I woke up.
It felt like I’d had a nightmare-or maybe a really wonderful dream. Yeah, looking back, I think it was a great dream. I can’t remember the details at all, though. That’s just how dreams go.
I look around the area. I’m inside the tent we always use. Oshiro Yuuko, Koganei, and Akiyama-kun are all sleeping here too. By the way, this tent is a magic item; from the outside, it looks like a normal tent, but the interior is incredibly spacious. Actually, it’s a house. It has private rooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and even a toilet.
Anyway, I try to clear my head. We were supposed to be heading out on a bit of a journey to subjugate a wyvern. Night watch was split into shifts: first was me and Yuuko-san, next was Akiyama-kun and Koganei, and the last shift was Shin-san and that woman with the wolf pup, Lil-san.
Lil-san is an incredible beauty with a soft-spoken, gentle vibe, but is she actually ‘human’? She has dog-or maybe wolf-ears on her head, and though I can’t tell because of her cloak, she probably has a tail too. At the very least, I’ve never seen anyone like her before.
Well, putting her aside for now.
Still in my pajamas, I head toward one of the rooms. I pass Koganei’s room and head for the one where Akiyama-kun is sleeping.
I stand before the door and slowly creak it open. No one is there but Akiyama-kun. I was worried Yuuko-san might be here too.
I approach the sleeping Akiyama-kun. He must be a heavy sleeper. The sheets aren’t even messy; he’s just lying there on his back.
Koganei always thrashed around in his sleep, after all.
I slip under the covers and pull down his pants along with his underwear. A thick, musky scent of a man-of a male-wafts up.

”Ryunya, what happened?” I asked.

He’s being indecisive. He probably doesn’t know what to do.
”Shin, listen to this! Honoka tried to steal Ryunya! And Ryunya just went along with it! Even though he’s my boyfriend, what is he thinking!?” Oshiro-san shrieked in a fit of rage.
”Eeeh, why does it matter who I sleep with?” Honoka asked casually.
”Of course it matters!!” Oshiro-san screamed.
”Uh, Yuuko, look…”
”Shut up, Ryunya!” Oshiro-san snapped.
Akiyama-kun tried to say something, but Oshiro-san cut him off. She isn’t even listening to him.
But listen, Oshiro-san. This isn’t Japan. Concepts of marriage and relationships are different here.
”Look, I don’t know how it was in the country you guys came from, but in this country-and most others-polygamy is perfectly legal.”
Akiyama-kun looked startled.
”T-that’s right. Then we can just both be with you at the same time. Right?” Akiyama-kun said.
”What are you talking about!? There’s no way that’s allowed–“
”Hmm, I’m fine with that,” Honoka interrupted.
”What!? Honoka, what are you saying!?”
For someone with Japanese sensibilities, that reaction is expected. Though some people adapt quickly. I-Natsumi-was like that, and Sugita probably would be too.
Though, comparing myself to someone like Sugita leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
”It’s fine. I have enough drive to take care of both of you. Unlike Koganei over here,” Akiyama-kun said.
”The hell did you say!?” Koganei barked.
Koganei snapped at Akiyama-kun. He already has an inferiority complex toward him, and now his girlfriend Honoka has been taken; it’s only natural for him to explode.
”Honestly, Koganei, your attitude and the way you talk are usually terrible. It’s no wonder Honoka got tired of you. I’m surprised she didn’t dump you sooner,” Akiyama-kun said condescendingly.
”Guh… Honoka! You’re my girlfriend! Why would you choose someone like Akiyama–urk!?”
Honoka was looking at Koganei as if he were something filthy. Her face was a clear mix of disgust and contempt.
Koganei flinched, visibly discouraged, and slunk away.
”Well, I’ll be looking after Honoka now, so you can just sit there and watch,” Akiyama-kun sneered.
Akiyama-kun is a real piece of work for looking down on him like that…

Things remained tense during the journey. Honoka followed my-Natsumi’s-orders perfectly. I’ll have to reward her later.
The orders I gave Honoka were: ‘Sleep with Akiyama’ and ‘Forget everything from your dreams until I reveal my true identity.’
She was quite hesitant about the former, but when I told her I’d reward her if she succeeded, she agreed instantly. Apparently, her requested reward is ‘Make me c**m a lot.’ By the way, since I’m having her do this honey-trap work, I gave her prior orders not to ‘finish’ or ‘get pregnant.’

Anyway, amidst that toxic atmosphere, we set up camp for the second night. At the request of Koganei and Oshiro-san, we split the watch into two shifts. First was Akiyama-kun, Koganei, and Oshiro-san. After that, it was me, Lil-san, and Honoka.
They clearly wanted to keep Akiyama-kun and Honoka apart so a repeat performance wouldn’t happen.
Now, it’s our turn.
I stand up straight. There’s something I need to do.
”Shin-san, where are you going?” Honoka asked with a lonely expression.

She really does seem to sense something even with her memory wiped. When I pat Honoka’s head, she narrows her eyes happily.
She’s acting more and more like a small animal, like a dog or a cat.
”Just some business. I’ll be back before dawn. Try to get along with Lil-san.”

Honoka… you don’t actually remember, do you? Regardless, I left the camp to finish my business.
