Chapter 210 Exclusive Seat
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
Landing lightly on the bed, Aki glanced at Koneko, who was still fast asleep. He maintained his cat form, hopped onto the windowsill, and leaped down.
Though he looked like an ordinary cat, his physical abilities were far superior. Dropping from the second floor of the villa, he hit the ground like it was nothing; his soft, thick paw pads absorbed the impact so perfectly that not even a speck of dust rose into the air.
Aki paced with an elegant gait, his orange-yellow slit pupils fixed on the dense forest in the distance. Suddenly, his sleek body tensed. He crouched slightly and pushed off, his speed instantly hitting the limit as he blurred into a gray-blue streak, vanishing into the woods.
This forest was near the group’s usual training clearing, occasionally used as an experimental zone. Aki was here to see how much of his power remained in this form.
His razor-sharp claws flickered with a cold light, leaving three deep gouges in the sturdy tree trunk. Anyone who saw the marks would surely think they were made by a fierce beast.
After testing his attack power, Aki tried out his speed and defense. His speed was on par with his human form, though his smaller frame and structure meant he made far less noise. His defense, however, was like his attack—it had dropped significantly. Without using Mana, he was roughly at B-rank, equivalent to a low-level Devil.
Moments later, his curiosity satisfied, Aki shifted back. A flash of deep blue light surged; in an instant, he used Transient Illusion, appearing in the forest as a handsome youth in black casual wear.
After spending time as a cat, he felt somewhat constrained in his human form—especially the clothes. They couldn’t compare to the freedom of his feline state. As for staying in cat form indefinitely? Not happening. His defense was too compromised; a sneak attack from a strong enemy could be fatal. Plus, the transformation drained Mana—not much, but enough that he couldn’t maintain it forever. He’d need his Mana recovery speed to outpace the drain to make it permanent.
The Nekomata1 transformation had potential, but certainly not for combat.
With that decided, Aki walked deeper into the forest and summoned the Red Dragon’s gauntlet onto his left hand.
”Boost,” he commanded.
The green gem flickered. Feeling his power double, he clenched his fist and spoke again: “Berserk.”
Deep blue Mana exploded, wrapping Aki in a surging aura. The sheer shockwave cleared everything within a meter of him, leaving a deep depression in the earth.
He leaned into a lunge, adjusting to the surge of power.
”Whoosh… BOOM! BOOM!”
A simple punch sent a shockwave that uprooted trees thicker than a man’s waist. In the direction of his blow, a trench one meter deep and six meters long was carved into the ground. A High-Class Devil could easily destroy a small hill; with the Boosted Gear and Berserk augmentation, Aki could now achieve similar destruction using raw physical force alone. And this wasn’t even his limit—he hadn’t touched his other bloodline energies, Mana, or Qi.
Aki looked around the forest, which now looked as if it had been ravaged by a tornado, and slowly dispelled the buffs. He knew how Berserk worked now; no need to tear up the place further. He was worried that if he used any more Mana, he’d have to personally renovate this natural training ground belonging to the Gremory family.
The Boosted Gear lived up to its reputation as one of the thirteen Sacred Gears. His Berserk ability, even optimized by his Dual Cultivation talent, was merely a low-end imitation. The “doubling of all stats” only applied to physical parameters, not Mana or spiritual power. The Boosted Gear might only double “power,” but that encompassed everything from muscle to Mana.
Aki wasn’t disappointed. The Boosted Gear was an external tool; once he surpassed the Two Heavenly Dragons, it would likely lose its effectiveness. Berserk, however, was different. Even if he became the strongest in this world, it would still reliably double his physical constitution. Simply put, the stronger Aki grew, the more terrifying Berserk would become.
The commotion from his test had woken all the girls in the villa. But by the time they arrived, confused and wary, they found no sign of a person. There was only a cute, gray-blue cat gracefully licking its paw in the center of the wreckage.
”Meow~”
Seeing the girls, Aki jumped and pounced toward Rias. Rias was startled, subconsciously trying to dodge the strange creature, but as she stepped aside, a familiar voice echoed in her ear.
”Buchou, it’s me,” Aki said, his voice calm and neutral.
Though he looked like a cat, his essence was Youkai; the meowing was just instinct. Aki could actually speak. His soft paws landed on Rias’s soft, bouncy chest, and the resulting sensation almost made him lose his balance. Thankfully, Rias caught him just in time.
”Aki-chan? Why are you in this form? Did you cause that noise just now?” Rias asked, her voice elegant and restrained.
The others were just as curious, their eyes glued to the gray-blue cat in Rias’s arms.
After rubbing against his dear Buchou, Aki leaped onto Koneko’s shoulder. The white-haired loli held him up, examining his front paws.
”Hmm… Male,” Koneko stated bluntly, her tone flat.
”Meow!” Aki protested.
Looking at the expressionless girl, Aki had braced himself for something strange, but this was…
As Aki started to fuss, the white-haired loli smiled slightly, pulled him into her arms, and began stroking him. She knew exactly where the comfortable spots were. Under her skilled touch, Aki decided to forgive her previous antic. Besides, everyone present was “family”—they’d seen and done everything already.
Enjoying her petting, Aki briefly explained what happened. When it came to the source of his transformation and the Berserk ability, everyone instinctively looked at Koneko. Only Rias knew the truth, but after so much “close-range contact,” the changes in Aki’s body and Mana were impossible to hide from the others. Akeno and Raynare were far from stupid; they had long since guessed the reason.
Aki hadn’t planned on hiding it, anyway. It was impossible unless he stopped using the copied abilities in front of them—or killed them. Neither was an option.
”I can’t transform…” Koneko’s hand paused on his fur. “I have Berserk, but it comes with side effects like the normal one.”
Aki had always felt the Youkai of this world were more like beast-kin. But this world was already chaotic enough, so he didn’t dwell on it.
The girls nodded and tacitly moved on from the subject. Aki stayed in cat form, lazing in Koneko’s arms until they returned to the villa.
When Aki shifted back into human form, a flash of disappointment crossed the white-haired loli’s eyes, and her pure white cat ears drooped. But the moment Aki sat down to eat breakfast, she perked up.
Koneko didn’t go to her own seat; instead, she climbed onto Aki’s lap.
”Koneko?” Aki asked, his tone neutral.
”This is my exclusive seat from now on,” she said, her voice flat and emotionless.
The white-haired loli didn’t turn back, her face blank as if stating an immutable law of nature.
”Uh…” Feeling the soft, warm weight on his lap, Aki stiffened. “If you could… stop squirming… I guess I could accept that.”
The white-haired loli moved slightly, shifting her hips away from the source of his heat. Her face flushed a faint red, and she muttered, barely audible: “Hentai…”
Under the strange gazes of the other girls, Aki finished a very “special” breakfast. He couldn’t even taste the food; his entire focus was on restraining his “Great Dragon.”

Trivia:
