Volume 6 Chapter 6 Isekai Ninja Scrolls: Ambition Edition
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
Miss Floria has been really busy lately. In the royal capital, there’s been a lot of trouble because of the new Heroes.
Most of the problems are small crimes like stealing from shops or taking food. These things aren’t usually seen as serious crimes here. But the real issue is that the Heroes quickly get violent when things go wrong.
The Heroes got super strong powers when they were summoned, so when they start causing trouble, even the town guards can’t stop them.
Some people are using this to do even more bad things, knowing the Heroes will make a mess.
Just a few days ago, a group of Heroes attacked a slave trader, causing a big fight with lots of injuries.
Hmm, it’s strange they only attacked slave traders. Maybe they’re pretending to be on Justice’s side.
I spent all night listening to Miss Floria complain. Even strong women need nights to let out their feelings while drinking.
* * *
My cousin worked at a big company, but on weekends, she’d come to our house to talk to my mom and others about her problems.
It seems like people who are good at their jobs always get more work. Because they’re skilled, they end up doing even the hard tasks, and it just keeps piling up.
Since she was so good at her job, she couldn’t show weakness to her rivals, and she couldn’t complain at home because her family expected so much from her.
I think it’s tough because she tries to act strong, but it’s great to see her working hard toward her goals, even if it’s hard.
My cousin was beautiful, cool, and the older sister I looked up to.
The problem is with the bosses who take advantage of their workers’ hard work, even though she got paid well.
Since I’ve never worked, I couldn’t say much about grown-up problems.
Mom just drank with her, listened, and nodded. Maybe that was enough. My cousin left looking much happier.
So now, I also tried to be like my mom and listen carefully to Miss Floria. I just sat quietly and let her talk.
She’s much smarter than me, so she doesn’t need my advice. She figures things out on her own.
Sometimes, just saying things out loud helps her feel better.
I don’t have to do anything; just being there and caring is enough. I think I’m helpful like a pet or a stuffed animal.
When she finished talking, she looked relieved and leaned on me, falling asleep.
She looks so cute sleeping. I gently pat her head so she stays asleep.
The Heroes causing small problems are just foolish, but the real issue is the people hiding behind them in this world.
I wonder what they’re trying to do by making things so chaotic?
In strategy games about the Sengoku era, it’s common to weaken the enemy’s security to make them easier to attack.
It’s cheaper than building up your own army. If you attack when they’re in chaos, you can win easily.
Fixing the mess after taking over is hard, but it’s a good tactic when there are many leaders involved.
Could someone be doing this to us right now? It’s strange to think real life could be like a game.
Of course, there’s no proof yet. For now, all we know is that Miss Floria and Mr. Raoh are busier than usual.
Maybe I’m just connecting things because I know about the trouble in Duke Mineley’s area.
Thinking too much is risky. Honestly, something feels wrong; there shouldn’t be any war at all.
If we follow Agito, we might find out what those strange people are up to.
I heard Mr. Kondou was a police officer, so he’s good at investigating crimes. I’ll ask him about it next time we meet.

”Good morning, Sir Saburou. Last night, I, uh, showed you something embarrassing… Did you lose faith in me?”
”Did you sleep well? Miss Floria relying on me made me happy. I found you very adorable.”
She said she has been tired lately, but she slept well for over 5 hours with my arm as a pillow.
Miss Floria is a little taller than me, but her sleeping face looks like a little girl’s, and it made me feel protective.
”Ah, Saburou, you’re such a good kid. Hug your big sister tightly.”
Miss Floria let it all out. Well, sometimes you need to release stress like that.
After goofing around for a while, she straightened up and went to work with determination. A cool big sister is nice too.
* * *
’Once upon a time, there was a weapons seller who sold swords and shields in a faraway land.’
The fountain pen I bought from a shop recommended by the Professor is handy, but it leaks a little ink. It’s supposed to be a copy of the Professor’s pen, but I’ll show it to Mr. Zenom and ask him to make a better one.
Even if you don’t ask, if you show it to your master, he’ll definitely get excited and make something amazing. The trick is to catch him when he’s free.
’The seller said, “This sword can break any shield.”‘
Huh? I know this story. Isn’t it about a contradiction? It’s an old tale from the state of Chu. I saw it in a language book.
But the version in this world has a different ending. If the sword wins, the shield gets better; if the shield wins, the sword gets stronger, and it just keeps going—it’s almost a lesson.
”Once you get to this level, I think you can enjoy popular novels sold in the royal capital without any problem.”
”That sounds fun.”
Among those popular novels, some are by Shea-Shea. It seems she secretly became a writer at some point.
The main character is apparently based on me. I feel a bit strange—I want to read it but also feel scared.
”By the way, I heard a rumor about a traveler who beat a bad Hero with a wooden stick.”
What’s a traveling hero? Considering the timing, it’s probably about Agito and me, right?
Weapons are just wooden sticks too.
”Making the bad hero the villain has been popular lately, so it seems like a good idea. If I make the ally of Justice a knight from the Totoana Empire, the publisher will print more copies.”
Shea-Shea’s eyes light up when she talks about novels. She’s been a reader since she was in Toyata Village and was always a bit odd. If you’re a writer, being a bit strange is probably okay; it’s just part of your personality, and it might be your calling.
It seems she’s become a professional writer, but her love for analyzing popular stories started back in the village.
Listening to her, it seems possible that Totoana is also spreading false information.
I wonder if a real war will happen.
The Totoana Empire seems to love secrets, and I don’t like them much.
They were behind the Alex incident and left the anti-monster alliance just because they wanted to.
But even if they’re against summoning heroes, it’s too soon to call them evil.
From a bigger view, the Hero Management Bureau, which summons people from Earth almost like kidnapping, is much worse.
”As for me, I won’t change my story’s theme of good heroes versus bad heroes just because it’s popular now.
Hero Serve is pure, strong, and alone, a true hero. The traveler with the wooden stick might be better as a helper.”
Hero Serve, huh? I think I might be based on him, but I’d be embarrassed to ask if I’m wrong.
Hmm, so he’s a hero.
Ms. Shirakaba is also a hero.
She’s a high-ranking knight, great at protecting others, and can even heal people.
Just having her around makes you feel safe.
The character that girls like, the prince on a white horse, is mostly about looks.
Her special gear is also really cool.
Even among rich people and royalty, many want to become heroes by getting stronger quickly.
There are probably real princes on white horses too.
If you want to be liked by girls, in any world, it’s probably first about how you look.
You don’t need to be rich, but you need enough strength to give the girl anything she wants.
You don’t need to be super strong, but you should be good enough to beat enemies with one punch.
It’s also common to know all the love poems from every time and place.
