After conquering the president, we both calmed down a bit and decided to talk in my room.
Even after everything that happened, the president switched to a calm attitude. It’s like she knows when to be serious and when to relax… she’s really unshaken.
”I’m sorry. I caused you trouble.”
The strange hostility from when we were fighting is gone. The president seems genuinely regretful. She’s like a different person compared to when she wouldn’t even respond to the conversation.
”What happened?”
”I’m not sure, but maybe… I was put under some kind of magic suggestion by someone. I think my guard was raised to the max.”
Guard raised to the max?
This is getting complicated again.
”Do you have any idea why?”
”Not long ago, I was attacked by Amasato and Kurokado. Their behavior was strange too. They talked less and only saw us as enemies. I had to kill them, but the problem came after that.”
When I met Amasato, he was reasonable. I wonder if something happened after that.
”After meeting Ms. Nijou and their group, my thoughts started to go extreme. You could say it became an obsession. I convinced myself that ‘if I don’t kill, I’ll be killed’ and started seeing everyone as an enemy except for my 2 friends.”
So, they had a new way of thinking forced on them? No… as the president said, her guard was maximized.
”I realized this when I got hit by Hyakudou’s Battle Axe.”
Now that I think about it, I lightly hit her after using ‘Eros Magic.’ She was already back to her senses by then. …This is bad.
”…I should have listened to the president more carefully. Sorry.”
”Given the situation, it couldn’t be helped. I didn’t feel that bad, so don’t worry about it.”
As I accepted it, my calm desire seemed to come back to life.
”If that story is true, maybe the other 2 can return to normal if I use my Battle Axe on them.”
Now that I figured out a solution, I took the president back to the battlefield. It looked like Mayuki and the others had also finished their fight, with Amaarai down and Yūhashi frozen.
”Did you kill them?”
”Not dead yet.”
”Just took away their consciousness.”
Mayuki and the Class Rep replied back. They are reliable teammates.
After using the Battle Axe on Amaarai and Yūhashi, I asked Hiiragi to check if the president was lying. It seemed there was no lie in what she told me, so this should settle things with the president and the others. Well, we only settled this one issue, and now there’s the matter with Nijou and the others. Problems just keep popping up.
”Class Rep, should we hit them a few times? I think the president would accept it now.”
”I already shocked Amaarai pretty hard, so I’m okay now. But for Kaede and Kokona… I want a sincere apology for my friends.”
The president nodded firmly. Even though she was affected by magic, it was still her mistake. She needs to take responsibility. That said, the president and the others aren’t the type to brush things under the rug, so I’m not too worried.
”Is that okay for you, Koushi?”
Mayuki asked. She looked like she was ready to hit them for me if needed.
”That’s fine. Actually, I feel like I went a bit overboard. I almost want to apologize to the president instead.”
When I said that, the Class Rep gave me a blank stare.
”You really did it, huh?”
”I’m gonna exercise my right to remain silent for the president’s sake.”
”But that’s basically like admitting it already, and I don’t even need to use ‘Analysis Magic’ for that.”
Even Kashiro was dumbfounded.
”Let’s drop this topic. I’m worried about those 2, and we should get back to the Base quickly to ask Mizui for healing magic.”
Hiiragi changes the subject, backing me up.
”Our group is getting bigger, so we should be more efficient in hunting down Demonkind. Just the daily supplies are costing us a lot.”
That was indeed a pressing issue. With the group growing rapidly, our point consumption was increasing at an accelerating rate.
Although I was curious about the Kajihei Group, Nijou Group, and the whereabouts of our missing classmates… it might be better to prioritize earning points for now.
Well, if the president and her group joined us, this problem would be easily solved. With more allies, hunting Dragons seems like a more realistic goal. With a full team, we’d have 19 members. It’s like a raid in a game.

In the spacious kitchen, the girls were busy cooking. With more people living together, they had to prepare larger quantities of food. They had assigned clear roles and were working efficiently, showing their domestic skills. Well, some of the girls seemed less inclined towards cooking.
Mayuki was unpredictable, so she was waiting with me in the living room. The princess was also lounging in the living room, saying, “Cooking is not something I do myself.” She’s like a real royal, so used to the high life.
”The delicious smell woke me up~.”
Touka came into the living room and was immediately hugged by the Class Rep. While accepting the president’s apology, her eyes were fixed on the kitchen. It’s sad how her attitude alone reveals so much about her personality.
”Hyakudou, do you know what kind of food they’re making?”
Touka came into the living room, not planning to join us in cooking like the rest of us.
”Fried young chicken, white fish soup, creamy gratin, and a mixed salad.”
”Wow, that sounds super fancy!? Is it like this all the time here?”
”At first, I was eating block-shaped mobile food. If we can’t beat the Demonkind, that’s what we’ll have to deal with, so be ready.”
I don’t mind that, but Touka was full of energy.
”I’ll take down a bunch of them for a tasty meal! By the way, there are so many drinks and seasonings! Can we drink as much as we want?”
She’s really hyped up. I don’t dislike it, but I prefer calm women like big sisters. Since I’m a bit of a gaming nerd with few friends, I feel that way even more. I don’t get along well with outgoing people…
”I need green shiso dressing for my salad. What about you, Hyakudou?”
”I don’t use any. I like to enjoy the taste of the ingredients.”
”Is there really someone like that!? I mean, that’s not even a salad anymore, right? You call it a salad because you put dressing on it!”
I looked at Mayuki for help with this high-energy girl.
”Ms. Touka. Stay away from Koushi. I want to be the only one getting cozy with him.”
”Mayu Mayu, don’t say such cold things!”
”What’s with that nickname? At least call me Yuki Yuki.”
I couldn’t help but jump in.
”How about calling Hyakudou… um, Ushi Ushi?”
”Absolutely not. Never say that again.”
”Calling him Kuu is so plain. It’s not interesting.”
”Don’t look for fun in how you call someone.”
As I was dutifully dealing with Touka, the princess jumped in.
”I’d like you to stop calling me princess too.”
”Princess is princess, right? Or would you prefer Mickey?”
”Princess is fine.”
Alright, I got that confirmed.
As the 4 of us chatted about silly things, the table started filling up with food. Suddenly, it felt lively with more people around, like a school trip. The warm soup spread a cozy feeling inside me.
Seeing the girls gathered and laughing made my stress melt away. It was a beautiful sight.
