Chapter 89 The Villainous Heir’s Morning Chaos and Rooting Out Corruption
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
”Karentisia-chan. I’m so sorry about the sexual harassment when we were little. Please forgive me,” my ever-loyal Shin was tearfully pleading, his eyes all glossy, apologizing for his past foolish actions.
”Hmph! It’s just a fake apology, isn’t it? I know exactly what you’re up to. The moment I let my guard down, you’ll attack me—wait, wait! What are you hugging me for?” I snapped, but my voice wavered.
”I’m sorry, Karentisia-chan,” Shin choked out in a weak little voice, squeezing me tight with his tiny body.
My heart gave a little jump!
”W-well, I suppose if you insist that much, I’ll forgive your past behavior. Honestly, Shin, you didn’t have to beg; I would have forgiven you anyway,” I declared, trying to sound aloof.
”Ehehe, thank you so much, Karentisia. I love you,” he replied, his voice full of feigned sincerity.
Jump! Jump! Jump! A great, big jump!
”When you make a face like that… I… I think I’m falling for you…”
A heavy THUD echoed out, and then:
”Coo-coo! Coo-coo! Coo-coo!”
The maddened cuckoo clock in the inn room was blaring noisily, its cry like a harsh slap of reality.
”A dream… it was all just a dream? And this sunlight… is it morning already?” I felt the sunlight from the window pour into the room. I had apparently tumbled right out of my bed.
”How utterly careless… to have a dream like that. Am I perhaps too pent up? Or is my mind unstable from coming back here? No, that’s not right. I no longer have a claim to the throne, so it shouldn’t matter,” I reasoned internally, trying to push the blush away.
I glanced over at Shin, who was asleep in the next bed. Remembering that vulgar scene from the dream made my cheeks burn a little with shame.
”…Fwahh… I’ve been caught now, daayo… I’m going to be worked to death as an ecchi slave… Gugooooh!” cried a muffled voice.
”Nyaa Nyaa… My heart and body have been broken, nyaa… They made me do such shameful things, nyaafu~” wailed another.
”Swoosh, swoosh… Alexia… please don’t take my pants off… swoosh, swoosh,” mumbled a third.
My friends, Elmia the Dark Elf and Silvia the Cat-folk, were asleep, clutching Shin like a shared body pillow. They were stark naked.
”Oh, my? Everyone’s sleeping together, getting along so well and having dreams. How friendly… wait, what?” I paused, utterly bewildered.
Why were my two friends and Shin all naked and cozy in the same bed?
”…No more punishment, daayo—!”
”…Nyaa Nyaa, give back my clothes, nyaa—!”
”…You mustn’t attack me, Alexia—!”
”Tch! Light Magic: Light Explosion (Raito Ekusupurōjon²)!” I roared.
CRASH-BOOM!!
”…Fugyaa~! What the… what was that explosion, daayo?” Elmia cried out, jolting awake.
”Ginyaaaa!! We lost the fight, nyaa! You can’t keep chasing us, nyaa!” Silvia shrieked, scrambling for cover.
”Fwah~ Good morning, Karentisia-ch—nnngoh!?” Shin began, then cut off sharply.
”You will explain yourself right now, you worthless mutt (Shin). Why were you sleeping with two of my friends in the same bed after only one night?” I demanded. I knew my face must be twisted in fury. A boundless rage was bubbling up, and I could feel my pupils widening—a sure sign of my mounting irritation.
”Karentisia-chan, there are reasons for this that are deeper than the Edo lands’ ocean,” Shin tried to argue meekly.
”Is that so? You were doing nasty things last night, weren’t you? You’re the absolute worst, you mutt! Light Explosion!” I snapped, not giving him a chance to speak.
”N-no, that’s not it! There are reasons deeper than the Edo lands’ ocean that—GYAAAAH!” he screamed as the magic hit.
An undisciplined mutt needs proper training. That means I absolutely have to correct him with a good disciplinary magic punishment.

After spending about two hours purifying all those Wasted Fairies, and then continuing Elmia and Silvia’s training until sunrise, my exhausted body had finally given in to sleep. Then, Karentisia-chan’s merciless magic of anger came flying right at me. Woe is me.
”You say Elmia and Silvia attacked you last night? And you had to fight them, capturing them with Contract Magic… I see. I am truly sorry. I completely misunderstood and thought the mutt (Shin) had done something naughty to those cute girls,” Karentisia admitted, her anger slightly cooling.
”…No, no, that’s right on the money, Karentisia! This cute little boy here only sexually harassed us… W-wait, Ooohhh!?” Elmia protested, then broke off with a sudden cry.
”That’s right, nyaa. That’s right, nyaa. This little brat is a pervert disguised as a sweet face, and he subjected us to pleasure’s thing—NYAAAAAAH!!” Silvia shrieked, also cut short.
Oops. I can’t let my new companions (my best buddies) just blurt out whatever they want. This means their training is still incomplete. I’ll have to give them much, much more discipline while they guide us through the forest.
”…What? Why are the two of you clutching your stomachs and panting like that?” Karentisia asked, confused.
”Oh, I think it’s probably just because they’re so excited to see their best friend, Karentisia-chan, after all this time. They’re overwhelmed with happiness,” I explained smoothly.
”I-is that so! That makes me very happy. Thank you, both of you,” she said, beaming.
”…Tch. No, that’s not it, Karentisia… You can’t trust Shin, daayo. He’s a devil,” Elmia mumbled under her breath.
”That’s right, nyaa. Karentisia is just too pure as always, nyaa. Don’t let him trick you, nyaa~” Silvia muttered in agreement.
”…You two. I can’t understand what you’re muttering about. Shin, translate for me,” I instructed them.
”They’re deeply regretting attacking me and have vowed to serve us forever without question. Especially you, Karentisia-chan; they’ve sworn deep loyalty to you,” I translated, completely twisting their words.
”…No, that’s not it, daayo!” Elmia protested, weakly.
”That’s right, nyaa. That’s just too much tyranny, nyaa,” Silvia whined.
”I see. In that case, start explaining the strange phenomena happening in this entire region before that creepy merchant shows up,” I commanded.
Oh? So Karentisia-chan has noticed the true identity of that tool shop owner, has she?

After Karentisia-chan’s wake-up bombshell, the four of us decided to eat breakfast right there in the room.
Why aren’t we eating in the tavern? you ask? …Well, it’s because there are weird people in the tavern, so we can’t, that’s why. There are just… weird people.
So, I was serving everyone the emergency rations I keep stored away in my Storage Charm.
”You’re saying a ‘corruption’ is advancing throughout the entire Anclear Forest region?” Karentisia asked, her voice serious.
”…That’s right, daayo. So the Fairies and the Beastkin have all been cooperating on investigations and countermeasures, daayo,” Elmia confirmed.
”Nyaa. But we can’t figure out the cause at all, nyaa. Ah! But that pervert brat…” Silvia started.
”Hm? Did you say something, Silvia-chan?” I asked, smiling innocently.
”Gyoh-nyaa… Where Shin-no-Danna³ used the Sacred Artifact, the Princess’s Silver Blade, that area was somehow purified, nyaa. It’s a mystery, nyaa,” Silvia finished, swallowing her fear.
”I see. So that was happening after I left Shrihelged? I had no idea,” Karentisia mused.
”…Well, that’s understandable, daayo. The Fairy King was really noisy about not leaking any information to the outside world, so it couldn’t be helped, daayo,” Elmia explained.
”Unnya unnya. And that Fairy King has gone missing anyway, nyaa. So now the Anclear Forest is a lawless land without a master, nyaa,” Silvia lamented.

Summary:
Morning explodes with a magical blast as the villainous heir, Karentisia, wakes from a sexually-charged dream to find her loyal companion, Shin, sharing a bed—naked—with her two friends, Elmia and Silvia. In a comedic fury, Karentisia unleashes her Light Magic for an act of immediate discipline, believing Shin did something ‘naughty.’ Shin, master of manipulation, quickly twists the narrative, claiming the girls were attacking him and are now his subdued, loyal companions thanks to his contract magic and training. Amidst the chaos and farcical discipline, the group finally settles down to discuss the central mystery: a creeping corruption that is blighting the Anclear Forest, a region now made lawless by the disappearance of its Fairy King. The conversation hints that Shin’s Sacred Artifact may hold the key to the purification they need.

Character Insight:
Karentisia’s internal monologue reveals a deep emotional conflict: she is a tsundere who attempts to maintain her rigid, haughty persona, but she is secretly desperate for affection, as shown by her dream and the intensity of her subsequent anger and embarrassment. Her quickness to use powerful, explosive Light Magic shows she is masking her intense feelings of desire and betrayal with overwhelming aggression. Her vulnerability is masked by her discipline of Shin, solidifying their complex, master-servant dynamic where she is actually the one easily manipulated.
—
Behind the Scene:
The scene acts as a comedic, plot-hook-setting morning after. The aggressive Light Explosion establishes Karentisia’s violent style of discipline, while Shin’s effortless manipulation of Elmia and Silvia confirms his growing harem/subordinates using contract magic (framed as ‘training’). The key plot point of the Anclear Forest’s corruption and the missing Fairy King is introduced, setting the stage for the next adventure. The constant cut-offs of Elmia and Silvia trying to expose Shin add to the comedic tension and underscore Shin’s power over them, even in their exhausted state.

T/L:
1 [Senjutsu] is an Eastern-style mystical art, often translated as ‘hermit arts’ or ‘magic’ in a wuxia/xianxia sense, fitting the fantasy theme. ↩
2 [Raito Ekusupurōjon] is the katakana reading for Light Explosion. The author intentionally provides the English and the katakana reading. ↩
3 [Shin-no-Danna] literally translates to ‘Shin the Master’ or ‘Shin the Husband,’ which in this context, is a respectful (or mock-respectful) address by a subordinate or employee, highlighting Silvia’s newly forced position under Shin. ↩
Notes:
• Silvia – Another one of the ‘Hidden Eroins’ from the original game, her full background is not revealed in this chapter, but she is highly protective of ‘Karen’ (Karentisia) and recognizes the Protagonist’s Sacred Artifact. She is easily angered and speaks with an intense, aggressive cat dialect.
