Ms. Flare was savoring the first bite, but with a dazed voice, she quickly finished it.
”I’m so glad to be human and eat something this delicious!”
She seemed to really like it, so I handed her another piece, and she immediately devoured it.
It was like feeding a cute animal.
”Unyummmm!”
Mr. Munin let out a strange cry, looking like he choked from eating too fast.
Still, he snatched another piece and gobbled it down.
”I can’t believe it! Are the nobles eating something this tasty every day? That’s so unfair!”
Huh?
What is this person suddenly talking about?
”Oh, don’t mind him. He had a phase where he was obsessed with revolution, and it seems to come back sometimes, but he can’t do anything about it.”
Now that I think about it, I heard the villagers talking about that too.
The idea of revolution probably came from an old summoned hero.
What a troublesome guy he was.
”Do you think it’s okay for nobles to hog something this delicious all to themselves?”
It seems he admitted that the chicken ham is tasty.
Then I have no use for you anymore.
”I’m not a noble, and I made this myself. It’s delicious, so I’m sharing it with everyone in the village. What’s the problem?”
”Ughhh!”
Mr. Munin was groaning for a while, but suddenly grabbed my hand with both of his.
”I see, you are my comrade! Then I will enjoy this without holding back!”
I really don’t understand this person.
No matter how skilled a craftsman he is, he wouldn’t survive in the capital like this.
Without Ms. Flare, he probably couldn’t communicate with others at all.
Well, still, having a sexy childhood friend as a wife might make him the ultimate lucky guy.
”Wow, I didn’t know chicken ham could be this delicious without salt!”
Ms. Flare was genuinely impressed.
Mr. Munin was mumbling something, but I’ll just ignore it.
”But it’s a problem, especially in summer when there’s a water shortage. We all need to use it carefully, or we’ll run out of drinking water.”
I brought some salted food today, just in case.
It won’t last long, so please try to eat it all today if you can.
When I handed over the wrapped meat, Ms. Flare jumped up happily.
”As expected of Sir Hero! You’re amazing! Hug me!!”
Suddenly, Ms. Flare gave me a light hug.
I know it’s a joke, but because the soft, wonderful feel is so nice, my brain freezes for a moment.
”Ah! You, this is a joke my wife often plays! Don’t get the wrong idea!”
Mr. Munin hurriedly steps in between us.
”It’s okay, I understand.”
Jokes like that are usually misunderstood.
”You don’t get it? You need to be respected. I’ll take off that leather armor you’re wearing.”
It feels like the conversation isn’t going well.
I’m not the bad guy, Mr. Munin’s crazy throws are all her fault.
”No, I need it. I can’t go on adventures without it.”
”Come get it first thing tomorrow morning. I’ll show you how much of a genius craftsman I am.”
”To translate, he’s asking to repair the leather armor as a thank you for the chicken ham, Sir Hero. Honestly, I hope he’s straightforward.”
Unable to understand again, I freeze up, but Ms. Flare comes to my aid.
Ah, maybe I understand what he’s saying now.
That’s a relief.
It’s funny how I, with Mind Communication skill, need an interpreter.
”Still, I’m sorry about all this. I want to thank you with something too.”
She’s so close, so close, Ms. Flare.
Warm breath touches my face.
It smells sweet, like flowers.
Mr. Munin is watching, you know, hey?
”…No, it’s okay. We help each other out in times of trouble.”
Flustered, I ran away.
But I was quickly cornered again.
”Whenever you can’t do something alone, just ask me. Your big sister will comfort you.”
Ms. Flare gives me another light hug.
It sounds meaningful, but she wouldn’t normally make such a move in front of her husband.
Looks like I was teased again.
The leather armor that came back the next morning had been magically modified far beyond normal maintenance.
It’s my first time seeing an item with a +2 enhancement.
There’s no doubt that Mr. Munin is a genius craftsman.
