Her shout echoed through the room, instantly drawing the attention of the others. Amano Yuuma (Raynare) stepped forward, her voice stern. “Mittelt, how many times do I have to tell you? Try to be more composed.”
”But Lady Yuuma! Aki said he was conscious the entire time…” Mittelt’s face burned as she stammered her explanation. “I just… I was shocked, that’s all.”
Amano Yuuma (Raynare) looked at Aki, her eyes widening as the implication dawned on her. A faint, rosy tint crept up her neck and onto her cheeks. She quickly turned away, suddenly finding the lecture she had been giving Mittelt far less pressing.
Aside from Rias, who had known the truth about Aki’s ‘coma’ since the previous night, the others looked on with a mix of surprise and, in most cases, relief. The trio of Amano, Mittelt, and Kalawarner seemed the most flustered, while the rest seemed visibly comforted.
”Well, that saves us the trouble of recapping everything that happened,” Himejima Akeno said, her eyes narrowing into playful crescents as she beamed at him. “And I assume you’re already caught up on what Lady Grayfia told us, Koaki?”
”Yeah…” Aki nodded. He was fully aware of the updates from Grayfia, including the fact that she had taken advantage of his compromised state during her “examination.”
