Chapter 66 Audience with the King of Karl

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

”Distinguished Hero and his companions, I thank you for making the journey. I am Lashara, the Second Princess of the Kingdom of Karl.”

The woman said, gracefully sinking into a deep curtsy.

Since she had addressed us as the Hero-honorific recipients, I glanced toward Senior.

He gave a small, helpless shake of his head, so I realized I had to be the one to step forward.

”We appreciate the warm welcome. I am Kisaragi Ibuki. I am one of those summoned to this world. This is Yui-sama, our Sage¹, and this is Haruki, the Hero².”

Perhaps because I was acting with such formality, the other two—clearly gripped by nerves—gave the Princess a stiff bow.

She offered a delighted smile in return.

”Oh my… so even the Sage-sama has graced us with her presence,” Lashara said.

I felt a wave of relief seeing her reaction.

(If the Princess is this reasonable, we might actually be treated like honored guests.)

As the thought crossed my mind, she turned her attention back to me.

”Um, if it isn’t an imposition, might I ask what your profession is?”

”I don’t mind at all. It’s a bit of an anomaly—a class they call ‘Crafter³,’” I replied.

I kept the explanation vague, and though she looked startled, she simply murmured, “An unknown class…”

She quickly regained her composure and guided us to a lavish waiting room.

In the next room, we were met by the King of Karl, the Prime Minister, and several high-ranking ministers.

”Hero-dono, you have done well to come. I offer my deepest thanks for saving us from such a dire predicament,” the King said.

He began by addressing Senior directly.

”No, I… I didn’t really do much,” Senior replied.

”Nonsense! Hero-sama, your mere presence provides us with strength,” the King said.

”Indeed. We heard from the Lord of that territory that you personally assisted with the evacuation. We cannot express the depth of our gratitude,” the Prime Minister added.

While Senior was being buttered up, he kept shooting me desperate looks.

”Why would the Duchy of Dole commit such an atrocity…?” the King muttered after hearing of the Enslavement.

”He’s already a Divine Enemy—it shouldn’t be that surprising, right?”

”At the very least, I will take the head of their King. I was the one who trained the Knight Order that can treat an Orc King like a playground bully.”

The conversation then shifted to the rewards for the Orc King Subjugation.

”If the Hero would just marry the Princess, everything would work out beautifully ~desuwa,” Erina said.

Notes:

• Lashara – The Second Princess of the Kingdom of Karl who greets the hero’s party with a formal curtsy. She possesses a refined demeanor and expresses genuine delight at the presence of a Sage.

• Hero – Ibuki’s upperclassman from Earth—summoned as the naive Hero with emotional, mentally fragile personality. Empathetic yet reluctant and inadequate-feeling, lacking survival instincts and political skills. Currently in despair and terrified by his situation.

• Kisaragi – Ibuki, a summoned other‑world man bearing the rare Crafter class, presents a composed, formally‑styled appearance. As the pragmatic leader of his group, he navigates royal politics with cautious, formal restraint, his family name Ibuki anchoring his identity.

• Haruki – Haruki Yamada, the group’s Hero also called Senior, sports sleek black hair and feels he must atone. Overwhelmed by social and political pressures, he leans on Ibuki for guidance and shares a room with Kuria‑chan.

• Ibuki – Kisaragi, a black-haired, germ-phobic former high-schooler summoned from Earth, is a Level 10 otherworlder and leader of a Demi-human nation. After surviving betrayal by the Duchy of Dole, he now commands his own Knight Order. A master crafter, he uses Synthesis and Inventory to create high-value gear for his companions. He travels the frontier with Charlotte, balancing ruthless combat with a quest for peace.

• Yui – An Earth-born Sage and core member of Ibuki’s party, she balances a gentle, level-headed demeanor with a sharp wit, often teasing Yamada about his past failures. Though she recoils from violence, she is fiercely protective of Ibuki, whom she loves deeply. Her outward composure masks a burning resentment toward human nations and Dole for her past trauma of attempted assassination and enslavement.

• Erina – A 17-year-old swordswoman and slave under Ibuki’s contract, this refined former noble retains a drill-haired, elegant appearance. As a composed, slightly mischievous member of the hero’s entourage, she manages the group’s logistics and social standing. Protective of Ibuki’s status, she uses her diplomatic acumen to navigate nobility, even suggesting political marriages to resolve international tensions.
