Chapter 56 The Shiromuku
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
A white mist wrapped around Ashley’s body like a gentle embrace. Her shirt and pants began to unravel, threads loosening and fading into a swirl of pure white fragments that blended seamlessly with the haze. For just a heartbeat, her pale skin lay exposed, but the mist quickly thickened, spreading across her form to conceal everything once more.
Her bare shoulders peeked out briefly. The white covering her still lacked a defined shape, but it had already forced her old clothes to break apart, reshaping them into whatever the skill demanded. It was a relief that these were just replaceable items from a family restaurant’s endless supply—using this on one-of-a-kind garments would require far more caution.
”Wait, huh? Did Ashley’s bra just vanish too?” Marina blurted out.
”What? Really?” Yuuri stammered.
The worry had barely formed when the truth hit them. Unlike men’s underwear, a woman’s bra was almost irreplaceable, especially one supporting such full breasts. How could they protect them now? Yuuri glanced at Ashley in a panic, but she remained perfectly calm, surrendering herself to the emerging outfit.
”It’s fine,” Ashley said softly. “Thanks to Yuuri loving me so much lately, they’ve grown too big to fit anyway. They’ve been wearing out fast, so if Suzuri can make new ones, this is the perfect chance.”
If they could trust Suzuri’s new skill, clothes would never be an issue again. But before Yuuri could sigh in relief, Marina shot him a chilly glare over Ashley’s casual mention of their intimate habits. She placed a hand on her own ample chest, looking oddly downcast, though Ashley and Marina had entirely different desires when it came to such things.
As they spoke, the mist clinging to Ashley finally took shape.
”Oh♡ This is… amazing!”
It was a pure white dress. Thin layers of fabric hugged her generous bust and slim waist, highlighting every curve of her upper body. Though entirely white, the design avoided monotony, drawing from techniques Suzuri had used in her own shiromuku (traditional Japanese wedding dress). The skirt below bloomed with layered, rippling fabric that added volume and hid her legs completely. A matching white veil woven into her hair enhanced her feminine charm while radiating innocence.
”A wedding dress! Ashley, you look stunning…! I had no idea Suzuri could craft something so detailed!” Marina exclaimed.
”Hehe♡ As the counterpart to Darkness Wrap, I named it shiromuku♡ Since I went ahead and became a bride first, my big sisters should get to overlap as Yuuri’s brides too♡” Suzuri gushed, her words spilling out amid the white fluid still dripping from her open legs.
As the newest member of their group, Suzuri’s firm belief in pairing with Yuuri had driven her to claim the wife title first—clashing with her usual respect for her elders. To fix that contradiction quickly, she had to transform the eldest into a bride without delay.
”You look beautiful, Ashley,” Yuuri murmured.
”Ah♡ Thank you, Yuuri…♡”
He had always planned to marry them someday, but that was meant to come after conquering the deadly dungeon ahead. Even if death couldn’t separate them, for now, they were just lovers. Yet he’d accepted Suzuri as his wife, despite always calling Ashley his favorite. To make things right, he needed to marry Ashley and Marina too—but Suzuri’s shocking shiromuku in Darkness Wrap had thrown off the timing.
Now, thanks to Suzuri’s own concerns, the moment had arrived. Yuuri lifted his hips instinctively, reaching for the bride. This vision, which he’d seen only as a reward after overcoming every obstacle, stood before him. Ashley smiled from her seat, raising a hand in a long white glove to welcome him. He wondered if he deserved to touch such beauty without having achieved anything yet, but his feet moved on their own.
One more step, and his long-awaited bride would be in his arms—when Marina suddenly clung to his waist.
”No way! You can’t, Yuuri! It’s not time yet—dinner’s first! We only gathered in the bedroom because Suzuri needs care! The… the wedding has to wait until night! We haven’t even reviewed training, and if you start with Ashley now, it’ll ruin all our servant!”
Her words snapped him back to reality. Right now, only Suzuri, their caretaker, was allowed such intimacy. But facing Ashley’s irresistible bridal form without even a touch felt too cruel.
”C’mon, look♡ Lick, slurp♡ I’ll clean you nice and pretty♡ Okay? We’ve got time♡ Chuu♡ Just hold on♡ This isn’t anything bad♡ Nibble♡ I’m just helping poor immobile Suzuri♡♡”
She must have seen his disappointment. To keep him from losing control, Marina dove in without hesitation, wrapping her mouth around the spot. Her tongue deftly lapped up the remnants of his release from inside Suzuri. Her cheeks flushed, but her eyes held no mischief—only earnest effort to calm her master. Yuuri felt his racing heart steady under her care.
”There, all clean♡ Suzuri’s care is done, right? Hurry and make dinner—everyone change and head to the dining hall!”
”Yeah, you’re right… Ashley, I’m looking forward to tonight.”
”Yes♡ I got ahead of myself, eager to be Yuuri’s bride.”
Ashley blushed, perhaps ashamed of nearly sweeping him away, and cast jouka (purification) on each of them in turn. It pained Yuuri to leave the dressed-up Ashley untouched, but it was only until evening.
He climbed off the bed to grab clothes prepared before bathing, picking up Suzuri’s share too. But she still lay limp in Marina’s arms.
”Come on, Suzuri, no lazing around forever. We can’t dress you without underwear you make. Rest with Yuuri if you want, but we’re moving to the dining hall.”
”Hehe♡ Sorry for dressing only big sis♡ Big sis will be Yuuri’s bride too♡”
”Hey, Suzuri, snap out of—”
Was it lingering joy from creating the shiromuku, or her stubborn wish that all sisters become brides? Suzuri’s foggy words were cut short as Marina’s body suddenly enveloped in the same white mist.
”Whoa, bright!”
”Kyaa♡ Hey, that’s mean, Suzuri! You wiped out my underwear too!”
Standing close to Suzuri beside Marina, Yuuri’s vision flooded with white. His eyes recovered quickly, and he turned back. What took time for Ashley transformed Marina in an instant.
”Nfu♡ Big sis pretty♡”
”What the heck! Warn me next time, Suzuri! Yuuri, tell her off! She might erase important gear—think before you use it— Yuuri?”
The second pure white dress. Marina’s golden hair shone brighter against the veil. Yuuri stared into her upturned golden eyes, missing Suzuri crawling closer until she touched him.
”Hehe♡ Tuxedo for Yuuri too♡ Be a handsome husband♡”
”Wow, cool… I mean! Suzuri, stop staying naked— Kyaa♡”
The change was instant. The skill caused no pain, and Yuuri knew he should scold the out-of-control Suzuri. But Marina spun in her dress, showing off her cute figure to restore order, which only distracted him. The moment he turned to warn Suzuri, she slipped her hands under his arms and whisked him away.
Ignoring Marina’s frantic kicks and complaints from his arms, Yuuri set her down beside Ashley at the edge of the bed. The two women, each in a unique pure white dress, sat side by side, radiating a delicate yet powerful beauty far beyond their usual charm.
”Ah, the princess looks adorable too♡ And Yuuri… are you really going to enjoy us right here?” Suzuri teased.
”What!? No way, Yuuri! We just held back, and now here…?” Marina cried.
”No, not doing it? Just touch a little.”
He had no plan to force anyone down. But letting these tempting lovers go untouched felt like a waste. He meant only to admire them and check Suzuri’s work, yet the effort to hold himself back turned his words into clumsy fragments.
”Eek, your eyes look scary!? You’re not planning to stop at touching, right!? Ashley, say something! He’ll listen to you!” Marina pleaded.
”Ah♡ Yuuri’s toned body can’t hide under that neat tuxedo♡ So strong… so manly♡” Ashley praised.
Her open admiration from the woman he loved most warmed his chest. The formal suit Suzuri dressed him in made him feel sharper, more alert. He leaned forward to wrap his beloved pair in a light hug—and suddenly his strength vanished from the waist down. His legs tangled, and he collapsed over them both.
”Kyaa! I knew you were going to pounce!” Marina shrieked.
”Oh♡ No, Yuuri♡ As the princess says, hold back for now—”
His face buried in Ashley’s soft chest, the workshop’s force pinned him as he pushed her back. He couldn’t move. He struggled atop the plush warmth but not a finger twitched. He couldn’t even reply to Marina’s worried calls. Suzuri bounced up to peer at his face, and he managed only a reassuring smile. No pain—just a familiar overload, like the strain when creating the shiromuku.
His mind faded. Ashley’s gentle hand stroked his head as he sank into deep, dark sleep.
* * *
He felt the stroking first. Consciousness rose slowly. Soft thighs pillowed his head; he lay somewhere cushioned yet open. No bed springs, no wall echoes, no faint hum of air—only vast openness, like high under the sky. Curiosity won, and he opened his eyes.
”Hey, sleepyhead. Finally awake,” a woman’s voice said.
Unfamiliar, yet not. He’d heard it once before, and recent chats with its owner made recall instant. She smiled down, her narrowed eyes startling his heart with their otherworldly gleam. Irises shifted through every color of the rainbow—a clear mark of something beyond human. Silver hair gradiated to rainbow tips framed a face too perfect to be natural. Pale skin showed through thin fabric, her flawless form evoking awe like a masterpiece sculpture.
”—Shelm.”
”Hehe. As you thought in your head, add the honorific, okay, Yuuri-kun?”
Her presence demanded he kneel. No wonder she needed a shrine maiden’s body as a yorishiro (vessel) to visit the lower world.
”Did you knock me out to bring me here?”
”Haha, opposite, opposite. The Familial Workshop (skill space) overloaded your mind—processing couldn’t keep up. Perfect timing, so I called you here to talk. Your body is still sleeping safe in the workshop. Relax.”
She said it lightly, but what was this body then? Sitting up, he saw the expected endless starry horizon over a mirror-like surface—the mysterious space where he’d first met Shelm after reincarnation. Ornate loungers faced each other with a low table between, tea set for two. He’d been lap-pillowed on her side.
”You collapsed this time, but while sleeping, the workshop optimizes your body. Next skill creation will feel much lighter.”
He’d suspected it: the skills changed not just Ashley and the others as servants, but him too. This creation proved it—such powerful tools couldn’t attach to one mere human. Yet attaching human awareness to vast, complex skills? That might work. He wouldn’t resent his own changes while making them servants. But was he still human, or skill? Which was the core now?
”Bit late to ask, but why do all this? We were supposed to die, and you saved us—true. But the method feels too roundabout. Like another goal, and saving us is just a side bonus, a tip… that’s how it seems.”
A god gained nothing from one human life. Helping meant part of some larger plan.
”Hehe, sharp instinct, Yuuri-kun.”
She slid closer into the space his rising left, wrapping porcelain arms around him. Then she declared to the void:
”Of course, to grant our wishes!”
Our. He didn’t grasp what Shelm meant, but before asking, he noticed. The low table held tea for two—but not for Shelm and a lover. One set sat on the opposite lounger’s side.
