Even if there were a reason for it, the fact remained that I had enjoyed the most intimate parts of Sakurako-san to my heart’s content.
I shouted my apology while mid-air, committing to a full-power jumping dogeza¹.
”No, I mean, I can at least tell you were trying to help me, Kanade… I think it’s a bizarre skill, but if that’s just how it is, there’s not much we can do about it,” said Sakurako.
Perhaps the spot where my fingers had been just a moment ago felt restless, as Sakurako fidgeted and swayed her lower abdomen while she spoke.
”I’m glad you see it that way… See, that was a (Healing-Type Pressure Point)². It’s a recovery skill that can heal even terminal, heavy injuries… but the activation method is, well, as specialized as what you just experienced…” Kanade explained.
”I see! Oh, s-so that’s why, at night…”
”…At night?”
”Ah—n-nothing! It’s nothing at all! The fact that Kanade touched me there… since it was for the skill, I don’t have a problem with it! Come on, look up! If my savior keeps bowing like that, I’m the one who’s gonna feel awkward!” Sakurako shouted.
I didn’t quite catch why the word “night” had suddenly entered the conversation, but for now, I was just relieved that Sakurako-san had forgiven my “healing” act.
I didn’t fully understand her reasoning, but as expected, what Mana says is always right.
I stood up and faced Sakurako-san once more.
”S-So, anyway… let me start by explaining the situation with the Floor Twenty Boss!” Sakurako suggested.
”Right, let’s do that… For Sakurako-san to be pushed that far, it must have been incredibly powerful, right?”
”Yeah… The thing waiting there was shaped like a robot, roughly human-sized… but it was an orthodox Boss Monster, firing off physical techniques and magic skills one after another. Honestly, the reason I lost was simple. That thing was just a bit stronger than me,” Sakurako admitted.
That made sense.
Even if an opponent is only slightly stronger than you, facing them one-on-one makes victory a staggering challenge.
Sakurako-san surely had a trump card or two for high-tier enemies, but those are often neutralized by a superior foe.
The near-death state I found her in was likely the result of two powers clashing until one finally buckled.
”That’s why I’m worried it’ll be a real grind to take it down… Its strength is just a hair above mine. Now, if you guys and I team up, we could probably win. But if we cooperate, my own power will be cut in half. That would make me useless in the Boss fight, meaning it would essentially just be Kanade’s group fighting alone. Even with the advantage of numbers and Kanade’s irregular skills, I’m afraid it might be too much for just you guys to handle…” Sakurako noted.
”I see…”
Sakurako-san is individually stronger than all of us put together.
If she couldn’t win, the odds of us winning seemed bleak at best.
While Mana has her Dungeon Energy Mastery³ cheat, there’s no guarantee the situation would even allow her to trigger it.
My own (Pressure Point)⁴ skills are notoriously difficult to land on enemies that don’t let you get close.
While Sakurako-san and I were agonizing over a solution… for some reason, the other girls in my party were just lounging around, seemingly without a care in the world regarding the Boss.
”Mana, why are you guys so relaxed? Have we already decided to give up on this run?” Kanade asked.
”Oh, no, not at all… We’ve already reached our conclusion, but I figured there might be other answers out there. I wanted to let Kanade-kun and Sakurako-san rack your brains until the very end before we shared our thoughts…” Mana replied.
”Yeah… this is the kind of thing you need to think through seriously before you can really accept the outcome…”
”I’m with them~ Plus, as far as we’re concerned, we don’t have any issues with Sakurako-san at all~”
”Mm-hmm! Minami thinks it would be great if Sakurako-chi joined the party too!”
They were saying things I couldn’t quite wrap my head around.
Thinking that was just how they were, Sakurako-san and I went back to stressing over the Boss battle… but in the end, we couldn’t come up with a single thing.
”Mana, I give up… Can you tell us the answer?”
”Fufu, very well… Sakurako-san, Kanade-kun… the answer is…”
The words that then flowed from Mana’s lovely lips were absolutely outrageous.
