After releasing those perverted fairies into the neighboring country, I evacuated the rescued children to the bandit settlement we had first taken down. I left the children’s care to Tonjiru-kun and the others. Currently, we were soaring through the sky above Alys Magic Academy on the back of the Five Elements Black Dragon, Rave.
”Man! I never thought I’d actually get to see Rave-mama again!” I said.
〖I am surprised as well,〗Rave replied. 〖But this, too, is fate. I shall help you.〗
”Ahaha, I don’t really get how ‘fate’ works, but thanks, Rave-mama!” I laughed.
Seriously, I was just out there raiding bandit hideouts and I happened to reunite with Rave-mama! Then she gave us a lift all the way to Alys Magic Academy. (Talk about a convenient plot device!)
”This is amazing! We’re on top of a huge dragon!” one of the girls squealed.
”…The Five Elements Black Dragon, Rave,” Alexia muttered. “Why is my useless mutt of a brother acquainted with such a big shot?”
”Alys Magic Academy… we’ve finally returned,” Karentisia noted.
The protagonist and the heroines were all clustered together, acting all lovey-dovey. (Good, good. With this, the day I can finally retire should be close.)
〖The thick mist is in the way,〗Rave observed. 〖I’ll blow it away. ‘Final Roar: The End’!〗
Rave unleashed a black, beam-like energy from her entire body, aiming it at a specific point within Alys Magic Academy. (Whoa! That looks just like that Gandora card’s attack from Yu-Gi-Oh! Actually, it’s exactly that.) The beam struck the area where the old well was located, causing a sinister-looking space to expand.
”The mist cleared,” I said. “And that well looks way too suspicious.”
〖I shall crush it… before the malice spreads,〗Rave declared. 〖’Sonic Speed: Learning’!〗
”Eh? We’re going alread—yeeaaaaagh!?” I screamed.
”””Kyaaaaa!!””” the girls shrieked.
As usual, Rave was a black dragon of immediate action. We dived straight into the mysterious well.

”What is this? The mist on the surface has cleared? What is all this commotion?” a voice demanded.
”No, the moment we heard that roar, a black dragon descended from the heavens!”
”The well’s barrier magic has been shattered too!!”
”A black dragon? One of the Five Elements!?”
A ghost draped in a transparent veil and a decaying human—likely a zombie—stared at us in a panic.
〖Seyfried boy,〗Rave said. 〖That ghost-like thing is the Witch of Echoes… one of those who wasn’t chosen for the Seven Calamities. She is the culprit behind this incident. Defeat her.〗
”The Seven Calamities? That ghost?” I replied. “Roger that!”
(So, the reason Layla-chan possesses been acting strange was because of this Seven Calamities-wannabe. It wasn’t just that, either. The mist and the teleportation jam were also her fault.) This was clearly why Rave had sought us out.
”…The Witch of Echoes. I-I’m scared…”
”For now, let’s go with ‘Evil Spirits Begone.’ It’s a pain to drag this out, so I’m going all in,” I declared. “Sacred Artifact Release: ‘Black Shine Sheep’—〖Cinder-Black Gale Demon〗!”
[Meeeeee!! Meeeeee!!]
”!? That is the Guardian of Darkness, the Black Shine Sheep?” the Witch gasped. “Why is it here…”
Slash! The spectral body of the Witch of Echoes was sliced apart. (The sharpness is top-tier. After all, the Sacred Artifact ‘Black Shine Sheep’ is specialized for anti-ghost combat.)
”Gyaaaaa!!” the Witch shrieked. Her scream echoed through the old well. (Poor thing.)
”Mistress!” the zombie cried.
”Your opponent is me!” Alexia shouted. “Prepare yourself! ‘Silver Segment’!”
”What? You Churidince brat? Gwaaaagh!!”
”Partner! You bastard! You brat! What do you think you’re—”
”I’m your opponent! ‘Hyperbola’!” Karentisia interrupted.
”Gurgle… hagh!!”
The hooded demon-men were being carved up by Alexia and Karentisia. (Those two have really lost their sense of mercy on this trip.)
〖Since Alice is gone, did you plot to take her place among the Seven Calamities, Witch of Echoes?〗Rave’s voice boomed. 〖Your thoughts are as shallow and black as ever. You shall atone for ravaging the Regain Kingdom under my protection. ‘Final Roar: The End’!〗
Rave began spamming her ultimate move. (Stop, Mama! If you do that, Alys Magic Academy will… wait, it’s not breaking?) I realized the inside of this well was likely a separate dimension from the outside world.
[…Meeeeee!! …Pitiable Witch of Echoes. You didn’t even realize you were being played.]
”You… ‘Black Shine Sheep’! You’ve teamed up with the black dragon!” the Witch spat. “Are you going to interfere with me again, just like in the old days?”
[If there is an existence that harms the Master I serve, I will eliminate it,] the spirit replied. [Especially since Shin Seyfried-sama is the one who will—]
They had been making a racket with all the bleating and screaming. (It’s so noisy… and the ‘Black Shine Sheep’ has started fighting on its own. I’m bored. Hm?) I noticed a highly suspicious altar. (And Layla-chan is sleeping there. Better help her… and let’s try breaking this. ‘Dark Nova’!)
I rescued Layla-chan from the altar that hadn’t been there a moment ago. Then, I used the ultimate secret art of dark magic to destroy it.
[Meeeeee!! Scatter!!]
”Urgh! The ‘Black Shine Sheep’ and the Black Dragon Rave… interfering with me again!” the Witch hissed. “You! What are you doing to that altar!?”
(Ah! Crap, she noticed me.)
”Eh? It wasn’t me,” I said. “I just rescued my personal maid, Layla-chan.”
”You rescued the sacrifice for the Altar of Substitution!?” the Witch screamed. “Do you realize what you’ve done? A karmic backlash will now strike me—”
[Then die with dignity. Meeeeee!! ‘Exquisite Execution’!] the spirit declared.
”You!! That is the Anti-Magic Scythe! Stop! Don’t swing that at me! Stop it!! Curse you, Seria… you’re useless to the very end!”
The Witch of Echoes glared at Seria one last time before vanishing. Seria, meanwhile, was so terrified she hadn’t said a word.
[The Echo… its annihilation is confirmed. Rave!! It is finished. We must escape immediately!] the sheep spirit called out.
〖Understood, Seyfried!〗Rave roared.
(Well, they certainly did a great job defeating that ghost witch. But man, that ‘Meeeeee!’ is loud. I have no clue what the Black Shine Sheep is saying.)
〖Let’s run, Seyfried boy,〗Rave said. 〖Hop on my back, and the girls as well. We are getting out.〗
”I can’t! I’ll give… wait, my body is floating on its own!”
”The zombies we were fighting are gone too,” one of the girls noted. “What’s happening?”
”…I think it’s because the Witch of Echoes vanished,” Seria whispered, still trembling. “This ruins well is going to collapse. And… in a distant land of the Magic Kingdom… that has been resurrected.”
Seria was still shaking like a leaf. (How strange. Even though the Witch was defeated.)
〖Farewell, Aklenoa,〗Rave muttered. 〖The Witch of Echoes we failed to save… rest in peace.〗
[Meeeeee… (Forever,)] the spirit echoed.
Rave and the Black Shine Sheep let out a final roar. (Was it my imagination, or did they actually look like they were mourning a tragic goodbye?)
