Chapter 138 Negotiating with the Villainess
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
I teleported straight into Violetta’s room at the Azalea Ducal Estate.
The space was decorated with a girl’s taste – ornate yet tasteful furnishings, a faintly sweet perfume hanging in the air.
The room’s mistress was just about to inflict an unjust punishment on her servants – servants she believed had failed to carry out her orders.
My subordinate Ashraf had already vanished from the room. I’d told him beforehand that he was only needed for the teleportation, and could disappear as soon as his job was done.
(Touching his mana directly might drive a few people in this room insane, after all.)
I quietly dispelled my Presence-Concealing Magic from within the room’s deep shadows, and approached her unguarded back – slowly, soundlessly.
A wide, lavish room. The soft glow of magic lamps illuminated the array of fine furnishings.
Violetta had absolutely no idea I was approaching from behind. But the pitiful servants lined up before her like criminals could see me clearly. Several of them widened their eyes at my sudden appearance – they’d noticed.
At the perfect moment when Violetta grew suspicious of her servants’ changed expressions –
I gently wrapped my arms around her slender shoulders from behind, and spoke into her ear.
”Now, hold on, Violetta. They’ve done nothing wrong,” I said.
”Eep!! Huh? Wh-what?! Y-you – ! H-how did you even get in here?!” she gasped.
She was completely thrown by the sudden intruder. Not that I blamed her.
”However I did it. You’re the one who invited me here. Otherwise, there’s no way I’d be able to walk into the room of the Azalea Ducal House’s daughter like this. After sending me such a passionate love letter, don’t tell me you’ve suddenly forgotten,” I continued smoothly.
Of course, that was a complete lie. But the servants watching with bated breath had no way of knowing the truth. It gave them a plausible excuse for why I was standing here now.
”Wh-what are you saying – ! Mmph! Mmph!!” Violetta protested.
I silenced her by pressing my lips against hers – cutting off her denial before it could form.
An audacious, unforgivable act.
She raised her riding crop to strike me. But I subdued her arm as easily as if I were calming a child’s hand. With a little pressure, she dropped the crop.
It clattered against the floor with a dry ring.
Violetta struggled desperately to break free, but I contained every feeble movement with precision, never letting go.
Our lips tangled together, again and again.
The servants lined up in a row watched the scandalously intimate display, frozen in disbelief.
At first, Violetta seemed mortified at having her servants witness such a humiliating scene. But as the kiss stretched on, breathless and unrelenting, all of that extra composure drained from her mind.
”Mmph! Mmph!! …Pwah! …Hahh… hahh♡” she moaned.
When I finally released her lips, her beautiful face was flushed crimson with shame and fury. She panted heavily, glaring at me with tear-bright eyes full of resentment.
”…What exactly do you think you’re doing? You insolent wretch!!” she finally spat.
”Discipline. Listen, Violetta. Your servants followed your orders exactly – they put a lethal dose of poison into the cup you specified. And I, who drank it, was in considerable pain. So I came here to give you a little payback – and to correct your hopeless habit of running to murder the moment jealousy gets the better of you. No more attempts on the Empire’s princess,” I replied.
”Th-that instant-acting poison… and you’re still standing…” she murmured, dumbfounded.
”Yeah. Too bad for you – I’ve got a constitution that makes poison useless on me,” I said.
Of course, that was also a complete lie. But she had no way of verifying it right now.
”Wh-why…! Why would you go that far to protect that insufferable little wench…!” Violetta demanded.
”If she gets killed in this country, the Empire will send its full military force against us. And the ones who’ll be on the front lines? That’s us – the Grimlock. We have no interest in a full-scale war,” I explained.
”Th-then…! I’ll give up on killing her! But instead, you’ll help me drive that eyesore out of this country! Surely that’s acceptable!?” Violetta countered.
As expected of a high-ranking noble, the daughter of the Azalea Ducal House. She never let a setback go to waste.
(Trying to make me her pawn in this situation…)
Unfortunately for her, she picked the wrong opponent.
”No. I’ll say it one more time. Don’t lay another finger on Elisabeth. That’s an order. If you disobey… you’ll face the consequences. Understood? From now on, you follow my instructions,” I said.
”How utterly selfish…! Ugh…! F-fine! I understand! I’ll do as you say! Now let go of me already!” Violetta shouted.
I was still holding her trembling body firmly, to prevent her from doing anything reckless. From the outside, it might have looked like two lovers locked in a passionate embrace.
But the reality was predator and prey.
The servants watched every detail of our scene. They saw their usually arrogant mistress humiliated like a spoiled brat being scolded for misbehaving.
That must have been what shamed her the most. Violetta’s face was scarlet with embarrassment.
The servants weren’t just watching silently, either. A few of them moved to help their mistress. But each time, I said just one word – “Don’t move” – and the air froze, their movements completely halted.
”…I can’t trust your word that easily,” I said.
After all, this Violetta had been genuinely trying to kill Elisabeth. Given her personality, she wasn’t about to give up so easily.
A verbal promise, made in the heat of the moment, meant nothing. I couldn’t accept it without proof.
To convince her – to truly reform her – I’d have to keep having these conversations with her, patiently, again and again.
In front of the servants, I continued to speak of love with their mistress.

Summary:
The protagonist teleports into Violetta’s room mid-punishment, silences her with a kiss in front of her servants, and delivers an ultimatum regarding Elisabeth’s safety. Trivia:
The protagonist claims poison immunity, but this is a lie – he only survived due to prior preparation or other means.
Violetta ordered her servants to poison the protagonist’s drink, which they dutifully did.
Ashraf was used solely for teleportation and dismissed immediately to prevent mana exposure causing madness.
Elisabeth is an Empire princess whose death would trigger full-scale war – the Pro-War Faction wants controlled skirmishes, not all-out conflict.
The protagonist is from the Grimlock family, placing him on the front lines if war breaks out.
Violetta’s humiliation is compounded by the servants witnessing her submission – she is usually their arrogant master.
The forced kiss is framed as “discipline” and “correction” rather than romance, establishing the protagonist’s dominant position.
Violetta’s offer to spare Elisabeth in exchange for help banishing her is rejected immediately – the protagonist demands total obedience.
The servants attempted to intervene but were frozen by the protagonist’s single command, demonstrating his control over the scene.
The chapter title references “negotiation,” but the protagonist explicitly states he is not negotiating – only disciplining.

• Grimlock – Xenos’s family name.
• Elisabeth – Princess of the enemy Adrastea Empire, Prince Liam’s fiancée, and the game’s main heroine. While Xenos exchanges opinions with her, her heart has shifted from Liam to the protagonist, showing visible relief at his arrival while unconsciously avoiding relying on her fiancé.
