Volume 2 Chapter 4

”──(Pressure Point Gun)!”
I’d officially given up on trying to take down a High Goblin through standard combat.
Instead, I triggered my Phase Two skill: the (Pressure Point Gun).
As the skill surged to life, a matte-black, revolver-style handgun materialized in my grip, its cylinder pre-loaded with five rounds.
While I could technically use the (Pressure Point Gun) to trigger an (Adversarial Pressure Point) from a distance, that wasn’t why I’d summoned it today.
”And now… (Pressure Point Eye)!!! Dead center of the forehead, lower right arm, upper left thigh… the left n**ple, and right in the middle of the pubic bone!”
With (Pressure Point Eye) active, the specific strike zones unique to this weapon flared into my vision.
I kept my breathing steady, tracking those glowing markers while weaving through the High Goblin’s frantic swings.
The moment its guard slipped, I hammered the trigger.
The bullet shrieked from the barrel, a high-velocity streak of light that slammed directly into the High Goblin’s upper left thigh.
It tore clean through the muscle.
These rounds didn’t carry much physical weight, but the effect was immediate.
The second the bullet pierced the “Agility Point,” the creature’s leg buckled, and its speed cratered.
(Taking out the Agility Point in the leg makes life so much easier…)
With the Goblin’s movement neutered, dodging became effortless.
I was practically dancing around it, waiting for my next opening.
The High Goblin seemed to realize it couldn’t catch me anymore, as it pivoted its strategy toward long-range (Earth Needle) spam.
I drifted through the rising stone spikes, closing the gap.
”I’ll be taking that skill attack, too! Aiming for the Magic Point in the lower abdomen… eat this!!”
I squeezed the trigger the instant I cleared the next stone spike.
The round buried itself exactly where I’d aimed.
Even though it didn’t deal “damage” in the traditional sense, the Goblin felt it.
”Gu… gugiii!!”
The High Goblin’s subsequent (Earth Needle) was pathetic—shrunken, brittle, and moving at a snail’s pace.
Striking the “Magic Point” near the pubic bone drastically nerfs an enemy’s skill potency.
Between its speed and its magic, the Goblin was basically a walking target now.
”Next, the head… damn! Missed!”
I’d been gunning for the “Thought Point” to scramble its cognitive functions, but the High Goblin twisted its neck at the last second.
Targets on the head and arms are a nightmare; since they move independently of the torso, they’re the hardest marks to hit.
Still, I kept up the pressure, effortlessly sliding past the sluggish swings of its High Goblin Sword while I hunted for the next opening.
”Yes! Got the arm!”
With the “Attack Point” in its arm neutralized, the High Goblin’s physical strength plummeted.
The sword it brandished now looked like a heavy, awkward hunk of iron, its swings losing all their lethality.
”Alright, last one: the Defense Point in the chest! …Gah, I pulled it!”
I’d really psyched myself up for that one, but the bullet landed just off-center.
The chest houses the “Defense Point”—hitting it would have shredded the Goblin’s damage resistance, which would’ve been perfect for the finisher.
(Oh well, no use crying over spilled lead.)
”Alright! (Pressure Point Gun) dismiss!!”
”GUGYAAAAAAAAA!!”
The moment the empty (Pressure Point Gun) vanished, the High Goblin let out a blood-curdling shriek.
It collapsed, thrashing and rolling across the dirt in agony.
This was the “Bonus Damage” payout from the three hits I’d landed.
The math is simple: one hit deals 10% HP, two hits jump to 25%, three hits deal 45%, four hits hit 70%, and all five rounds trigger an instant 100% kill.
It’s a flashy, top-tier skill that can one-shot almost any monster if you’re a perfect shot.
Since I’d missed twice, the Goblin was currently being hit by a massive 50% chunk of its total health all at once.
The (Pressure Point Gun) sounds like a total cheat code, sure, but there’s a catch.
(I only get five shots a day. It’s great for a boss fight like this, but I really have to be careful about when I pull it out…)
While I was busy complaining to myself, the High Goblin managed to crawl back to its feet.
It glared at me, panting heavily, with roughly half its HP remaining.
At this point, I probably could have finished it off with my bare hands, but given my base attack power versus its innate defense, it would have been a long, boring slog.
”Well, it feels like a waste, but let’s get this over with.”
I reached for the blade at my hip—one I hadn’t drawn once until now: the [Lizard Fang Sword].
This thing was a rare drop from a Phase Three dungeon.
If I sold it in mint condition, I’d be looking at over ten million.
Its cutting power was insane, but as a Phase Three material, it had a massive drawback: in the low-density “Dungeon Energy” of a Phase Two floor, the blade’s durability would degrade at an accelerated rate.
Using it here was basically the equivalent of lighting ten million on fire.
”But hey, I did brag to the lady at the guild that I’d have this place cleared in a few hours… and besides, with what I’m pulling in lately, ten million is basically pocket change.”
Despite the “expensive” sting, I laid into the High Goblin with the [Lizard Fang Sword].
I silently prayed for a high-quality drop to make up the difference as the blade hummed.
True to its pedigree, it only took five clean slashes before the High Goblin dissolved into a cloud of black smoke.

Summary:
The protagonist abandons standard melee combat against a High Goblin in favor of a tactical ‘Pressure Point Gun’ skill. By striking specific nodes, he weakens the goblin’s agility, magic, and attack stats. Finally, he finishes the battle using an expensive, high-tier sword that is inefficient for the current dungeon level.
—
Trivia:
- The Pressure Point Gun has a limited capacity of 5 shots per day.
- Bonus damage from the gun scales exponentially with the number of hits landed.
- Phase Three items lose durability rapidly in Phase Two dungeons due to low Dungeon Energy.
- The protagonist had bragged to a guild receptionist about his clearing speed.
- The ‘Defense Point’ was the only debuff the protagonist failed to land
—
Character Insight:
The protagonist shows a blend of tactical pragmatism and cocky extravagance; he treats 10 million currency as ‘pocket change’ but still feels a slight ‘sting’ at using an inefficient tool.
—
Lore And Worldbuilding Context:
The mechanic of ‘Phase’ specific equipment highlights a tiered progression system where gear from higher-level areas is inhibited in lower-level ones.
