Chapter 228 Choice

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

Once more, every eye in the room locked onto him. But unlike the goddesses’ expectant looks, his servants’ eyes showed a deep, hidden worry.

The reason for their sad looks was easy to understand. Depending on their master’s final choice, they could lose their bond with him forever. The girls had complete trust that he loved them more than anything as the ones he treasured most.

But the goddesses’ demand was so great that it could overturn everything. Even if they had a small doubt that he might choose the great honor of becoming a god and leave them, no one could blame them for it.

So, calming the fears of his beloved wives was the most important thing he had to do right now.

Without changing his seated position, Yuuri straightened his back, squared his shoulders, and turned fully to face the two hovering goddesses.

”Hypothetically speaking, even if I were to accept your invitation, what happens to my wives?” Yuuri demanded, his voice cold and sharp. “My understanding is that they were the explicit reward provided to bring me to this world in the first place. If you are telling me to cut ties with them here and now, then I must declare that you are violating our original agreement!”

If the (Familial Workshop) stopped working during the fusion of the two goddesses’ Authorities, he did not know if Ashley and the others could keep their physical existence. And even if he argued based purely on the strength of their marriage bonds, the possibility that the gods would simply reject his pleas for their own convenience was far from zero.

That was exactly why he used the verbal promise that the goddesses could not easily break.

He had spoken of his beloved women as if they were just possessions, but Ashley and the others suddenly dropped their sad expressions and their faces lit up.

The ones whose faces relaxed at that quick change were, strangely, the two goddesses who had been using their power to overwhelm him moments before. But the one who opened her mouth to speak was Yui, still breathless and flushed from their intense, passionate kiss. Her expression was a mixed blur—the face of a woman excited by a man’s strong desire, mixed with the face of a goddess doting on a human who had given in to her completely.

”Of course[1]♡ Of course it’s fine, Yuuri-kun♡” Yui cooed, her voice full of a crazy, sweet tone. “The girls who became your servants were always meant to be a present to make you willingly give up your humanity♡ There’s no way we would force such a cruel thing upon you as stripping away your companions for the endless eternity that awaits you♡”

As if fully overcome by the joy that her plan was reaching its perfect end, the wicked goddess moved her body in pure pleasure, not caring that her long, spilling hair fell into wild disorder. Faced with that tempting expression and her perfect body—a body he could take many times without ever growing tired of it—Yuuri reached out, grabbing her heavy, swaying breasts and pinning her down on the white floor.

”Ahnn♡ You don’t need to worry, because naturally, that includes me too♡” Yui whispered, giving a very flirtatious smile as she lay pinned beneath him. “We’re going to the trouble of forging a brand-new compatriot from scratch, after all♡ It’s just much more convenient to attach a dedicated vessel to Yuuri-kun right from the start, so that you can rely on me as your senior whenever the need arises♡”

As if she had known that the man would not be able to resist and would touch her, Yui’s Crotch Tattoo pulsed with a bright light as she gave out the information in small parts to keep his attention. Before he knew it, the many details of the divine rewards coming from her wet, tempting lips made him lose himself in her words, completely forgetting the deep fear of no longer being human.

”The (Familial Workshop) will fuse with the ‘dungeon core’, becoming a direct extension of Yuuri-kun’s own power,” Yui explained, giggling softly. “Naturally, everything contained within the Workshop will be rewritten as a fundamental part of Yuuri-kun himself, allowing you to pull them out whenever you desire in the future♡-In other words, Yuuri-kun, before you actually touch the ‘dungeon core’, you just need to store all of your servants inside the Workshop. By doing that, our physical bodies will be able to exist through Yuuri-kun himself, even after the (Familial Workshop) is gone-ah, fuaahn♡♡”

She explained it as if it were the most wonderful thing, using the logic of divine miracles to make him understand, while Yuuri held her down.

If it were a goddess who had already done countless supernatural things, her big claims could not be dismissed as lies. But the one asked to do this huge task was a human who had not yet become a god. No matter how sure the great goddess was that he would master it, he could not even guess how many centuries of training he would need just to reach such a high level of difficulty.

”Ah, how absolutely marvelous…♡” Ashley murmured, her eyes shining with dreamy devotion. “To think that our bodies, which were already remade solely for Yuuri’s pleasure, will now be permitted to exist directly through Yuuri himself…♡”

”Please! By all means♡” Suzuri said at once, bowing her head deeply. “If it is Yuuri, we know you will absolutely achieve it, if only for the sake of holding us in your embrace once more♡ Please, allow this humble servant to accompany you on the path to ascending as a god♡”

”Yes, yes♡ It seems everyone truly wants to become Yuuri-kun’s servants in the truest sense of the word, doesn’t it♡” Yui added, her voice full of playful fun. “Look, you mustn’t betray the expectations of your lovely wishes♡ This is the moment to take the goddess’s hand and dedicate yourself fully to your training♡”

Completely ignoring the protagonist’s deep worry, Ashley and the others fell into a happy dream, imagining the pure joy that was about to come to them. To make things worse, even Yui—whom he had silenced for a moment—joined in to support them, and the serious room of decision was suddenly filled with an excited, floating mood.

But no matter how sure a goddess’s approval was, he could not feel peace based on a power he did not have yet. If he failed to master that power, the girls would be lost forever, never to come back.

Unable to bear the heavy weight of that responsibility, Yuuri looked at Ashley, silently asking her to think again. But his childhood friend just nodded back with the same loving smile she had worn the day she fell in love with him, giving a deep, respectful bow. And while Ashley had spoken first as the head of the servants, Suzuri quickly did the same, saying yes without any hesitation.

—Did those two truly understand the terrible danger of what they were about to do?

The lack of hesitation from his most loved and loyal servants made that hard question come to his mind. But two girls so smart could not have failed to think that far. Their steady posture showed a trust that was very heavy to carry—a silent promise that even if their master’s strength was not enough, they would never hold a grudge against him.

”Wait a minute. Everyone is deciding things far too easily…!” Marina interrupted, her sharp voice cutting through the excited mood. “Longevity and true immortality are two completely different things. Even the massive lifespans we had braced ourselves for are nothing but a fleeting blink of an eye when placed before literal eternity!”

But because she had an even sharper, more analytical mind, the Princess—their partner—quickly spoke her strong objection to their fast agreement.

No, this was the only sane, normal reaction. Even if their lives were extended by thousands of years through a Divine Protection, an end would still come no matter how hard they fought. But if someone had to live through forever, there would surely be a moment in that endless time when they would regret it. The deep fear that such a future feeling could take away the love they felt now was enough to make her soul shake in terror.

”Yes, it’s only natural for Marina to hesitate,” Yui answered smoothly, her eyes narrowing with a dark, knowing look. “After all, eternity is a stretch of time so vast that even we goddesses exhausted every option available just to have a human to cling to. So, you see, as a special exception just for Marina, how about we let you keep existing with the exact same mortal body you have now? …Once you finally make up your mind, you can just ask Yuuri-kun to turn you into a true servant. If Yuuri-kun threatens us to grant you that kind of grace period, we’ll just have to listen to whatever he says♡”

Faced with the sharp insight of the young priestess princess, Yui showed a rare moment of understanding, as if praising her smart eyes. Marina felt a small wave of relief at the other option given to her, but the poisonous goddess moved over to the poor girl like a white snake, wrapping her arms around her and whispering softly in her ear.

”But… is that really okay, I wonder? ♡” Yui hissed in a low, tempting voice against her cheek. “Even though you worked so hard to become Yuuri-kun’s number two, if things stay like this, Suzuri and I will end up far above you in the hierarchy, won’t we? ♡ Everyone here is so sweet that they’ll never say it out loud, but wouldn’t you, Marina, be the one to eternally regret the fact that you flinched and backed down when it mattered most? ♡♡”

”Hey, cut it out with that kind of threatening,” Yuuri snapped, stepping forward.

She had said it as if it were a private, secret whisper. But their bodies—greatly improved by Divine Protection—clearly heard the goddess’s beautiful, carrying voice.

If that were true, then the other servants had also heard it, making the priestess princess shake hard in the goddess’s tight hold. Within the order of the Workshop, the only reason Marina had power that went beyond simple seniority was because of the complete, steady trust her master had in her. If she stepped back now for a reason as simple as being afraid of forever, her respect among the servants who had blindly given their lives to follow their master would fall to the ground.

Was that a sin she should carry forever, just to focus on her duties as a Princess who cared for her people? Weighing her master’s final success in his training against the eternal shame she would have to carry, Marina’s will broke with sad ease.

”N-No… I don’t want that…♡” Marina sobbed, her guard breaking as tears flowed down her face. “Losing my place as Yuuri’s number two… I absolutely, completely hate it♡ I hate the thought of Yuuri refusing to listen to what I have to say anymore♡”

”H-Hey. Come on,” Yuuri said softly, pulling her away. “There’s no way I’d ever stop trusting you over something like this.”

Unlike her older sisters who had given in at once, blinded by their pure devotion, Marina’s hesitation came from the same smart, analytical mind that he had always depended on. Watching her cry bitterly as if she had done something very wrong, how could he not comfort her?

But even as he pulled the golden girl back from the wicked goddess’s hold and held her gently in his arms, her crying did not stop. Instead, she gave him a sharp, intense look, as if telling off her master for not thinking ahead.

”Uuu, Yuuri, you seriously don’t have enough self-awareness as a master!” Marina cried out, her voice shaking with anger and despair. “The only reason you rely on me so much is because everyone else actually listens to what I say! Despite that, if I’m the only one who doesn’t fuse into one with the ‘dungeon core’ alongside Yuuri, that systemic rift is absolutely going to blow up in our faces sooner or later. …If I chose to just wait and see out of pure self-preservation, my words would completely lose their weight among the others. And if I can’t keep everyone in line like I always have, Yuuri will absolutely stop treating me as someone invaluable. There’s… there’s just no way I could ever endure something like that!”

Because he deeply respected this younger, golden girl, her strong words cut straight through him.

The reason he kept this very dependable Princess by his side was not just because of her great beauty or her very cute reactions. It was because he was deeply moved by her fast thinking and reliable judgment. Also, the strong trust she had from the other servants was a main part of how he valued her. If that trust disappeared, and someone asked if he could still treat Marina the same way, he would not know what to say.

In the end, Marina’s real value was closely tied to the respect she had from the rest of their household. While her actions sometimes differed from what the other girls wanted, within the different members of the Workshop group, Marina’s strong effort to keep the respect of all those different wills was something that should never be broken.

”That’s why… that’s why, you see, this is entirely a matter of my own pride!” Marina declared, hitting her small fists against his chest as her will came back to life. “Just because eternity is terrifying, I should just ‘wait and see’? …Absolutely not! If eternity is terrifying, then living through it while constantly being pointed at behind my back is what I should truly fear!”

Lighting up her strong pride again even while shaking before the idea of forever, Marina stood tall once more. The moment Yuuri pulled a towel from the Workshop to wipe away the tears on her face, her jewel-like, golden eyes locked onto him with a strong, unbreakable look.

”Alright. I won’t ask you whether it’s a good or bad idea anymore,” Yuuri said, his voice firm with complete certainty. “…Marina, come with me. Forever and ever. Continue to be the servant I trust more than anyone else for all of eternity!”

”U-Um, I’ll do my absolute best!” Marina nodded hard, a bright blush spreading on her tear-stained cheeks. “If I’m constantly pouring all my effort into making sure Yuuri keeps trusting me, I’m sure eternity won’t be scary at all! …So, let me say it too. Yuuri, I’m coming with you. Come to think of it, Shelm-sama reincarnated me specifically to bring Yuuri to this place. After gaining such an irreplaceable existence, if I were to drop out here and just watch you walk away, I know I would regret it. So, even if I’m going to regret it, I want to do it after pouring absolutely everything I have into it. …F-For that exact reason, from here on out, please let me stay by your side as Yuuri’s beloved wife forever♡”

Going from a lost child overcome by her own intelligence, back to the respected Princess, then to the most trusted partner, Marina’s expression finally softened into that of a very sweet lover. Faced with her red face and her shy, watery eyes, a strong wave of pure possessiveness rose inside him, telling him he could never let her go, not even for a second.

Without caring that she was wearing her golden armor—which felt very light to him now—Yuuri lifted the small girl off the ground. Ignoring her embarrassed, wiggling protests, he held her small body tight against his chest, walking around the room like a wild animal guarding its prize.

”Thank you very much, Princess,” Ashley said softly, watching them with a warm, relieved smile.

”Thank you, big sister,” Suzuri added, bowing her head gracefully toward Marina.

After enjoying his wife’s cuteness for a good while, the others finally started to scold him, making him put Marina back down on the white floor. The moment he did, Ashley and Suzuri rushed to her side, gently taking the Princess’s hands to show their deep thanks for her choice to stay with them.

Leaving the three girls holding each other, Yuuri looked back at Yui. As if her part in this act was already done, the wicked goddess just moved her chin forward, pointing toward the two main gods standing silently before them. Stepping forward toward the divine beings with his mind fully made up, the first to speak was the dark-skinned goddess in deep blue clothes.

”First, you have our gratitude for making such a magnificent decision,” Mataaha said, her deep, commanding voice echoing through the hall. “We can easily divine the thoughts swirling within your breast, but if you are truly to become our divine kin, it is only proper that you declare your ultimate intent in spoken words.”

”Indeed, elder sister,” the Rainbow Goddess added, her fair skin wrapped in light silk as she stepped forward alongside her counterpart. “Please, let us hear that unshakeable resolve of yours.”

Together, the two huge beings stepped down toward the human they had spent so much effort cultivating.

—With that, he understood very clearly that this was the final point of choice.

The physical point of no return would be the moment his body touched the ‘dungeon core’. But to be counted among the gods meant that a being’s existence became tied to the weight of their words. If the two gods were making him give a formal promise here, it was to test his divine will through an act like that of a god.

So, if he said yes here, it would become a reality that could never be broken, based on the honor of the two most powerful gods.

Holding that heavy understanding in his heart, he turned back one last time before stepping before the gods, finding his gathered servants watching him with held breath. He gave a small, calming smile to the worried faces of his household, then turned back to face the goddesses without any hesitation. Standing straight before the two beautiful beings, and feeling the strong gaze of Ashley and the others on his back, he spoke his unbreakable will.

”Goddess of the Labyrinth, Mataaha,” Yuuri said loudly, his voice commanding and without doubt. “Bestow the ‘dungeon core’ upon me!”

 —

 Summary:

Yuuri faces a heavy decision as the goddesses offer him ascension to godhood, causing deep anxiety among his devoted wives who fear losing their eternal bond with him. Marina initially resists due to her fear of literal eternity and potential loss of status, but her fierce pride and love lead her to submit and reaffirm her commitment. Standing before the majestic deities Mataaha and the Rainbow Goddess, Yuuri confidently demands the dungeon core, fully embracing an irreversible divine destiny.

 —

 Trivia:

 - The (Familial Workshop) will completely fuse with the ‘dungeon core’ to become a direct extension of Yuuri’s personal power.

 - To survive the transition, Yuuri’s servants must be explicitly stored inside the Workshop before he touches the core.

 - Marina’s unique authority within the household is dependent on the other servants respecting her and her keeping everyone in line.

 - Yui reveals that the servants were originally a calculated divine gift intended to make Yuuri abandon his human identity.

 - Shelm is explicitly named as the deity responsible for reincarnating Marina specifically to bring Yuuri to this ultimate checkpoint.

Notes:

• Yuuri – A pragmatic, blunt, and arrogant commoner who conquered the Labyrinth, this master distribution strategist leads the Familial Workshop, hiding grotesque tentacle powers beneath a “Skillless” facade. A dominating provider for his wives, Yui and Suzuri, he is a human kneeling before goddesses, plagued by a crumbling sense of self as he faces the ultimate choice to ascend to godhood.

• Ashley – Daughter of Count Alegria and Yuuri’s beloved childhood friend, this poised, dignified noblewoman once adventured in the Capital Labyrinth. Now the head of the servants and a loyal attendant in Yuuri’s party, she stands by his side during the audience with Mataaha. Gracious, deeply smitten, and devoted, she secretly admires her master, seeks to be his dressing aide, and forms deep bonds with others.

• Yui – Once a wicked goddess and now Yuuri’s servant-bride, this silver-haired beauty boasts a flawless, voluptuous physique, long spilling hair, iridescent eyes, and a signature red-black crotch tattoo pulsing with light. Prone to laziness and tentacle-fondness, the hyper-energetic companion exhibits a sugary, yandere-like devotion to Yuuri. She currently lies unconscious in restrictive livery.

• Suzuri – A tall, statuesque, pale-skinned shinobi with ink-black hair, this nameless scout survived 80 years of Labyrinth petrification. Revived by expanding the consciousness of her leader, Yuuri, she serves as his deeply respectful, fiercely devoted herald and informant. Despite her refined high-society background, she nervously yet capably manages the treacherous depths of the Labyrinth.

• Shelm – Reincarnated as a member of the Shelm family under her divine name, the Wicked Goddess is a manipulative entity linked to Marina’s arrival. Driven by a desire to exploit Yuuri’s power, she uses her outward appearance and deceitful nature to influence those around her, shaping critical relationships to ensure he unleashes his true capabilities for her own hidden agenda.

• Mataaha – A labyrinth goddess with dark skin, silver eyes, and long black hair, she hovers majestically in deep blue vestments. She governs the Royal Capital Labyrinth with an old-fashioned, stern presence and a deep, authoritative voice. • Rainbow Goddess – A fair-skinned goddess wrapped in gossamer silk who hovers alongside Mataaha as a divine entity.
