Chapter 110 The Kiss to the Dwarf Princess and the Rainbow in the Mist
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
We’d spent three days exploring the Elven Forest and secured the rare Magic Materials—the moonlight grass. But I hadn’t been looking around since then.
Walking through the forest all night every night would only build up fatigue, and when it really mattered, that would be dangerous. I’d decided to space out the material gathering, taking it slow with rest days in between.
And I’d rested well enough. After school today, I planned to head back to the Elven Forest.
After breakfast, I took a walk through the garden to check on the girls. The neatly trimmed lawn sparkled with morning dew.
Birdsong filled the air—a truly refreshing morning.
As I walked, I heard a cheerful hammering sound in the distance, along with the dry rasp of wood being carved. The dwarven girls’ workspace came into view: they were building a small hut that would serve as their forge.
The fresh scent of new lumber mixed with the smell of freshly turned earth. The foundation was already complete, and they were now working on the framework. At the same time, they were cutting and drilling the piles of lumber they’d brought in, steadily preparing the pillars and beams they’d assemble later.
Just five of them, efficiently dividing this much work, steadily advancing the construction. Watching them, I couldn’t help but admire their skill.
I’d also given them permission to build a small residence adjacent to the forge where they could live. My plan was for them to stay here, working at their craft, living without constraint.
With skilled artisans like these, I was sure they’d build a wonderful hut that blended perfectly with the carefully maintained beauty of my garden.
”—Xenos-sama, good morning!”
As I watched them work, Eil Eisen fleet—the dwarf princess—noticed me and came over with a cheerful greeting. Sweat beaded her forehead, but her expression was lively and full of energy.
”Ah, good morning. I’ve placed all the orders for what you need. I’ve told the servants to bring everything here as it arrives.”
”Yes! Thank you so much! I promise—I’ll forge the finest sword you’ve ever seen!”
That bright, hopeful smile—clear as a cloudless sky.
I was caught off guard, struck straight through the heart.
Before I knew it, I had grabbed her small shoulders and pressed my lips to hers.
(…Crap. What am I doing?)
But it was already done. Too late for regrets now.
When I gently pulled back and looked at Eil—her face was red as an apple, her large eyes wide as saucers. Her small shoulders twitched.
”…Sorry. You were so lovely, Eil, I couldn’t help myself. I hope I didn’t make you uncomfortable.”
”N-no! Th-this is also… um, one of the… ‘conditions’ for lending me your power…?”
That wasn’t it at all.
But if she was going to interpret it that way, should I just go along with it? If I’m lending you my power, you owe me your body…
No. Pressuring this innocent girl would feel wrong somehow.
If she truly hated it, I’d stop. Having her forge weapons for me was enough.
To decide, I needed to know how she really felt.
”…If you really don’t want this, tell me. I won’t force you.”
She lowered her eyes shyly, fidgeting, and answered:
”…I-it’s not that I don’t want to. It’s just… um… I was really, really embarrassed.”
This seemed promising. But given her position, even if she actually disliked it, she’d find it hard to say no. Going forward, I’d watch her reactions and close the distance carefully.
”Then, I’ll be heading out now.”
”Y-yes! Have a safe trip, Xenos-sama!”
Eil waved her small hand vigorously, seeing me off. It didn’t seem like she truly resented me.
As I walked back toward the mansion, I heard excited squeals from behind me. The four dwarf attendants, who’d apparently been secretly watching the kiss, had confirmed the facts with their princess and were now squealing and chattering up a storm.
Apparently, even dwarven girls loved a good romance.
I went to school, stopped by the theater on the way back, and then teleported to the Elven Forest.
The five of us—teleporting in—pushed northeast from where we’d left off last time. Right after the teleport, the sky still had a faint red tinge from the sunset, but as we walked, deep darkness descended on the forest in what felt like moments.
As we pressed deeper, a thick milky-white mist rolled in. Visibility dropped to just a few meters ahead. Damp cold clung to my skin.
This was our destination.
There were special Magic Materials here that could only be harvested in this permanently fog-shrouded location. We huddled close to avoid getting separated, advancing cautiously as a group.
Sylphie drew the beautiful bow slung across her back, her clear blue eyes piercing the mist—into a white darkness where ordinary eyes would see nothing.
Then it happened.
The elf beside me, bow at the ready, suddenly loosed an arrow into empty space.
A sharp whistle cut the air.
Thud.
From deep in the mist came a heavy, fleshy sound—something large collapsing onto the ground.
A gust of wind parted the mist for a moment—
There lay a massive boar-like beast, an arrow embedded perfectly between its eyes.
I hadn’t noticed a thing. But apparently it had been charging toward us at high speed.
(…I didn’t even sense it coming.)
Elves had superior senses—not just vision, but hearing beyond human comprehension. I was so grateful Sylphie was with us. Without her, someone would have been badly hurt.
”…You noticed that. Impressive. —You saved us, Sylphie.”
I offered genuine praise, reaching out to gently stroke her long, pointed ears.
”I-it was nothing! It’s not like… it was a big deal…!”
Sylphie shook her head, modestly deflecting, her beautiful ponytail of pale green hair swaying. To me, it looked like a happy wagging tail.
”B-besides! Let’s bring this catch back to the village, Xenos-sama! Could you teleport it for us?”
She approached the fallen beast—and gasped.
”Th-this is…!”
Right beside the carcass, part of a rocky outcropping was slowly flickering with seven colors, as if glowing from within. In the dark forest, that spot alone seemed like a world apart, radiating an otherworldly brilliance.
Rainbow Moss.
Apparently, this was an extremely rare Magic Material ideal for creating powerful magical barriers.
I carefully scraped the beautiful moss off with a knife and placed it in a special container I’d prepared.
After delivering the beast to the elven village:
”You really came through today, Sylphie.”
I praised her accomplishments once more—
And pulled her slender body close, holding her in gratitude.

Summary:
Xenos observes the dwarven artisans at work and impulsively kisses Princess Eil, who interprets it as a ‘condition’ for his support. He then teleports to the Elven Forest with his party to gather rare materials, where Sylphie’s keen senses detect and neutralize a charging beast before they discover the rainbow-colored moss. The chapter closes with Xenos embracing Sylphie in gratitude, while his true feelings remain masked behind his calculated villain persona.
