Maya was referring to the ‘Gekka: Shingetsu’ⁿ technique. A sword skill so swift the blade itself vanishes, leaving not even a shadow. The New Moon.
”Kagaya-sama, you’re on board with this, right? You don’t want to die here either, do you?” Maya asked.
”Why?” Kagaya replied.
”What do you mean ‘why’? You saw his cruelty with your own eyes. If you don’t want to suffer a fate like that—”

While we stood frozen in confusion, Sasaki spoke up.

As he spoke, something long and thin sprouted from his lower back. A tail. Bluish-black and slick with slime, the tip slithered toward the limbless Maya. Its end split open like a giant, hungry maw.
”W-wait! Stop! STOP IT!” I screamed.
I tried to run to her, but Kagaya and Narumi grabbed me.
”Get off me! Let go! Maya! MAYA!”
”I’m afraid I can’t do that. Besides, I’m curious to see what happens to Ise-san,” Kagaya said.
”Don’t get in Master’s way~” Narumi added.
Her strength was terrifying; I couldn’t move an inch. As I struggled, the tip of the tail hovered over Maya’s head and opened wide.
”A… ah… My Lady… NOOOOOO!”
She was swallowed. The tail bulged, taking on the shape of her struggling body. I could see her writhing in agony from the outside.
