Chapter 61 Lil ⑨
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
In the end, it was the following morning by the time we finally regrouped with Honoka-san and the rest of the party.
Leki and Honoka-san already knew exactly how capable Lil and I were, so they hadn’t been particularly worried. Himezaki-san and Logan-san, however, were a different story entirely. I’d put them through the wringer with worry, and they gave me a hell of a scolding for it once we were back together.
That said, Logan-san was stunned to see Marguerite among the four girls I had in tow. It made sense; the daughter of the Merchant Guild Master had been missing for a month. He was incredibly grateful, though apparently, rescuing Marguerite and making him worry were two separate issues in his mind. Fortunately, Marguerite stepped in and quieted Himezaki-san and Logan-san down, so I didn’t have to endure the lecture for too long.
The journey from that point on was smooth. We didn’t run into a single monster or bandit, and everything proceeded without a hitch. Well, for everyone else, at least.
My side of things was a bit more grueling.
First off, whenever I was driving the wagon, Lil would take the spot to my left while Marguerite claimed the right. Lil’s reasoning was that the driver’s box didn’t trigger her motion sickness as badly as the back of the wagon did. If it had ended there, it wouldn’t have been an issue. The problem was that Marguerite-and sometimes both of them-insisted on performing fellatio while I was trying to work.
To an outsider, it probably just looked like they were feeling sick and using my lap as a pillow. In reality, they were busy taking my c**k into their mouths. There was no way I could stay focused on driving like that. One time, I mismanaged the reins and we hit a bump; the jolt caused Marguerite to accidentally bite down on me. I let out a scream of pure agony and spent the next few minutes writhing in pain.
After that, I made them promise to leave me alone while I was driving. Just to be safe, I started keeping Leki on my lap as a barrier.
The nights were just as bad. Someone was always coming after me. Lil and Honoka-san went without saying, but the other four girls were constantly pressing me for s*x too. Specifically, Lil, Marguerite, and Mercedes were relentless. Marguerite and Mercedes had developed a total obsession with my member, begging for it every single day.
Everyone except for me, Lil, and Honoka-san used the magic tent she owned. I tried to time things for when Himezaki-san and Logan-san were away on watch, but I’m sure they figured it out regardless. Himezaki-san has a bit of a prudish streak, and her gaze grew colder and more judgmental by the day.
Then there was Honoka-san. As a s*x slave, her role was purely for s*xual outlet, but since I was already being drained by the others, I hadn’t called on her. Apparently, she’d been stewing in her own frustration the whole time. It was a bit pitiful, so I decided I’d dote on her properly once we reached the city.
Because of all that, I was running on almost no sleep. The only time I actually got any rest was when I wasn’t the one holding the reins.
Still, my exhaustion aside, the trip was a success. About ten days after leaving the elf village, we finally reached our destination: Foxia, the capital of Greedia.
* * *
”Hmm, how should I put this…” I muttered.
”It doesn’t really feel like another world compared to Plaudix, does it?” Honoka-san asked.
”I was thinking the same thing,” Lil added.
If I had to describe Foxia in one word, it would be “hodgepodge.”
Vast wheat fields stretched out beyond the city, surrounded by spiked fences to keep out Goblins and other monsters. A wall about five meters high enclosed the city itself. They were even using the Norfolk crop rotation system¹ here.
The city gates were massive, and people moved through them freely. There were simply too many travelers for the guards to check everyone’s ID during the day. They closed the gates at night, though there was a smaller side door for guards and emergency messengers.
The cityscape itself was the real shock. There weren’t any skyscrapers, but ten-story buildings were scattered everywhere. I’d been expecting something more “high fantasy,” so seeing half-familiar architecture was actually a bit of a letdown. However, Himezaki-san noted that the infrastructure was solid-complete with water and sewage systems, flush toilets, and even bidets. Having actual baths was a godsend. Back in Plaudix, the toilets were primitive and the baths were non-existent.
If I saw a car drive by, I’d seriously question if I was even in another world. But instead of cars, the streets were filled with horse carriages, and the roads were dirt rather than asphalt. I’d see the occasional person in plate armor or wizard robes, and I even spotted a short, bearded old guy-a Dwarf. I hadn’t seen any beast-folk like Lil around here yet, though.
The more I saw, the more I realized just how many “standard light novel cheats” were already being used in this world. I didn’t know enough about modern tech to replicate it myself, so I didn’t even plan to try.
This was where we parted ways with Marguerite and Logan-san. Marguerite was heading home, and Logan-san was going to report to Merchant Guild Foxia. Marguerite invited us to her house as a thank-you, but I politely declined for now. Honestly, I wanted to use her to build some connections, but she needed to rest first. She was clearly exhausted, even if she didn’t realize it. I told her we’d discuss the thank-you another day.
Besides, Logan-san mentioned that the Merchant Guild Master was a helicopter parent and Marguerite was a total daddy’s girl. I didn’t want to ruin their reunion.
Once we said our goodbyes, Himezaki-san led us to the Monster Hunter Guild. From the outside, it looked like an old-fashioned bank or post office, but the people filing in and out were all wearing leather armor or carrying magic staves.
The interior felt even more like a bank, with a long row of reception counters. Instead of a line, they used an announcement system to call people up. It was actually pretty efficient.
The place also served as a cafeteria. It didn’t smell like booze, so I figured they didn’t serve alcohol there. If you wanted to drink, you went to a tavern.
Only a few people glanced our way when we entered, and they quickly looked away. There were no typical “veteran vs. rookie” clichés. I was almost a little disappointed.
”Alright, we’re going to turn in our report. New registrations are over there,” Himezaki-san said.
We headed toward the desk. Since they probably didn’t get new recruits every day, the receptionist looked like she was bored to tears.
”Excuse me, I’d like to register,” I said.
”Huh? Oh! Right! New Monster Hunter registration,” the receptionist replied, snapping into a professional smile. “Would you like to register with the Mercenary Guild at the same time?”
I had to resist the urge to ask if she used to work at a fast-food counter.
”The Mercenary Guild too?” I asked.
”Yes! There’s no extra fee, and doing it all at once saves time,” she explained.
”Sure, let’s go with that. The ones registering are me, Lil, and-\\-“
”And Leki!” Leki shouted, raising her hand.
The receptionist gave a strained smile. “I’m sorry, sweetie. Regulations say children can’t register. Come back once your ‘Larva’ status is cleared, okay?”
”No! I want to join now! No, no, no!” Leki started throwing a tantrum.
”Leki, don’t give the lady a hard time,” I said.
”But…!”
”Rules are rules. It doesn’t matter how strong you are. Just be patient for now,” I told her.
”Hmph…” Leki pouted, puffing out her cheeks. She was incredibly cute.
”…Fine. But as soon as my Larva stage is over, I’m definitely registering!” Leki huffed.
”We’ll be waiting for you! Now, just these two registering? What about that lady…?” the receptionist asked, looking at Honoka-san.
”Oh, I’m already a member,” Honoka-san said.
She reached into her top and pulled her Obsidian-rank tag out from her cleavage. She’d probably actually pulled it from her Item Box and just made it look like it came from her chest to mess with me.
”……Tch. They’re huge,” the receptionist muttered.
”Did you say something?” I asked.
”Nothing! Please fill out these forms,” she said quickly.
She handed over two sheets asking for name, gender, and skills.
”Can I use a fake name?” I asked.
”Yes, that’s fine. We have plenty of people who need to keep their identities secret,” she replied.
I kept my list of skills simple so I wouldn’t look too suspicious-just “Greatsword” and “Earth Magic.” I told Lil to just put down “Unarmed Combat.”
”Is this okay?” I asked, handing them back.
”Yes, this looks fine. Now, please place your hand on this crystal,” she said.
”What’s this for?”
”It reads your Level and mana waveform. We link that to your tag so no one else can use it. It prevents people from stealing tags to claim rewards,” she explained.
”We actually caught someone trying that recently. They were caught immediately, of course!” the receptionist added. I figured the person who got their tag stolen in the first place had to be an idiot. “Go ahead.”
I placed my hand on the crystal.
”Alright, let’s see… Level… THIRTY-THREE!?” the receptionist shrieked.
The guild went silent for a heartbeat before erupting into whispers.
”Level 33? Seriously?”
”Whoa, someone recruit that guy!”
”Heuee~, I didn’t realize your Level was that high~” Alisha’s lazy voice drifted over.
”Ahem! My apologies, I lost my composure,” the receptionist said, shaking her head. “Now, Lil-sama… Level 25… Just who are you people? And are those ears and tails real? I’ve never seen a race like that.”
”I’d prefer if you didn’t pry,” I said firmly.
”Oh! My apologies. Please wait a moment.”
She returned with an Amber tag² and a Red Copper tag³.
”Here you go. Red Copper for Sieben-sama and Amber for Lil-sama. Please don’t lose them; there’s a fee for replacements.”
I took the tags. My name was neatly engraved on mine.
”That completes the registration. Now, as for the duties–“
”I already know the drill. And the ranking system,” I interrupted.
”Oh, that’s a help then.”
I’d inherited enough of Shin’s memories to know the basics.
”Where do I go to turn in monster materials or claim bounties?” I asked.
”Take a number and wait to be called. Is there anything else?”
”No, that’s it.”
”Thank you for registering with us today!”
We grabbed our number and went to sit down. It was finally time to get paid for all the materials and heads we’d collected during the trip.

—
Behind the Scenes:
The author uses the ‘Norfolk system’ as a shorthand for an advanced, near-modern agricultural society within a fantasy setting.

TL Notes:
Notes:
• Honoka – A member of the relief team with healing magic. Despite her cute, short, ‘transistor glamour’ appearance, she is cold-hearted and mocks Sasaki, now a bound slave to him.
• Logan – A merchant and former Monster Hunter who owns the wagon. He is a married man with a daughter.
• Leki – Lil’s daughter. Height: 140 cm, B-W-H: 70, 54, 69. She looks more like a Siberian Husky puppy than a wolf. Honestly, she just looks like a stuffed toy, recently transformed into a human form. Now use great axe as weapon.
• Lil – One of the heroines. Height 166 cm, B-W-H: 90-56-90. She is a top-tier beauty with long indigo hair down to her waist, a large scar on her abdomen and sharp golden eyes. She has wolf ears and a tail.
• Marguerite – Young girl with long, pale blue hair in a catatonic state. Possesses ‘slight’ buds for breasts.
• Mercedes – A girl with black hair, rare in the world. Small chest, thin pubic hair trimmed in an inverted triangle. Large, upturned eyes that lost their light due to trauma.
• Alisha – A Miko with fluffy pink hair and a prodigious, triple-digit bust measurement.
• Sieben – Young man with black hair and a mask covering his eyes. He purchased Honoka and Ria.
• Shin – A level 18 greatsword user and Hunter from Rubia. Jade rank.
