad. Let me try again.”

”Y-you’ve got to be kidding! Hey, stop that brat -” Sugita yelled.

Kaboom!

I couldn’t help but smirk. Pulverized again. Even after all the effort to bring him back, he was just another red mist. Leki’s biggest flaw was her total lack of restraint. I’d only shared the “Wrath Impact” skill with her moments ago, yet she handled it like a natural.

Like giving a nuke to a toddler.

”Hah… what is with this kid…?” Sugita wheezed as he reformed.

”Hmm? Hey, can I go one more time?” Leki asked.

”Well, it’s usually one kill per person…” I muttered.

There wasn’t a hard rule, but we had a silent agreement to rotate. Since Leki kept ending it in one shot, the spectacle was over far too quickly.

 ”Hey, Sieben.”

Someone tugged at my sleeve. It was Yukiko, dressed in her usual black Gothic Lolita lace, shielding herself with a matching parasol.

 ”What’s up, Yukiko?”

”I’m hungry. Sieben, give me some,” she said.

Is it that time already? The sun was beginning to dip toward the horizon. Since becoming a vampire, Yukiko had turned into a total night owl.

”Actually, Yukiko… why don’t you try someone else for a change?” I suggested.

”Ehh? But I like yours best.”

”Look over there. He’s at the perfect stage for a drink,” I said, pointing at Sugita.

It wasn’t that I minded her feeding on me. Usually, her feeding sessions were quite… intense, and tended to lead straight to the bedroom. I just didn’t think I could keep my composure today.

”Besides, you’ll be in trouble if I’m not around. And it’s not like it matters if you suck that guy dry,” I added.

”I guess… if you say so,” she said, nodding after a moment of thought.

Yukiko licked her lips and approached Sugita. She didn’t see him as a man, or even a person – just a meal. There was a haunting, predatory grace to her movements that made her human innocence feel like a lifetime ago.

”Y-you… are you really Yukiko? You look… different. Sexier,” Sugita stammered.

”Who are you again?” Yukiko asked.

Sugita looked genuinely hurt. I’d forgotten she was terrible with faces. Regardless, Yukiko leaned in, her eyes glowing with a predator’s hunger. She bared her fangs and sank them deep into Sugita’s jugular.

 ”Down the hatch,” she whispered.

I knew from experience it didn’t actually hurt much. If anything, the heat of her breath against your skin was a massive turn-on. Sugita seemed to feel it, too.

 ”Ngh! Oh… wow… this actually feels… Yukiko, you’re incredible!”

He was actually getting off on it. Yukiko didn’t care. She was lost in the meal.

Gulp. Gulp. Gulp.

She didn’t stop. Sugita’s face went from flushed to pale, then to a sickly, translucent white. He began to wither, his skin tightening over his bones.

In this world, being bitten by a vampire doesn’t always turn you. If that were true, I’d have turned months ago. No, you only turn if you die while being drained.

”Slurp… ahh. Thank you for the meal. It was… okay. A bit watered down, though,” Yukiko said, pulling away.

Sugita was a husk, a living mummy. He’d lost nearly every drop of blood in his veins. In any other circumstance, he’d be dead.

 ”Ugh… aah… GAAAAAAH!”

Sugita didn’t just come back; he rose as a Lesser Vampire². And unlike Yukiko, a True Ancestor³, he had zero resistance to the sun. The evening rays were weak, but they were still lethal.

”It burns! It burns! Make it stop! AGHHHH!”

Sugita’s flesh ignited in a pale blue flame. In seconds, he was nothing but a pile of ash.

* * *

When Sugita returned from the ash, the Death Penalty reset him to his human form. Waiting for him this time was Lil. She was the last of my inner circle to take her turn. It felt like she’d waited for the finale on purpose.

Beside her stood the massive, snow-white form of Sirius, the Heavenly Wolf. Lil looked at Sugita with pure disgust.

”Sirius,” she commanded, her voice cold as ice. “Eat him.”

The wolf let out a bone-chilling howl and lunged, his jaws clamping down on Sugita’s midsection.

”Gyah! Stop! Get it off me! AGH!”

Sirius didn’t listen. He tore a massive chunk of flesh from Sugita’s side and began to chew. Sugita stared at his own viscera with wide, terrified eyes.

 ”Please… make it stop…”

”Don’t be ridiculous,” Lil replied. “The terror, the pain, and the utter despair you forced Natsumi – no, Sieben – to endure? You’re going to taste every bit of it.”

She was recreating the moment the Barghest tore me apart. A bit of poetic justice, I suppose.

Sirius buried his snout into Sugita’s open stomach, dragging out his intestines and devouring them like links of sausage.

”No! Stop eating me! STOP IT! GAAAAAAH!”

Sirius tore through the liver, the lungs, every organ he could reach. Then he moved to the limbs, snapping bone and lapping up the marrow. Sugita watched, helpless, as his own body was processed into wolf feed. Sirius even made a point of swallowing Sugita’s “manhood” in one gulp.

 ”P-please… don’t… my body… don’t eat…”

Once the torso and limbs were shredded, Sirius clamped his jaws onto Sugita’s throat and ripped it out. Sugita choked on his own blood, dying one final, agonizing death as the wolf cracked his skull to get to the brain. By the time Sirius was done, only a stained skeleton remained.

* * *

”Stop this madness! How could you do this to the Hero!”

A new voice cut through the square. I thought we’d be going for another round, but it seemed the party was being crashed. It was Mariana Plaudix, the Second Princess and the “Saint” of the Hero Church.

”Oops. My bad, Sieben. She slipped through,” Shamrock said, leaning against a pillar.

His tone was far too casual to be a real apology. He even gave me a quick wink. He’d let her escape on purpose, timing her arrival for maximum impact.

Mariana shoved her way through the crowd, rushing to the remains of the crucifixion stand.

”Mariana…?” Sugita gasped as he reformed.

”Yes, my Hero! Oh, you poor, brave soul… I’ll have you out of this in a moment!”

The shackles weren’t locked; they were just heavy. For Sugita, they were an immovable prison, but for a third party, they were easy to unlatch. She freed his legs, then his right arm. She reached for the final shackle on his left wrist.

”By the way, Sugita,” I called out. “I told you I placed three curses on you. I also mentioned the last one would only trigger if you tried to leave that stand.”

”So what? Once I’m free, I’m going to hunt you down and -“

”The final curse is called Release Demise,” I interrupted. “It triggers the moment you are fully unchained. Every ounce of damage, every death, every moment of agony you’ve suffered today… it all hits you at once. Not just your body, but your soul. You won’t come back from this. You won’t even exist.”

Sugita’s eyes went wide. “What?! Mariana, wait! Don’t touch it!”

 ”What…?”

Too late. The final latch clicked open.

Every fatal wound he had suffered today simultaneously manifested. Blood sprayed from a thousand phantom cuts. His skin began to bulge and split in a perfect grid pattern.

 ”No… no, no, no! I don’t want to die! I don’t want to -“

He had kept his sanity only because death wasn’t permanent. Now that the void was staring back at him, he shattered. He began to sob, a broken, pathetic mess.

”Please! Kill me again! Do whatever you want! I’m sorry! I’ll do anything! Just don’t let me vanish! I don’t want to be gone! HELP ME!”

”Sorry,” I said. “You’re out of time.”

 ”No! No! Please! HEL -“

Pop.

With a sickeningly pathetic sound, Sugita’s body burst. He didn’t just die; he detonated into a fine mist of blood and bone meal.

Mariana, who had been inches away, was drenched from head to toe. She stood there, frozen, shivering as chunks of her “Hero” slid off her face. Sugita was gone. Not dead, but erased.

”Huh…? What…?” she whispered, staring at her blood-stained hands.

”How does it feel, Princess?” I laughed. “How does it feel to be the one who delivered the killing blow to your precious Hero? Our. Great. Saint. Hahahahaha!”

 ”I… I didn’t… no… no… NOOOOOOOOOOO!”

Mariana’s scream tore through the square, long after the last of Sugita had finished settling into the dirt.

 —

 Summary:

Sugita undergoes a brutal gauntlet of executions by Leki, Yukiko, and Lil’s wolf Sirius. Just as Princess Mariana attempts a ‘rescue’, she unknowingly triggers the final curse. Sugita’s soul is erased as he detonates, leaving Mariana traumatized and covered in his remains.

 —

 Trivia:

 - Yukiko is terrible at remembering faces, even of people she knew.

 - Sieben explicitly stated he placed three curses, but Sugita ignored the warning.

 - Vampirism in this world requires the victim to die while being drained to turn.

 - Shamrock deliberately let Mariana escape to create the final irony

 —

 Character Insight:

Sieben demonstrates a sadistic level of planning, turning Mariana’s self-righteousness into the weapon that destroys her hero. Yukiko shows a complete detachment from her former human life, viewing Sugita merely as a meal.

 —

 Behind the Scenes:

The author used a real-life toxic coworker as the model for Sugita, channeling real resentment into this fictional execution. The final quote mocks the ‘yandere’ trope by referencing Kotonoha from School Days.

 TL Notes:

1 Wrath Impact (ラースインパクト): A shared skill used by Leki and Sieben.

2 Lesser Vampire (レッサーヴァンパイア): A lower-tier vampire with no sunlight resistance.

3 True Ancestor (真祖): A high-tier, pure-blood vampire like Yukiko.

4 Death Penalty (デスペナ): A curse that forces the target to resurrect as a human after death.

5 Release Demise (解放終焉): The final curse that collapses all accumulated damage onto the soul upon release.

Notes:

• Sugita – Leader of the Sugita gang and main bully of Natsumi Sasaki, born into heavy police privilege—his grandfather is the Superintendent General, his father a Superintendent—so every mess he causes gets buried. Lean build, sharp features, that cold, arrogant “I can get away with it” stare. Wields the unique skill Steal (窃盗), which he uses to manipulate minds and control women. Once impersonated the hero Sieben with a mask and greatsword, but lost everything and dropped to Level 7. He’s a “Hero” cursed to die and resurrect endlessly—turned into a Lesser Vampire, executed, and ultimately erased from existence.

• Leki – Lil’s daughter. Height: 140 cm, B-W-H: 70, 54, 69. She looks more like a Siberian Husky puppy than a wolf. Honestly, she just looks like a stuffed toy, recently transformed into a human form. Now use great axe as weapon.

• Sieben – Young man with black hair and a mask covering his eyes. He purchased Honoka and Ria.

• Yuki – Yuki Chihiro. Height 178 cm, weight 70 kg (Male). Natsumi’s childhood friend. A handsome, athletic top student in the soccer club.

• Lil – One of the heroines. Height 166 cm, B-W-H: 90-56-90. She is a top-tier beauty with long indigo hair down to her waist, a large scar on her abdomen and sharp golden eyes. She has wolf ears and a tail.

• Natsumi – The protagonist. Height 168 to 171 cm, weight 57 to 59 kg. He has a baby face, but he hides his eyes with his bangs. He was bullied by the Sugita gang just because his name sounded like a girl’s name.

• Barghest – A massive wolf the size of a warhorse with bluish-gray fur. It is the King of the Forest of the Greedy Fool.

• Mariana – Second princess of Plaudix and a Saint of the Hero Church, looks like she should be in class with the students—blonde hair, blue eyes, and wrapped in thin, delicate silk. Tries to rescue Sugita, so she’s technically doing the “holy” thing, but it’s still an awkward, politically messy move for a royal Saint.

• Shamrock – Leader of the diversionary force for Orc’s Subjugation on Chapter 85 at the front gate.

• Ria – A beautiful woman with blonde hair and blue eyes. Has a beauty mark (mole) under her right eye. Well-balanced proportions.
